Be 200 years old. I dont know. He has incredible genes, i just assume. If i didnt watch what i eat, i wouldnt have the cardiac and Overall Health that he has. Hes very healthy despite he does those things. And hes in the white house now. Hes eating what the chefs are cook go for him now and it is a much healthier diet and were making it even healthier. He has incredible genes and thats the way god made him. You mentioned the presidnt will a could gofully i have the test. Was that the mini men health state . Can you tell us what specific it was the really the could gofully i have the assessment. Sometimes referred to as the moca. You can find it online. Do you have a Life Expectancy range for him based on his results . Number two, what exactly does the exercise and eating plan look like . An elliptical machine next to the bedroom . What does that look like . And number three, did you see any evidence of bone spurs which the president said he suffered from . None of that stuff has been bothering him recently so we didnt examine him for bone spurs. Hes not come to me complaining of that. So there was no reason in this particular assessment. We were pretty crunched for time. We didnt look at the issues like. That i didnt assess that, no. As far as Life Expectancy, ill say he probably wont live to be 200. But i dont know. I think his Life Expectancy is, weave to say it is the same as every eamerican male right now but it is certainly he no less. And the dietary plan . Were working on it. Im getting a nutrition specialist to come meet with the chef thats we have here and theyll go over the preparation of the president s food to make sure that were cutting the calories and the fats and the carbohydrates as much as we can and still making good meals for him with. Regard to the exercise, thats something that myself and potentially mrs. Trump will work with him upstairs. Theres a gym upstairs and well get that set up to his specifications and well see how that goes. Is he limited to one scoop of ice cream now . I dont limit his diet at all. I make recommendations. One question. There isnt anything thats part of the president s Health Records or his overall physical fitness or any medications that hes taking that youre not permitted to tell us . Is there anything youre keeping from us for privacy reasons . I can promise there is nothing that i am withholding from you. I can tell you, ive done the last four or five of these. Ive been involved in probably the last six or seven of these and this is hands down more information that has been put forth by any other assessment to date. I was, friday was good day for me. Friday made today exceptionally easy for me. When we left friday, it was good for me. It made this much, much easier for me today. So no, im not withholding anything. I have reviewed the president s past medical records to the extent theyve been made available to me and there is nothing at all concerning to me. When you say given the president s age, he is somewhere where he president reagan was. Can you say given the scrutiny of what was overlooked at the time with president reagan with alzheimers. Can you say whether the test thats you ran would exclude any of those things . What the possibility of overlooking Something Like that would be . How can you tell the American People that this time youre certain . I can say that that test, you know, and i dont know president reagans actual medical condition and i dont know what his condition was like toward the end of his presidency. Ive seen things and sustain documentaries and stuff like everybody here. Lets just assume that he did have some evidence of Cognitive Impairment toward the end of his presidency. I think that i can reliably say, and i think that the folks in the Mental Health community out there would back me up on the fact that if he had some time of mental could go any i have the issue, this test is thorough enough. He would not have gotten 30 out of 30 on it. I can confidently say that he has nothing like that going on. He has absolutely no cognitive or mental issues whatsoever. That he is very sharp. A quick question of his psa . Are you confident of his Prostate Health . It is probably why his psa is as low as it is. It is very low. But we have no indication of a prostate exam and based on his previous psas, that he has any issue going on. A lot of people recommend that you dont do it anymore. We had a long history on previous exams and i reviewed his past medical record so i thought it made sense to do it. Had i seen a large bump in his psa, that would have been concerning but i didnt. Do you have a Waist Measurement . I think hes at 239. Thats just shy of obesity. It is. So youre confident of that number . We dont do measurements. We do height and weight. You can put it in the bmi calculator. Weve never done measurements. Theres not a lot of point in it. The president has acknowledged that he would be healthier if he lost a few pounds and thats what well try to do. Doing measurements, doing some other form of calculation wouldnt have really changed anything clinically for us. cognitive testing in the future . That will be totally up to the president. Like i said before, i didnt feel it was clinically indicated on this round. Ill talk on him on a regular basis, ill visit with him on a regular opportunity, ill spent lots and lots of time with him over the next year. If i come one anything that indicates we should do that, then yes, i will. Short of that, if the president wants to do one next year, then well do it next year. It is prepped most babyboomers get screened for hepatitis c definitely you do the test . He has had a hepc test remotely. I did find that in his past medical record but i did not do one this time. You talked a little about his diet here at the white house. Can you flush that out a little bit . What specifically is he eating . Lots of chicken and fishes and white meat . And does he take any sleep aids . So the president , first, i have to admit to you, i see what he eats on the plane some. He eats the same food on the plane which is fairly healthy, minus the desserts that we get. I have not been as actively involved in his diet as i will