>> you have to have people willing to do it. i have been here for 7 years. people talk about it all the time. the speaker of the house talked about it's many times before he was speaker and nothing has changed if you look at the spending in government. social security, medicare and medicaid. kennedy: social security can't be touched because of reconciliation in the senate. but also, should we just get rued to the idea that social security is going bankrupt, a, and b, it's here to stay? >> i'm afraid it will go bankrupt if we don't change something about it. members of congress seem to be willing to let it continue the what it is. and military spending which is another large budget item. at some point we have to pay for the spending. and we'll have future generations in trouble. kennedy: there is such a disconnect on capitol hill between spending and cutting costs and taxes. and that's so problematic as you say, for future generations. the house speaker talks about entitlement reform. what is something you would like to see your party and your chamber tackle in the next year? >> you should look at social security. medicare is tied to the healthcare reform. it's much more complicated. but social security is a relatively easy thing to do compared to medicare and healthcare and other issues. kennedy: can you get the democratsen board to do that? >> it's a little bit like paypal. you do it directly with the people you are buying from. people aren't using it by and large to buy anything because the values are changing so much. bitcoin is not there yet. so most of people aren't using it for transactions. a guy who bought a pizza for two bitcoins, he's kicking himself. it wasn't a currency, it was a speculative asset. over the long term it will function like a currency. but nobody knows who that will be. it could be one of hundreds of crip to currencies. you are taking a big risk when you choose bitcoin over other crip to currencies. sometimes first to market is great. the first to market takes all the hits. everybody else learns from that and they learn to do it better. there are hundreds of crypto currencies out there. it's the block change technology that runs it. so bitcoin is using that technology, but it may not be the winner at the end of the day. you can bet on it now and you might make a lot of money or you could lose your shirt. kennedy: let's start a crypto currency. >> i am in. >> and i have his brain on loan. kennedy: the 2018 winter olympic games are being held near the north korean border. the united states says the united states team will be there. is it enough to remove athletes from the one thing they have been training for their entire lives?
