And across the country we currently have place. Some of those are severe more than 250 Flood Warnings in warnings, three in scotland and two place. That means flooding is in wales. There are 30 Flood Warnings across the mythenroide. Here at the river whole of yorkshire this morning. Calder, the water level is at three york is also an area of major metres. Benjones will have the weather among the villages here, who are forecast for us, looking ahead, in pretty exhausted from the effects of storm ciara last weekend, when the about five minutes time. The United States is going to airlift its citizens water was waist high. The army has from a cruise ship, which has been quarantined in japan. 355 people onboard the diamond princess have been infected now gone but i am told there are with the coronavirus, including three of the 78 british passengers and crew. There are also concerns across the whole of Rupert Wingfield hayes is in yorkshire today, there are 30 flood yokohama. I think i can see the ship warnings in place, the river ouse behind you. What is going on with the passengers . Do you know how to near york is also very high and british passengers are going to get could reach the levels it did in off, for example . The british 2000. That was when they were devastating floods in and around york. Weve pretty much had 2a hours passengers. We dont. We have to things going on here. Basically, we of rain now. Where we are, we are in have the americans, and i think the American Government has decided that a valley. All the rain flows down, their passengers, the american citizens on board the ship, are not it is coming here and residents tell safe, but the virus may still be me that when flooding happens it circulating around the trip, and thatis happens very quickly. An anxious circulating around the trip, and that is why they have been the first to send our crops. They are on their wait. Leanne, thank you. Way here now. We understand the in a few minutes time well be americans can be taken off and speaking to simon calder, evacuated tonight. The canadian whos the travel editor government under the hong kong at the independent, government under the hong kong about the expected disruption government has said they will follow with evacuation flights. The foreign to transport today. Office, at the moment, is saying the United States is going to airlift its citizens that it office, at the moment, is saying thatitis office, at the moment, is saying that it is equally concerned about from a cruise ship, which has been the safety of the british passengers quarantined in japan. 355 people onboard on board and is working closely with the diamond princess had been diagnosed with the new coronavirus. The japanese government to come up with a solution. But they havent said yet whether that means they are going to send an aircraft here to pick up the 57 british passengers our correspondent Stephen Mcdonell and 21 british crew. At the moment, joins us now from beijing. Their situation is that they will have to stay on board. That will be 355, and what happens to british at least until wednesday, the 19th passengers . When american passengers may be being taken off the ship . of february. As soon as the us go home was not anybody who test positive for the virus will go to government said it didnt believe that the quarantine on that ship was hospital, and those who are in close working and in fact not only was it contact with somebody who is not working, but its citizens were positive, say a partner orfamily endangered on board that ship, so it member, will be quarantined further. Rupert, thank very much. We will seems that by remaining on this ship docked in yokohama, you could carry on with that story, and we actually get the coronavirus, they spoke right at the start of this to david abell, a passenger aboard the are taking their people off and other countries have started diamond incessa nt will following suit, saying that they are david abell, a passenger aboard the diamond incessant will be speaking to him again later to talk about going to sound flights in as well stop i think it looks like they are conditions, what is going on, and going to have to get everybody off how increasingly frustrating it must be for the passengers. Diamond that ship and what will happen, no princess. Doubt, is that they were men and up friends of the tv presenter Caroline Flack have been paying going into quarantine upon arrival in their home country. So the poor tribute to her, after she was found dead yesterday. People on board, apart from having the strictly come dancing judge Bruno Tonioli tweeted, almost got through the quarantine on reading and seeing all the ship, they will then head into a the heartfelt messages on so many accounts just shows how popular plane, fly home and resume and loved Caroline Flack was. Such fun times and memories. Quarantine. Meanwhile, elsewhere, like in beijing where i am, anything fellow itv presenters ant and dec said, we are both devastated but normal life. City is very quiet. To hear the news about Caroline Flack. It is beyond sad. All the major cities in china are beyond words. So tragic. Essentially