We are expecting him to make a phone call in this hour to the egyptian president to, you know, condemn the terror attack and reach out in sympathy. The president has also seized to further his own immigration agenda. Look at this tweet. He says i will be calling the president of egypt to discuss the tragic terrorist attack with so much loss of life. We have to get tougher and smarter than ever before. God bless the people of egypt. We are officially putting iran on notice. You saw that was february 1. Flynn resigned after a conversation he had with a russian ambassador. He denied he discussed u. S. Sanctions with that diplomat. It showed flynn did in fact discuss a possible violation of law. It was the reason the acting attorney general warned the white house could be blackmailed by the russians. For example flynn failed to initially register as a forbe agent. They received more than 500,000 from a turkish owned company. His firm was lobbying on behalf as flynn was getting classified intelligence briefings. Flynn was the reason President Trump pressured the then fbi director james comey. Comey told congressional hearing that the president asked him to drop that russia investigation because of general flynn. We have not just one but two great perspectives to hash out this development. When you hear this news that flynns lawyers are no longer sharing information with team trump what does that tell you . Is. My first reaction is to agree with what the New York Times analysts said they thought it was an indication of cooperation. It could be another defense fund. We really dont know. I think its wise how cautious. When youre cooperating what enticed you to talk and comply . I had already broken up. Fortunately all of that was recorded. Thats really when i had try today brace them and tried to get them all to do the right thing. I told them i was going to go to the prosecutors and find out what they were looking at and did it very openly. They spent a month trying to figure out what to do with me. I dont think that the cooperation has been signed and sealed yet necessarily but i think thats the most likely interpretation of whats going on here. And if thats correct then its very bad news for President Trump and those around him. And its also my understanding that you say mueller may not give a deal to flynn unless he implicates someone. Thats correct. I had the opportunity years later of working with bob on an investigation. I know how he rolls. He is not going to hand out these cooperation deals like christmas candy. On the contrary and its Standard Operating Procedure you have got to rollover on somebody up the ladder. In the same way john cooperated against those above him and ultimately lead to the resignation of the president. I think mueller will want something on trump himself. Wow. So taking that and john dean back over to you, if that is the case, if he has a roll on someone higher up the ladder, how do you know that a cooperating witness is telling you everything he or she actually knows . There are conversations where the prosecutor has the gd idea ocht nature of the witnesss testimony and theres a written agreement that will formalize that. So its very hard to back down and the prosecutor has a good idea of what they are getting when they give that exchange. So that really isnt a mystery at all. It will be how effective he or she might be as a witness will be some what test but not fully tested. What about the mike flynn jr. Factor . He has expressed concern recently over his son that prosecutors might bring charges against his son. How might his son be a factor as he and his legal team move forward . Brook, its another classic prosecution tactic in order get your desired cooperator to flip. I defended someone in the enron case. It includes some of those working for bob mueller here. So you apply the pressure of the family members. It encourages the desired cooperate to to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. I think it could very well be going on here. So thats a potential. Isnt it also so significant, we talked about charges all former Trump Associates but this is a retired three star general. It is someone who has been loyal for so long and what he could potentially offer is much bigger than all three of the others. I think thats probably true and his time with trump is fairly extensive. He is there early in the campaign and then goes right into the white house with him. So yes, he is probably the strongest witness and looks like the one that mueller is most interested in. He already indicted manafort and there is probably talk before that was handed down. It didnt make him pause to with hold any indictment there. So i think, yes, this is a good witness with and if indeed this has happened it is going to change the dynamics of the case very radically. All right. Thank you both so much. If you dig into that you will note when you go into the cases there are four consecutive sealed cases that are right there that are currently sealed and undisclosed. I predict that one of those cases is against general flynn and his son. I think you have hit the nail on the head. The fact that he sees his son in the cross hairs will be a major reason. It is a major new storm cloud. What would be the reason that manafort and flynn have blasted bob mueller so publicly . I think they are doing it because they think favor for a federal pardon. First of all i think the president will pardon them. And a lot of these are parallel cases for state prosecutions. So i think they are try to go play the long game. They are really shooting themselves in the foot. Its never a good strategy. How do you know it is revealing anything here. The reason is because they know and talk to a witness they have a ground swell of documents they have gotten through documents and subpoenas and understanding how the witness is cooperating or not cooperating. One of the reasons they got him is because they had information they knew he was committing a violation of the false statements act. So they have all of the information at their hand.
