analysts are aimed at companies to grow by 9.1% overall from a year ago. what do you think of the earnings story in the markets going forward? >> i said right on your show a couple quarters ago the earnings occurred in the second order of 2016. earnings were negative in the third quarter. that's a positive in the third quarter. close to 8% for the fourth quarter in the s&p 500. the estimate about 9% will be pretty much on the mark. comparisons in the first quarter and second quarter of this year while the 30 darn good because earnings are so bad in the first and second quarter last year. nicole: are you concerned about valuations at these levels or does it have more room to run? >> you know, you can make the argument that there are more there are more at high-growth, high margin companies in the s&p than ever before. also make the argument in 1985 in terms of intangible assets they were only 15% of the companies in the s&p 500 that have intangible assets. 85% had tangible assets. now the ratio is completely flipped. 83% of the companies in the s&p 500 have intangible asset like attitude that only 17% had tangible assets. the argument can be made that historic valuations don't make a lot of sense right here. the evaluation should be higher. nicole: jack on my first use that analogy or tell us about that fact. also just a trump palace is. a lot of people say the market keeps running on earnings and better economy. what do you think? how important are the tax cuts to keep this going? >> tax cuts are important. even more important are the less regulations to free up the entrepreneurial ship in this country. we think the equity markets have transitioned from an interest rate driven bull market for interest rates come down and multiples expand to an