shut down and it is a rest in peace, caroline. Long way from heading back to anything like normal life. And love island winner amber davies simply put online that this will hurt forever. We will be speaking to one of the caroline had stood down from the itv 2 show back in december passengers, actually, we have been speaking to david abell who was on after being charged with assaulting her boyfriend. She was due to stand trial next month. Board the environment princess right joining us from our london newsroom from the start, and we will be is honey langcaster james, a psychologist who speaking to him later a bad situation there as well. About worked on love island. The situation. Storm dennis is expected to cause widespread disruption to flights and Rail Services today. Lets speak now thank you very much indeed for to simon calder, whos the travel editor at the independent and joins taking the time to talk to us. Once us from our london newsroom. Good morning, thank you for getting up good morning, thank you for getting up brightand again, this shows the incredible good morning, thank you for getting up bright and early to speak to us pressure that some people in the this morning. Just how bad is the media spotlight face in their lives . Situation likely to be today . Lets start on these guys, because that well, i think we need to be very was a huge problem yesterday. We had careful to speculate, really, about what was in her mind, about what led about 350 flights cancelled. The up what was in her mind, about what led up to this. One of the things we know about Mental Health when skies. That means 50,000 people out of position, including some who late somebodys Mental Health deteriorates, and especially when it yesterday evening coming into gets to the point where they are gatwick were diverted to places such considering taking their own life, is that there is often a lot of as cologne in germany, and to paris. Factors, a lot of things that have so they will be waking up in the let up to date. I think it is wrong place, along with many other natural that when somebody dies, people today. 170 cancellations i especially in tragic circumstances, have counted so far today, it isa especially in tragic circumstances, it is a natural human response to try to point the finger of blame in representing at least 25,000 one direction and say that it was passengers, most of the problems on this order. But the reality is, im easyj et, passengers, most of the problems on sure there were lots of things that easyjet, who are counselled 118 flights. Most of those from from led up to this. Undoubtedly, one of gatwick, but also luton. British the things we know about going through a high profile court case, airways has cancelled 50 flights especially when you are a public altogether, mostly from heathrow but figure, is that it is very, very also a number from stressful. There is a level of altogether, mostly from heathrow but also a numberfrom gatwick, crucially including a future needed departures. So many families embarrassment, humiliation, coupled with, often, advice saying not to desperate to get to their skiing talk it publicly, not to answer holidays, because it is half term for lots of schools, but they will comments, and a problem with that of not be getting anywhere today course is that when you are in a because a lot of the cancellations situation where you dont even feel we re because a lot of the cancellations were actually flights people had able to talk about how you feel, or been rebooked on after yesterdays flights were cancelled. If we look perhaps say what you want to say or put aside your own story, that can be so, so stressful for people. So at the railways, well, it isnt quite as bad as last sunday yet. Although we shouldnt speculate about what was going on for caroline, what was going on in her storm ciara last sunday basically mind, ithink caroline, what was going on in her mind, i think it is fair to say that we do know that in general, those compelled all the train operators to kinds of experiences in life can be say, if your journey very, very difficult for people to compelled all the train operators to say, if yourjourney is not necessary , say, if yourjourney is not necessary, dont trouble. The cope with. The importance of talking company which runs the main east to people, if you have problems, is coastline is basically saying the well known. I read a quote from same thing again. There are specific caroline that she had posted on problems between leeds and rochdale, instagram back in october, when she crucially through Hebden Bridge and said when i reached out to someone they said i was draining. I hate the Calder Valley, but has no trains at all common bus replacement talking about my feelings. My biggest fear is being a burden. It services at the moment, because the roads are as too dangerous. The line is so important, isnt it, but people are listened to . Yes, one of the things we know about when in nottingham is blocked which is someone is suffering with the mental causing problems of the east Midland Health is that they often feel like line from london to sheffield. We they are