be in the year to come so i dont have a lot of information on that. He has asked me to get the nutritionist involved which has given me permission to get involved in that and i will. So ill have more information only next year. What was the next question . Oh, sleep aids. The president does take some ambien as we all do sometimes when we travel. When he travels from one side to the other side of the planet, i recommend everyone on the plane take a sleep aid at certain times so we can try our best to get on the schedule of our destination. So he has on those occasions done that. What about at the white house . Only during travel. How much sleep does he get on average . He doesnt sleep much. I would say that this is just my guess based on being around him. I didnt ask him this question so i could be wrong but i would say he sleeps four to five hours a night. He is probably been that way his whole life. Thats probably one of the reasons hes been successful. Me personally i need a lot more sleep than that. He is one of those people just doesnt require a lot of sleep. Can you say whether your prediction of good health to come still holds if he doesnt make changes to his diet . And can you tell us how long the examination was start to finish and how many people were involved . So i dont know. It will depend. This Time Next Year well do a lot of same tests. The cardiac assessments and everything else. When we get the objective data, well look at it and recalibrate. If hes made a lot of changes, i assume hell be in even better shape than he is right now. If hes eating better and hes lost a few pounds. Even if he hasnt, i wont make that assessment without doing a lot of the objective testing that we did this time. The other question . How long was the entire right. And how many people were involved. It lasted about four plus hours. So i think we were there, well about, four hours, i think. And i had a total of i believe 12 consultants involved in it. I dont execute these physicals in a vacuum. I have a lot of specialists available to me. On a daytoday basis, i am somewhat of a quarterback with regard to his care. So i spent weeks speaking with consultants and trying to figure out how the plan his exam appropriately and what was appropriate for his exam. It was a team effort with a lot of the physicians at walter reed who did a good job helping take care of him. Was there anything that the president or anyone else physically said for you not to mention today . Absolutely not. As a matter of fact, theres a lot of things here, i said are you work me mentioning this . He said absolutely. I dont care. Go ahead. A followup on that. Some of the president s friends have told reporters in the past, they think he is a germophobe. He uses purell. As many hands as he shakes in a day, he would be a fool not to. The more he can wash his hands and use purell, im encouraging that. I wouldnt say that he shouldnt be doing that. I would like him to continue to be a germ phobe. How would you characterize his health . I would say based on his cardiac assessment, hands down there is no question that he is in the excellent range if a cardiac standpoint. Thats not me speaking. Thats objective data. You can look at the data that was collected. He would definitely fall into that category. Dr. Goomta . Was that just cardiac or everything . Look at his vision. Hes 71 years old and his bilateral uncorrected vision is 2130. He can drive without glasses. A lot of people his age cant do that. If you look at a lot of things across the board, he is very healthy. So thats why i put out in the statement that the president s health is excellent. His Overall Health is excellent. Are there a few things he can do to make himself healthier . Absolutely twflt diet and exercise. Hes tracking it and im tracking it but overall he has very good health. To be clear though, he is taking a cholesterol lowering medication . He has evidence of Heart Disease and he is borderline obese. Can you characterize that as Excellent Health . I think based on his current cardiac study, his heart is very healthy. Those are all things were looking at. Youre a neuro surgeon. There are stroke issues there, too. But were focusing on his cardiac health. As an indicator of what the rest of his Vascular Health might be like, he has no evidence of vascular disease. His heart exam was in the excellent category for his age and sex. So i think that despite that, that youve mentioned, i think a decent job with his cholesterol. I would say the dose of his cholesterol medicine is very lowest takes a very low dose so we have a lot of trumroom to increase it. Most cardiologists would prescribe a hire dose to start with. So i think his ldl will fall even more. And if we do the diet and exercise, i just dont think that he has much room to do anything else. You just said there were stroke concerns . No no. I was talking to dr. Gupta saying it is not just the heart that hes asking questions about. I understand hes asking questions Vascular Health including Heart Disease and stroke. Im saying were looking at his Vascular Health overall and it looks very good right now. What about potential diabetic changes as a result of his weight what about potential, because of the weight as he gets older . Sure. Thats always a possibility. Well monitor that. But right now his hemoglobin a 1 c is normal. Right now he has no diabetes at all. It will be a routine thing that well do every year. If it becomes a problem well address it. Did you test his hearing . I did not. I will test it. The only reason i didnt was because i didnt have enough time to do it in this particular exam. The exam was pretty packed and we had to make some decisions on what we could and couldnt do and hearing seemed low on the priority list and it is something i can do at any point. We will do that. I generally do that. Thank you. Does the president , when the president has his colonoscopy at the next physical, will he be sedat sedated . Thats up to the president. I would recommend that he is. Ive had patient dozen both. Im a big fan of the optical colonoscopy. I will recommend if he does it next year, that he be sedated. Part of the Decision