it comes to the general public watching without much in the way of coverage or fanfare? >> reporter: depends what local authorities will allow the media to cover. if they allow it we will see donald trump entering and leaving. we might get to see him fingerprinted if we allow the press in. it could be a complete circus if they allow the press in. i think bragg would like to get a perp walk out of think he would like to have that perp walk. pete: what process does it start? what timeline are we looking at? >> reporter: it starts the clock running, new york will have strict rules about when the president has a right to certain things like discovery. in the federal system, you have a right to get discovery at your arraignment. we will see the indictment unsealed, some discovery handed to the president's lawyers probably in an envelope or file folder which will contain things like police reports, fbi 300 tos, grand jury transcripts, that will be turned over to his lawyers at or shortly before arraignment and then you will start the clock running for a trial date. pete: are we talking weeks? months? what is that? >> reporter: generally that clock is weeks long, usually there are motions filed. his team will surely file a motion to dismiss for a variety of reasons. i would be shocked if they didn't already have a brief on that in process being written by some smart lawyers. those motions will tall all those clocks so this process will drag out for months but it could take weeks if he really wanted sort of a rocket docket trial and head into the court room but i think his best bet is to file a motion first. rachel: i saw on ned ryan on tucker carlson, the way these political prosecutions end is in a mutual destruction type of situation. do you think at this moment there are prosecutors across the country looking through the books figuring out how they can get president biden who has more dirt on him and things that are of more consequence to this country? >> i have a feeling prosecutors, especially gop prosecutors are looking hard at the biden family. here in atlanta if i was a prosecutor in atlanta i would at minimum be looking into whether or not any of the biden family alleged corruption could be tied through atlanta, whether that is through internet, phone calls, travel, transiting to and from atlanta on the way to these deals we understand, evidence exists in hunter biden's laptop, i'm looking at that. i don't think most people who are career prosecutors want this sort of war but it seems to me that bragg has declared war on rule of law sitting presidents can't be prosecuted for anything. there are literally tens of thousands of elected district attorneys around this country. imagine if all of them decide to start indicting a sitting president or all the presidential candidates to take out the competition from winning elections or serving once they win. it is absolute chaos and catastrophe for justice in this country and i am leave within those compliance. rachel: he said you are supposed to prosecute crimes, not people, in other words. it looks like a lot of things he has seen in african countries, what's going on here which is what el salvador's president said. a man who actually knows about putting real criminals in jail as he has taken on ms 13 and so many evil gangs in his country. here is what he said about the impact on america's reputation, it will be hard for us foreign policy to use arguments such as democracy and free and fair elections or try to condemn political persecution in other countries from now on. i wonder if alvin bragg realizes what he has done and if it is worth it to him to get that perp walk you wants, to trash our reputation around the world. pete: that's probably answered for alvin bragg, this helps them politically. he is a politically elected attorney, he probably feels like the noble way to say it, doing the will of the people outside the window, the people who vote a certain