a burden, and sadly there also have problems in wales, quite a are some people who find it very lot of them still, left over from difficult to cope, which is why it last weekend in mid wales and north is important to speak to the right wales, but also the line from person and to reach out for help for shrewsbury to newport is now somebody who has the confidence and blocked. And then if you are anywhere in the south west of the ability to cope with that. I england and you want to travel by a lwa ys the ability to cope with that. I train, the advice is probably dont. Always recommend to people to try resources such as the samaritans, the line, the main Great Western for example. I know there are line from london and birmingham down others, people can contact through through taunton to exeter is blocked the bbc to get other resources. Around the tiverton area, and there there are people who are trained, are also problems in dorset, who are able to cope about, wiltshire and hampshire, with lots of speed restrictions, and im sometimes our nearest and dearest worry about us to such an extent afraid as the day develops we will see the usual crop of trees and that they feel a bit overwhelmed by it. But that isnt because you are a sometimes trampolines across the lines. Finally, the ferries. I burden, if youre struggling with your Mental Health. Its just listened to the shipping forecast because everybody struggles with the just under an hour ago on radio 4. Dialogue around this. There are a it sounded like a horror novel. If lot of very sensitive issues to get around. That is why you need to you are in shipment the good news is speak to a professional. One of the the gales are only force eight. Things that i am really keen to get everywhere else, it is horrible. The across here is that being in the fds has just counselled a couple of public eye, it doesnt make you its daily ferries to calais, but pm immune to all of these stresses and says the 6 a0am from dover to calais strains that we face in everyday life. Difficulties with our will be going as normal. Good luck, relationships, difficulties with a everybody. Welcome and encyclopaedic job, something happens that you dont want other people to know knowledge of all those problems, off about but because we live public the top of your head from memory lives now, with social media, we just very briefly, obviously this is face that. But then on top of that, out of the control of the travel companies and allies. How do you i think there are additional stresses and additional patches that stand with insurance if you need to come from being in the public eye that many people do not understand make a claim . And dont seem to appreciate. Quite often people get criticised, well, what have you got to worry about . You are on the red carpet or you are airline has very good looking or you are glamorous, or whatever. But very good looking or you are glamorous, orwhatever. But this very good looking or you are glamorous, or whatever. But this is really another reminder, i think, that people in the public eye are human, just like everybody else. And i think we do need to take some simon, as always, thank you very much indeed. Rival airline personal responsibility for the comments that we share, to think about what we are putting out on heres ben with a look at this rival social media, for example. And i airline mornings weather. Also think there needs to be better were going watch carefully. An rules and regulations around that. Awful lot to get through. We have to again, that is not to say but that was a causal factor here but i think we are talking about those issues as start with breaking news. The met a result of this very, very sad and tragic event. Honey lancasterjames, office has issued a red warning. This doesnt happen all that often. Thank you very much indeed for taking the time to talk to us this this doesnt happen all that often. This is the highest tier of warning the met office will issue. Lots of morning. You should if you or someone you know has been it across parts of south wales, affected by the issues raised this particularly up over higher ground. By the issues raised this morning, you can find help some flooding, likely to be more but this kind of warning means there is and support on the bbcs actionline website, at bbc. Co. Uk actionline. A significant risk to life. Check thats the address on the screen. Details of that on the bbc weather website but that warning in from the met office. The extra rain comes there is so much going on with the after a lot already. Over 300 flood weather. Good morning. Flood warnings at the moment across england, wales, and parts of scotland. You can tell this is a severe and developing situation. Warnings from the Environment Agency lets look at what is going on. This or the authorities in scotland and storm dennis. Still bringing some wales, trying to take it all different warnings. This one issued very strong winds, we have to say. In the last hour by the met office. Its a red weather warning, the this type of cloud, the slow moving highest tier of warning. It is the band of rain which you can see on the radar picture. We