yesterday, we did deploy, you know, tear gas and smoke in relation to the violence occurring towards the officers at the time. as you know, several of our officers were struck with bricks and metal pipes and we had several officers injured, both yesterday and we had two officers injured today. >> so i guess the question is, why not arrest more people? >> well it's just hard to, with crowds this size, you know and to maintain the safety of the community and the peaceful protesters, it's hard to self go if and make, you know, the large mass arrests. we do try to pick out the people that are, you know, specifically causing damage to property and are looting so that we can try and make sure that those specific people that seem intent on, you know, committing crimes are arrested for the actions that they are taking.
