Transcripts For FBC Risk And Reward With Deidre Bolton 20170524

Be true, this is an amazing abuse of power, and it dwarfs any of the other sort of made up stuff that were looking into now. If the Obama Administration was going after and targeting people in the trump transition or others politically, this is an enormous story, and it will dwarf all the other stories. We now have an alternative government, which is more potentially powerful than the president himself. Well, the dow closing slightly higher today on the heels of a major report that an obama intel agency secretly conducted illegal searches on americans for years. Also breaking. The cbs score on the republicans new Health Care Bill just came in a few moments ago. Again, that score confirming that the new bill lowers the premiums, lowers the deficits, were going to have that in just a few moments on the Health Care Bill that came out of congress. Welcome, everybody, to risk and reward. Im Cheryl Casone in for deirdre bolton. Democrats largely discounting allegations. Trump administration surveillance. And now a new report that the National Security agency under former president barack obama did, in fact, routinely violate american Privacy Protection while scouring and did it until final days before donald trump was elected last fall. All of this new information is according to a new released once top secret document dump that chronicals what some call the most serious constitutional abuse to date by the u. S. Intelligence community. Fox news chief washington correspondent james rosen is here with the report. And of course, more details. James, good evening. Cheryl, good evening to you. The Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court known as the fisa court is so secretive, we have no pictures of it to show you. It proves 99 of the governments request to conduct surveillance on american citizens. Now to classify documents first obtained that they fisa court sharply rebuked the Obama Administration when its lawyers quietly informed the court two weeks before election day that the National Security agency had systematically violated countless americans rights over a period of years. Specifically, the court found nsa had not complied with socalled minimization procedures, meaning the measures the government is supposed to take to keep to a minimum its infringements on americans Constitutional Rights under the Fourth Amendment against unwandered searches. With greater frequency than previously disclosed to the court, nsa analysts had used u. S. Person identifiers to query the results of upstream collection. Even though minimize procedures prohibited such queries. The report stated and the judges added this is a very serious Fourth Amendment issue. All right. We were expecting to hear from connecticut senator rand paul, the republican who is a strict libertarian and who appeared on fox and friends this morning and who said if we can determine this to be true, this is an amazing abuse of power, and it dwarfs any of the other made up stuff that were looking into now. And paul continued were talking about millions and millions of phone calls and emails that are being gathered up. And then being searched with no sort of control over the privacy of the american citizen. Now, a spokesman for former president obama did not respond to the request for comment. And up for reauthorization by congress at years end. Cheryl thats going to be looked at a lot today. The full context of the documents, its trouble winning thank you very much. You know, obama officials like former National Security adviser susan rice have argued that their activities were legal under the socalled minimization rule that changes thats the change that obama made. And that the intelligence agencies were strictly monitored to avoid abuses. Within the context of the Trump Campaign, the trump transition, did you seek the names of people involved in to unmask the names of people involved in the trump transition, the Trump Campaign . People surrounding the president elect . Let me begin. In order to spy on them. Absolutely not for any political purposes to spy, expose, anything. You know, the denial, that interview was done from her with all of this was surrounding engulfing washington. And, you know, this new report states that the intelligence court and the nsas own internal watch dog found this not to be true. Her denial to andrea mitchell. I want to bring in right now the man who sued the Obama Administration over the nsa collection or lets just say 151 million phone and internet records. Well, he won that in court. Larry claman joins me now. You won that case, exce me. Well never forget that susan rice categorically denied it and all of us were questioning it in the Mainstream Media in general saying this does not add up. Now were getting proof today, via these documents, via circa that indeed they overreached, they overstepped. What do you say to that, sir . Well, thats very true, cheryl. And of course we know that susan rice is not the first time she hasnt told the truth. We remember the benghazi scandal, which is still going on. Cheryl uhhuh. We know about this. But now we have confirmation that this is happening. And its just one aspect of our lawsuit. In fact, its titled claman versus obama. You can find that at freedomwatch. Org. These are crimes, serious crimes. And this is what special counsel Robert Muller should be investigating as part of his independent counsel investigation. And of course were pursuing it in court. Were going to be going back in front of the judge seeking cheryl well, let me just stop you. Before you move on, though. So but doesnt muller already have that authority to include this . Or does he actually need to get Additional Authority from the Attorney