are parts of south wales. This is the particularly concerned about it. The area that is covered by that warning. Essentially its the south downpour still coming down. That rain will continue its progress wales valley. That rain is started south east, very slowly i have to say through the rest of today. Really soggy indeed across a good to ease opera little. Some fast pa rt really soggy indeed across a good flowing floodwaters. Dangerous part of wales, midlands, down towards the south and east of conditions and some of the rivers. England. That rain lingering. We very much worth not travelling in that part of the world. There is a could see flooding in many places as we go through the rest of today. Danger to life. I will zoom out further north and west, a different story. Things start to brighten up. More, show the weather warnings, we will see some sunshine and parts of southern england, northern showers. Some of those heavy, with england as well. And then we have hailand showers. Some of those heavy, with hail and thunder. It is another the warnings from the environment windy day. Gusts of 40 50 miles per agency and the authorities in hour. Particularly in association scotla nd agency and the authorities in scotland and wales, Flood Warnings, with the rain band and temperatures severe Flood Warnings, five of them at the last count. That is where dropping as the day wears on. As we go through this evening, the rain flooding is already occurring or the risk of loading occurring is over will clear the south east but this area of low pressure passes close to the of scotland. Another swathe of the coming hours. You can see a lot of different warnings to content strong winds. Scotland, 75 miles per with at the moment. This is whats going on. Storm dennis up to the hour across the north to orkney as north west. This cloud has been well. That could cause some further bringing rain. You can sit the radar. You can see a linejust damage. It does stay windy. Perhaps bringing rain. You can sit the radar. You can see a line just about here of intense downpours. Not as windy by the end of the night, some clear spells and accompanying note, some squally showers, some of those wintry, a winds. Wind gusts of 80 miles per fairly cool night in a cool started hour. Really rough conditions out tomorrow. Tomorrow is another windy there, appalling if you are day. Not as windy as it has been. A travelling. The rain really hangs on across the south and south east of mixture of sunshine and showers, england throughout the rest of the most frequent in the west. Not as day. Further north and west, things many across eastern parts. Top brighten up. Sunshine and showers, temperatures a bit lower than they heavy with hail, thunder and wintry have been for some, particularly in showers. Pretty windy out there the south with values between seven and 10 degrees. Just a reminder. Again. 45 55 Miles Per Hour but some that red warning from the met office for a lot more rain in the south of spots will see wind a little stronger than that and temperatures wales. There is a danger to life if you are in that part of the country. Between six and nine degrees. Its worth in touch with the through this evening, that rain will pull away from the south east of warnings. Are worth staying in england but as our area of low touch. Pressure, storm dennis passes close well be back with todays main to northern scotland. Strong and news stories at 6 30. Time now for the film review, with mark kermode and jane hill. Not as well as we were ten sent to earth in order to get away from evil forces, teams up with a likeable sheriff but soon days ago, thats for sure. So what finds himself the subject of the attentions of a very evil scientist played byjim carrey, is the latest youve been told. Never knowingly understated. Heres a clip. American citizens who might be taken off the ship, what can you tell us . That is confirmed, the americans we re that is confirmed, the americans were tested negative, they are leaving the ship today. There are two aircraft that have been sent and understand have now landed in im going to give you five seconds yokohama, im not sure which airport to tell me where it is five. Ok, i dont know what but that doesnt matter. They are youre talking about. Four. Hey, tough guy, im a cop, being taken and youre threatning an officer. But that doesnt matter. They are being ta ken out. But that doesnt matter. They are being taken out. Weve been told the how can you threaten canadians are sending aircraft over somebody who never existed . Three. Come on, wrack your brain to repatriate the canadians. You might be able to come up with some lame excuse to go australia has sent a specialist to on living, in two. One. Wait, dont hurt him assess the situation and see what screams remains for them. The british were now, weirdly enough, that reaction, when the first trailers for sonic the hedgehog came out, a bunch of people who were fans not heard. I had a message from the of the game said, thats. You cant do that, thatts ambassador here or the office, lets completely wrong, its too weirdly say. This is what i was told ten human, its teeth