Making process on handing over power . Ill be making recommendations on that with the chief of staff and the National Security adviser. I wont make the decision but ill be part of the discussion. Dr. Jackson, thank you. You stay president was the one who requested the cognitive test. That wasnt necessarily needed for someone of his age. Did he tell you yes wanted it done . Theres been a lot of speculation out there about his cognitive state. Was he upset with that talk . What were the discussions you had when he told you, this is why he wanted to do it . He wasnt upset but that was part of the process. This has been the narrative for a while and i think he saw doing the physical as an opportunity to put some of that to rest. And i think he wasnt the least bit concerned that he had anything to hide. So he actively asked me to include that in it so we did. So i think was there any one incident that made him say this is something i want to do . Or just a collection of voices, of criticisms or guesses . Not that im aware of. He didnt mention one particular incident to me. I was going over his physical exam with him. I was giving him a rundown of what we would do and he asked me, could i include this in the assessment . So wasnt driven by anything that had just happened or anything he had heard. I have no idea. He didnt discuss it with me. He said, hey, can we do this so we did. On the president s stress level in your conversations, did he press any change in how stressful this job or lack of stress in his experience as a result of being president . No, no. I talked to him sometimes about stress. Just because i think it is my job as his physician to bring that up as do i with many other members of the administration. Ive never seen the president stressed out about too much. I think the one thing that ive noticed about him that i think is unique, this is just my personal opinion. Nothing to do with my medical assessment. I think one of the things he has that is unique that i think is probably, i would just assume has led to some of his success over the years, he has a very unique ability to get up in the morning and reset. And ive seen it before. Things are going on. I think a lot of people around him, myself if i were in that situation, i would get up the next morning. The next day would build on the day before and i would start getting more and more stressed. He has a unique ability to push the reset button. He gets up and starts a new day. That i think overall that has helped him with his stress level, made him healthier from a stress standpoint. Regarding an exercise routine for the president , you said youve had these conversations with him. Can you take us through some specific exercises you and the president are considering . I think just, there is a variety of ways to do it. A stationary bike, an elliptical, a treadmill. I want it to be low impact. I dont want him to have joint issues. Well look at how he can do it aerobically. Thats what ill approach him with. The best option. Im not going to comment on it. I might say to it my 5yearold that he watches too much tv. But i dont know how much tv the president watches. Thats something i cant comment on. Im asking because [ inaudible ]. I dont know what hes doing, when hes watching tv. He might be in the office. I dont know. I think he spends probably as much time seated in a sedentary parole a lot of us do who have office jobs and things of that nature. I dont think tv really contributes to that, in my opinion. What is your take of doctors all across the country that they see symptoms of this, that and the other . Symptoms in what way . Symptoms of dementia. I would say that the American Psychiatric association has said so, too. People shouldnt be making the assessmentes about the president unless theyve had the opportunity to get to know him and examine him. In my opinion, thats just tabloid psychiatry. Im not going to address it or fall into responding to those questions or accusations. How would you describe list diet before he became president . Too much mcdonalds . I have the same information that you have. I didnt know the president before january 20th. I never saw him eat a meal before january 20th. So i have no information on that. Thank you. You said youre not sure how much sleep he gets a night but you assume it is four to five hours. Does that concern you . More sleep for all of us would be helpful. It doesnt concern me because i think it is his nature. It works for him. I wouldnt work for me but it works for him. If coget more sleep, that would be great but i dont think it is likely to happen. It is just the way hes wired. The current president about his predecessors exercise routine and does this president ask but how he could follow his predecessors example to be as fit as barack obama was . And the second question, do you keep a tally of how much golf the u. S. President plays . Thats something the press office repeatedly does not tell us. Do you keep a tally . Do you consider that exercise . No, ive not had that conversation. No, i dont keep a tally and yes, like everything else, being on the golf course, there is a certain amount of exercise involved in that. Does the president take any medications that you havent disclosed . He does not. He doesnt take any medications that i have not disclosed here. Give us an idea of what the cognitive exam involved in that halfhour. And does that rule out any further psychological exams . Like i said, it does. You can look online and see what it is all about. You can, it is easy to pull it up. The really the cognitive assessment. You can see what it entails. It does rule out the need to do any other cognitive he is thing. Thats the reason you do it. It is a screening tool. If do you well on it, anything above 26 is normal. If do you, if you get a 30 out of 30, you can confidently assume youre done on the cognitive for now. [ inaudible ]. Twitter doesnt involve me as doctor. Thank you. The president is the first lifelong tee totaler and nonsmoker to sit in the office since jimmy carter. Can you say thats extended his life in any way and makes him unusually healthier for his age . I would say in my opinion, it has had