Generals Office . Im not sure. He does have the authority insofar as that the masking occurred of the russian collusion. Thats the pretext for it. So he can move into that. Now, the problem is that muller, and ive had experience with him, is a very political animal. Hes very close to james comey. And as you know because ive been on the show and talked about it before. We brought forward a whistle blower named Dennis Montgomery who left the cia and nsa with 47 hard drives, 600 pages of information showing trump was surveyed when he was businessman, the chief justice supreme court, 156 judges, even yours truliy. Comey buried for two years. Gave all of this to the fbi and even testified under oath for three hours. Comey has obstructed justice. So the bigger story here in addition to this scandal, which i believe is the biggest in American History is that comey should be endited for obstructing justice. Cheryl lets back up, though, because i dont want to get off track of what the news broke today. You go back in time just to kind of bring our viewers back to the fall of 2008, early 2016 into 17. You have President Trump coming out and saying in a tweet, you know, fair enough that he was how dare i was wiretapped by the Obama Administration, and he was ridiculed for that. He was absolutely taken out to the shed on that one. And this, to me, says he was right; is that correct . Is that a correct assessment of what weve learned today . Thats right. He was right all along, and i said that. I said that on this show early on. He was right. And, you know, people could yoaccuse him of lying all the time. But you know what . Sometimes hes right. In fact, i think hes right most of the time. This is so serious. How can the president do business when hes surveyed . He talked about Nuclear Submarines in the sea of japan with the president of the philippines on the phone. How is that leaked . Because there are intelligences more powerful than the president of the United States. Probably leaked that, and theyre trying to destroy the presidency. We still have this deep state, still a lot of obama people in charge. The intel communities dont look into it because theyre frightened of these agencies because they could leak information about them. Cheryl its so complicated, and i think thats whats so fascinating. I only have about ten seconds. Before you go, i do so you ask do you think that this hits back to former president obama . Do you think that this brings him into the fold again . Absolutely. And if one point in American History we need to hold a president accountable under our criminal law, this is it. Obama should be held accountable. Cheryl larry, thank you very much. There was a lot to cover in a short amount of time. We appreciate it tonight. Thank you. Youre welcome. God bless you. Cheryl all right. You as well. Well, lets see how related stocks fared today. You had Telephone Companies closing mostly down today. Verizon wireless, by the way, internet stocks were mixed, though. Google did close at an alltime high, near alltime high, anyway. But internet companies, all of these names involved in a lot of these names, specifically we should say the nsa used. Well, weve got some breaking news right now. Two u. S. Defense officials are now confirming to fox the alleged manchester bomber spent three weeks in libya prior to the Manchester Bombing returning to england just days before the Ariana Grande concert. This new information on the heels of london authorities arresting two of his family members. They arrested his brother and his father today. The brother, they actually found in libya. The father was in lebanon. Officials adding the father belonged to a former alqaedabacked group there. I want to bring in former u. S. Ambassador to the un john bolton. He is with me now. You know, ambassador, last night we were talking about this, obviously, and the question was is there a Bigger Network involved . This couldnt have been just one terrorist. This new information today tells me this is a group. Yeah. Its very compelling and obviously, we still dont know everything. So the extent of the network and the connections to alqaeda or to isis could grow even more extensive. And bearing in mind that isis itself is an offshoot of alqaeda, and its not like they have uniforms or membership cards. People go back and forth. But this connection to libya country thats dissolved into anarchy, lebanon controlled by hezbollah. I mean, the terrorist connections here i think are very, very deep, and i do think well see more information as the days go by and the investigation proceeds. Cheryl well, you know, were just getting this. And i want to show our viewers. Its the first picture of the brother. So this is just coming into us. We want to take a look at him. Claim to be involved with the islamic state, allegedly knew about the bombing plot. Signs, though. It seems to me from what ive seen from the apartment where the brothers lived in the manchester area that there were signs that they were maybe becoming radicalized. Are this signs to miss, though . Because they miss something here. Well, its happened over and over again and, you know, manchester is a city that has a very High Percentage of muslims if you look at the population, so its something that is really difficult for the traditional English Police to understand, and it raises a question whether the terrorist threats come from immigrants or refugees or whether in many tragic cases the london transportation bombings of 2005, theyre born and raised in britain or the United States. Cheryl but his parent came from libya. Right. Cheryl and finding a father facilitated with alqaeda. So maybe they were born in britain, but thats definitely not the story. No. But what im saying is that they merge