It was a great day for texas and the 26 states that filed this lawsuit. Charles it was a victory for 50 states in that thing we call the constitution. Resume of law, finally, rules. Were you surprised at the 44 decision or any other aspects of what happened today . We would like an 80 decision. But you know its true. We wanted the fifth circuit. So as you just mentioned, the rule of law, the constitution was what this case was about. It wasnt about just immigration, it was about separation of powers, it was about the president being under the Constitutional Authority of not making law, but following the law and implementing the law. Charles president obama has issues 444 executive orders. He hinted ther there will be moe executive orders on Climate Change as part of his administration. Apparently the overarching message of separation of powers, congress and the president working together falling on deaf ears to a degree. We are suing because the president does not have the authority to make these actions and we cant let them do this because then future president s will follow in this line and our elected representatives wont have a say what the law is. This puts the Supreme Court in front of voters which it has already been. So people will be paying closer attention to the Supreme Court and who that nominee is going to be and it will be a galvanizing effect for democrats and republicans. Charles different universities have an array of things to use in deciding who to admit, including preference for people whose brothers and parents and siblings have gone to the university. Doesnt this come down to reverse discrimination . If the end result is someone who is academically prepared doesnt get a shot . I think that happens. Student who are better prepared dont get a shot, and some students who are not well prepared come to us. You dont do them a service when you admit them. Because if a student is at the wrong level. If he should be at a State College and you admit him to a top level university, he has difficulty keeping up with his fellow students. You dont do anybody a favor if they are a c student and you put them in an a university. When it comes to admitting someone when they are not fully prepared. Thats problematic for the entire student population. When it comes to diversity being a factor thats included. It makes sense only in the sense that if the institution wished to have a more diverse population, you see in some cases, there is a number of white student and barely any black student. Sometimes the fact they are bringing in a direct drersity requirement. Charles ultimately if this calendar is about Higher Learning and people work hard to get admitted, the person that ends up not getting in because its someone who has probably maybe worth less has shorter on the academic side. Is it unfair to that person and the university, is it unfair to the country that we are not graduating the absolute smartest people no matter what their racial is . You have to have a high academic standard. When it comes to considering race as a factor, they have to consider test scores and grades. You shouldnt give anyone a slack hand because they are a certain color. Charles i think this will feed the overall narrative that we are seeing on college campuses, and i think it could ultimately go beyond academics and take us further to this soft, dont touch me safe space, social justice as opposed to Academic Excellence which is what college use odd to be about. The microspaces is already starting to have a backlash. We are seeing liberals like bloomberg speak out against it. I would have more confidence in university and see some correction take place. Especially since we get mr. Obama out of the white house. His staff has been pushing universities to put in place judicious processes that have highly questionable. The Harvard Law School faculty is taking issue with the department of education requirements. Real issue. This is a duh question for me, its obviously donald trump. From 2008 to 2012 over 600,000 businesses failed to materialize in this country which would have brought about 6 million jobs to the u. S. She talks about making housing more affordable, and she has never done anything about it. She talks about her husband who she want to put in charge, he inherited great economic structure from bush 41. He expand welfare. He does little on trade. Charles the clinton came along on what was called the third or fourth industrial revolution. But others will say he put in place the pieces for the housing bubble. This wont be a bill clinton economy. Hillary clinton is trying to find ways to distance herself from president obama. You cant even justify what happened with the economy other than the fact that president obama never cared about the economy as much as he cared about being a social Justice Warrior and doing whatever it took to bring the top down and bring the bottom up. The bottom up of course is what hillary wants to do, too, through the same mechanism. She said you get higher wages which means more demand which means higher wages. I get that. But her idea begins with the government forcing wage demands on businesses including overtime pay and things like that. Thats an artificial move, rob, you know this, its not free market and it will not result in a virtuous cycle. I think she is doing a bit of appeasement to the Bernie Sanders millennials to get their votes. I think shell be more of a centrist. Trump is good at attacking her, but i see no policy coming from him whatsoever. There was a round table hearing in washington, d. C.
