once this is over, people will want to know how many of the group that got involved in the attack, this hardline militant group, how many of them managed to escape and once that is done, there are bigger question is that the philippines government have tienza and one is how this terrible battle which has caused so much damage was allowed to take place. it was supposed to be a routine operation to detain opportunistically, they only just found he to detain opportunistically, they onlyjust found he was there, perhaps the most notorious leader 110w perhaps the most notorious leader now the group to ta ke think there was a plan by the group to take over marawi and that they happen to pre—empt it. that may be true but it has been a very destructive operation. the bigger question is light, having heard what tiger woods has had to say about the situation because they know he has been going through some problems, that he had surgery recently on his back and it is reasonable to assume that he might well have been taking medications, perhaps pain medications, perhaps pain medications as a result of that surgery. he had to pull out of the tournament because of his back pain earlier in the year and he has said that he planned to make a comeback, that he planned to make a comeback, that he planned to make a comeback, that he was going to see this through as far as the india's silicon valley, famous for its it parks and gleaming skyscrapers. the booming economy means over the last 15 years, its population has almost doubled. but , the city's water supplyjust can't keep up. sanjoy majumder has been to find out more. morning rush—hour. thousands of these tankers crisscross the city, bringing water to homes as well as offices. this is how most of bangalore gets its water supply. this tanker has pulled into the filling station. it is filling water from a well which is essentially a pipe that is drilled deep into the earth, sometimes to depths of more than 1000 feet to extract the brown water. once it is filled, it moves across the city. bangalore is one of india's fastest—growing cities, known as its silicon valley because it is the hub of the it industry. a vibrant, modern and global city. but its traditional water sources are shrinking and increasingly are contaminated. so many people now depend on water delivered by private tankers. owned by a clutch of operators who control supply and, it is alleged, prices. if they do not supply the water, there is no waterfor them. he is a software professional living in an upmarket gated community. supply. there are about 500 million litres of water which need to be expected. if they dry out, the city starts to lose its lifeline of water. the crisis is how to keep this alive. bangalore has been a pioneer in water management since the 1890s. it has to start to become a pioneer in water management to solve the crisis. something the city needs to do quickly or it could soon completely dry out. it's almost 100 years sincejohn f kennedy was born. the young and charismatic politician was a6 when his life was cut short by an assassin's bullet. while he only served 2 years as president, he is clearly identifiable byjust three letters — jfk. here's a look back at his life. ask not what your country can do for you, ask which you can do for your country. i believe that this nation should millions — but the man himself is a bit of a mystery. well, a new book sheds some light on a young dylan. it's a collection of images by ted russell, a former life magazine photographer who met the musician in the early 60s. the photos are on display in new york — where we caught up withmr russell. i think the first time i ever heard of bob dylan was when a publicist called me up and told me about this very talented up and coming folk singer that columbia had just signed. he told me that he was very unconventional, wearing funny clothes, funny cap and so on and he told me that i could catch him at stoke city and i performed tim —— photographed him in performance and i spoke to him backstage and said i would like to do a story on the struggles of an up—and—coming folk singer trying to make it in new york and pitch it to major magazines. so he went along with that. we went to meet in his apartment within a couple of days when i arrived, i was greeted very cordelia and he was very hospitable and friendly. i told himi very hospitable and friendly. i told him i would like him to pretend i was not there. myjob was to be a fly on the wall and photograph real moments. i was a jazz aficionado and had been for years. i knew nothing about folk music, i was just in the right place at the right time by accident, just a fool ‘s work, nothing but phil ‘s work. by 1963, he was already a star and my —— life magazine took an interest in him when he was presented with an award ata when he was presented with an award at a civil rights dinner. i photographed him with james baldwin and they seem to get along well. i had a series of assignments in europe. just forgot about them. put them ina europe. just forgot about them. put them in a filing cabinet and forgot all about them for years and years. everyone ask me, what was bob dylan really like? i have not got the faintest idea. absolutely none. there was no interaction, i do not make small talk anyhow, so i looked through the viewfinder and myjob was to look for every subtle nuance, every meaningful glance, anything i could see in the viewfinder that was shooting and i concentrated on that, came up with a bunch of candid pictures and 61 years later, eve ryo ne pictures and 61 years later, everyone seems to like it. and a static look back there. you have been watching newsday. stay with us.. great to have you with us.