into a larger population, and its very hard with the techniques that are being used now to detect the networks before they strike, and i think that really should be the objective of law enforcement. Not to arrest people after theyve succeeded in killing innocents but to try to prevent it from happening in the first place. Our techniques are obviously still insufficient. Cheryl and we should say he was known to british authorities. We found out that today as well. He his name had come up. This is not the first time thats happened. He spent these three weeks in libya, and im curious if you think thats enough time for someone to become fully radicalized, even though he might have been on his way. But also learn how to make the type of bomb that detonated at the arena. Is that enough time . Three weeks . Sure. I think its plenty of time. My guess is that they were radicalized well before the trips and that this was for training and other indoctrination purposes. And thats why its so important that the police have been able to apprehend at least some of these network members. Because i think the fear we should have is that isis, given the length of time it was able to operate from its base in the caliphate in syria and iraq has dispatched many networks, many individuals in europe, in the United States so that even if the isis caliphate there is destroyed, hopefully sooner rather than later, this terrorist capability remains. And in many respects, i think dan, the director of National Intelligence testified just the other day, their terrorist capacity could actually grow. Cheryl ambassador, youre certainly a voice on this, and were going to lean on you again and again. Thank you. Glad to do it. Cheryl we got a lot of breaking news today. We got this in about 25 minutes or so ago. We got the number now announcing tir analys of the republican bill to repeal and replace obamacare. I want to bring in the expert herself, gerri willis in the newsroom. What do you think, gerri, of this cbo score . Well, cheryl, this is good news and bad news for republicans. Good news and bad news for democrats. Weve already got them weighing in. Ill tell you a little bit about that in a second. But lets start with those numbers you just pointed to. So the big hurdles here. Does it reduce the deficit by 2 billion or more . Yes, indeed it does. This bill would reduce the deficit by 119 billion over ten years. So thats good news for republicans. Heres the bad news. It would mean that 23 americans lose coverage, and thats over and above what would happen with the plan we have in place right now. Obamacare in place. So over and above that number 23 million more americans would lose coverage. The previous version of this bill from the gop would have raised that number by 24 million. Now, im always interested in how much people are paying for their health care. Premiums would fall in a range of 4 to 20 , depending on what state you lived in. If you lived in the state where no state opted out, there were no waivers, your premiums would fall 4 . But 20 fall in premiums in those states with moderate changes to regulations. And finally, take a look at this the total number of folks and you Better Believe democrats will focus on this with no insurance by 2026. 51million under this plan. So i want to show you that. Weve been looking at this for an hour now. It just came out. Already weve got the politicians weighing in. Paul ryan saying that this achieves our mission of lowering premiums and the deficit. Very happy with it dash with this report. And then tom perez, the dnc chair says this is a cruel betrayal and assault on hardworking families. So the fight will go on. But at this point, what we do know is that the republicans will not have to take the bill back to the house for fixes. We thought that might have to happen if they couldnt make the numbers on deficit reduction. They did in this plan, so now it moves on to the senate. And of course as you know, this entire conversation may become mute because the senates expected to rewrite this bill and get rid of many of the provisions that were put in to satisfy. Cheryl i know. Gerri willis, thank you so much, gerri. Appreciate it. All right. Coming up, everybody. A texas sheriff Facebook Post is now being accused of racism after telling politicallycorrect americans to wake up after manchesters attack. That sheriff here to react to that. And a democratic senator now saying that President Trump is calling isis losers, and that could lead to an attack like manchester here in the u. S. Columnist Katie Hopkins is here to respond after this worried about some of the rhetoric of the Trump Administration because we worry that that combined with robust online recruitment might end up in an attack like this happening in the United States. Cheryl democratic senator chris murphy slamming the Trump Administration, you just heard from him, saying the president would be to blame if a terror attack like manchester happened here. With me now, daily mail global columnist katie. President trump has been very vocal about taking down isis and other terror groups. What is so wrong with condemning these acts of terrorism . There is nothing wrong at all with him coming out, being vocal, saying well stand up for america, well make america safe again. I can say sitting here in the uk, as weve suffered the last couple of days watching our children slaughtered by this horrible, horrible person and the network he belongs to. I long for the president to come out and say the things trump says. I long for someone who stands up and say we will not tolerate this. We will crush these people because what weve got at the uk at the moment is the opposite. We have people saying you know lets carry on as normal, its business as usual, te
