two years? i don't think she passed that test-- being ready. >> being ready to take over. i think that was a -- a mistake. >> sean: i don't think the president passed that test either, but your reaction on it? >> no. i have admired and known dick cheney for years. i think he was one of the really outstanding secretaries of defense during operation desert storm and other work that he d. look, i just don't see the point to go back four years ago. i am proud of sarah palin. i am grateful for the way she energized our party and i will always appreciate what she did for our party and for our ticket. >> sean: all right. senator, one of the issues that comes back up from 2008, i am troont i to dig up old ground here, whether or not you could have been harder in fighting then candidate obama, in other words, you wanted to run a more respectable campaign, keep it focused on the issues. he ran a pretty negative campaign back then, but that was not the perception. let me show you two clips and ask you if you think the media in this country is in the tank for barack obama, where they in the tank for him then? are they in the tank for him now? governor romney in poland and the president being interrupted during a rose garden -- statement that he was making. >> governor romney, are you concerned about the mishaps on your trip? governor romney -- >> what about your dad? >> governor romney, just a few questions, sir. you haven't taken the three questions on this trip. >> it is the right thing to do. excuse me, sir. this is not time for question, sir. not while i'm speaking. and the answer to your question, sir, and the next time i prefer you let me finish my staims before you ask that question, is this the right thing to do for the american people. i didn't ask for an argument, i am answering your question. it is the right thing to do for the american people. and here's why. here's the reason. because these young people are going to make extraordinary contributions and are already making contributions to our societies. >> sean: pretty glaring difference, senator. you have a unique perspective because you went through this in 2008. explain the impact you think this has on the perception that people in this country have on their politicians. >> well, i think that the media bias towards president obama is just -- it's something we have to accept. it is the air we breathe in the political environment. we have to take that into consideration. i watched mitt romney's trip to europe. he was endorsed by the great hero of the cold war, lec walessa. the shipyard was where the whole overthrow of the soviet union began. prime prim netanyahu did everything but endorse mitt romney. they have known each other for years. they couldn't -- romney couldn't have been more warmly received. and at the same time, of course, the media treats him, as you just mentioned -- but it is what it is. the people like you can bring it to the american people's attention. but honestly, i don't think it's going to change. it is going to have to be part of what the romney campaign is going to have to put up with. >> sean: i think you are right. senator, as always, we appreciate you being with us. >> thank you? >> coming up, a rare apol yee comes down from the white house to our very own charles krauthammer. he's not apologizing for america, all over a bus. we learn more on what happened with this mea cullpa and chick-fil-a has been getting hit, all over the country by the left. but today, the restaurants were packed, lines out the door. people waiting two hours or longer to support the chain. we'll explain. then very serious allegations against the chinese team at the london olympics. are they cheating? >> well, look, i made a very simple statement that obama had returned the bust of churchill that had been lent to the united states to the bush administration in the bush years. i thought it was unobjection unobjectionable. it was not the main point. it was about the romney trip and the slights that our allies have experienced from the obama administration, over the last 3 years. and then all of a sudden, i get this furious attack on the white house web site, which is not exactly, you know, a small megaphone, saying that i was pedaling ridiculous rumors and this was 100% false, eats set raand showing what appeared to be photographic evidence of the claim that the bust had not been given back to the brittings, but had had been moved to a different part of the white house. now when i read that -- that blog post, i was amazed because this is not something -- my statement was not something new t. had been around for years. the brits had written about it in 2009 t. turned out, of course, that the white house had made a mistake. it was returned. i called the british embassy and within hours, i issued a statement that the bust that was given by the british government in 2001, was now residing in the british ambassador's residence in washington. and that the bust was shown in the picture that was -- purported to be the one that we shifted from one part of the white house to the other was actually one that will be given in the 1960s and had nothing to do at all with the issue at hand and the sculpture at hand. >> sean: listen, you know what? it's gracious of you -- which, by the way, for those of us who know you, accepting their apology. let me move on. the polls, we pay attention to them. they now begin to matter. 97 days out of an election, they are beginning to matter. >> , especially in switck states, we see the pattern, where the democrats are over sampled, 9 point, 11 points, 10 points, latest poll, new york times poll, they electric at three swing states n. forda, okay, it's a pretty big margin, 6-point margin by barack obama, but they over sample democrats 9%. if you look at ohio, they over sample democrats by 8%. if you look at pennsylvania, not say state that governor romney has to win, closer, only 6%. what extent do you think this has an impact as we look at the models that will not exist in this election year? >> if i could just say one last thing, i want to say that i do appreciate the apology from the white house. it was i think a gracious one and the case is closed. i don't want to continue that. i want to make a claim -- i appreciate what was done. and it was unexpected and something that i think the white house can actually point to as an expression of its good will. >> sean: nice to hear them not apologize for america -- but i digress. >> those are separate issues. somebody said, i am theine entit on earth, that has received an apology from the white house. but i don't want to repeat. >> sean: don't repeat that. just between us. >> now, on the pols, i think the one that is suspicious here -- i say "suspicious" -- i am not implying conspiracy, is the florida poll. the over sampling was 9 points. the important thing is not the amount of over sampling of in thees over republicans, but the comparing the over sampling to what was in the exit polls in 2008. so in the state of florida, the actual turnout was 3% more democrats than republicans. so the poll that shows 9% more, you know it's skewed and probably wrong. the other two tairkts i think the over sampling of democrats is closer to what was the result in '08. so it's the one in the florida poll that i think is a little bit misleading. now i don't think there is any deliberate attempt to mislead by the pollsters. i think it's a matter of technique and how they decide who is likely and who you include, who you exclude. but i think there is one thing have you to remember, the most important thing in knees numbers is the enthusiasm for republicans versus the democrats. it is way up, compired to '08 -- compared to '08 among republicans and significantly down for democrats compared to '08. so even though you get someone speaking on the phone, that isn't anywhere nortelling you who will show up at the polls on election day. >> sean: charles krauthammer, thanks for sharing that story. despite the left's attempt to silence free speech, the patrons of chick-fil-a proudly all over the country today showing their support for that food chain. we'll explain how the liberal attack has backfired and then shocking reports have emerged from the white house indicating the immeasurable power wielded by obama, valerie jarrett. did she have the obama raid scrapped 3 times? [overlapping dialogue] >> the last one to make -- >> homosexuality, birth control, those are the key issues. >> sean: you keep interrupting, you don't worry the question. >> tam tamara, this is not birth control, this is government control. when you have catholic organizations and people who have beliefs and the government mandates that you pay for abortion-inducing drugs -- >> like what? >> the morning-after pill. >> that's not abortion inducing, it is before the egg has been fortalized -- >> you don't know that. >> you don't know that. >> scientifically -- >> you don't know when -- when -- >> the egg has want been fertilized-- we are getting -- the issue is it's about religious freedom. i would argue that today is the day that religious freedom in america, in many ways died. >> the left want to say that this is a war on women from the conservative side. this is a war on conservatives and a war on our religious freedom, to force a religious organization-- you know something, this is where liberals ought to put their money where their mouth is, if you want to pay for the morning-after pill and for the $9 to pay for a birth control pill and buy condoms, have you every right to do so, but to force people to go against religious beliefs tells me you don't believe in religious freedom -- >> you cannot point your finger in my face and tell me-- that's 4 feet away. >> i will put it closer to you. i do believe -- >> not if you want the government to force to pay for birth control -- [overlapping dialogue] >> sean: why don'tou liberals -- put your money where your mouth is. >> put the birth control pill in front of the counter, why does it need to be a prescription? why don't we do that? >> the bottom line is this, the federal mandate forces religious organizations to go against their moral conscience, to go against god. >> they are employers. >> sean: we have to end it here. thank you both. amazing showing around the country in the chick-fil-a, across the country. coming up, how powerful is obama? valerie jarrod. we have two new disturbing reports as we vet the president about the critical role that the former real estate agent plays. michelle malkin will sound off next. and the outrageous new attack that senator harry reid is launching against governor rom flee and his decease