are scary, minutes ago. We have been told by it doesnt look like the figure, and the producers of the film said, the Us Government that they are ok, were listening to this. Organising an evacuation flight for were going to go away and were going to redesign the character. Their nationals. This process is were going to make him likely to be in today. We know that. More like you know him, but still through cgi. The last time that happened was with cats. However the general clinical advice when the cats trailer came out of the World Health Organization is everyone said it looked weird and terrible and creepy. They changed it and cats came out not to repatriate. Therefore we are and it was terrible. In the case of sonic, they changed it, and you know working urgently with the japanese what, its ok. Government and other partners to im not going to make any claims explore the options. Other countries for it being a good or great movie. As you saw from that clip, are seeing their people back to jim carrey does what he does, their home countries and take them into quarantine hour. That is what which is to do everything the brits on board would love to like its turned up to 15. Happen to them. And from what youve its pretty much, you know, what youd expect in terms of a game to film adaptation in as much as theyve taken just read there, if the wealth the central character, organisation, the world health theyve put it in a new environment, theyve head to create an awful lot organization are going to strongly of gizmos around him suggest to the brits, its not going to make the plot work. But its not awful. If you think about a genre that has produced a super mario brothers and street fighter, its to happen. It sounds negative and not that level of bad. It is, and i mean this in the best thats what is bringing depression possible sense, bearable. Laughter i love when you say things that in. We understand some 350 people are so going on the poster. Have tested positive on the ship. Ive seen a few clips have they tested regularly . Whats and actually its quite cute, and i actualy laughed going on . The test takes three days, a couple times. Its no more than that, but it could have been so much worse. 2 going on . The test takes three days, 2 three days for the result to come in. We had our throats swabbed yesterday and we are now awaiting the result. Depending on the result lets remember, only a few months ago people were talking about cats as an awards contender, will determine whether we are and sonic the hedgehog allowed to be released on the 19th is way better than cats. Which is also going on the poster of february. If one of us is tested way better than cats. Which brings us onto something a little more high brow, positive, that person will be taken which is emma. Saying that because this version of emma does have a full into a medicalfacility. Hospitals stop after the title. Im not entirely sure why. Im curious why theres a full stop. I dont really know. Maybe its, like, emma and thats are so filled, it would be four all, or emma and this hours away. How are you keeping up is the final version. Somebody pointed out maybe its a joke about it being a period piece because emma, period. I dont know whether thats the. Morale . How are you feeling . Im this is a new version directed by autumn de wilde, who basically plays up the screwball element. She cited up bringing up baby as one really trying to put a brave face of the inspirations. We have as Emma Anya Taylor joy, on. Its not easy. Deep inside, we who was so brilliant in the witch and is a really, really talented actor. The thing that she brings to this is she makes emma pretty unlikable are very on. Its not easy. Deep inside, we are very frightened. Really in kind of an engaging way. Frightened. We dont want to be the point about emma is theres split up. After 50 years being a reason emma has been adapted so many times, both for the big and small screen, because its an indestructible text. Its so clever, so funny, so witty. Together, its just unbearable, it says so much about. Split up. After 50 years being together, itsjust unbearable, the thought of being split up so we are she is quite an unlikable character, certainly at the beginning. She is, and many screen adaptations struggling. As are others on the ship. Its notjust about us. As are and take those edges others. They are also going through the same thing. I really feel very of her and make her somebody whos more loveable. I think this plays up that real. I feel for you. Spikiness, but its at the centre of something which is kind of a much more comedic confection. The same thing. I really feel very real. Ifeel for you. We would love to speak to you on bbc as you can see from some of these brea kfast. Love to speak to you on bbc breakfast. David, it has been a pleasure talking to you again. Best clips, its very bright. Of luck in the next few days. Its heartrending. Youre watching breakfast from bbc news. Its beautifully dressed. Theres a whole thing time now for a look at the newspapers. About everybodys collars are far lets look at the front pages. Too high as if all their heads have been, sort of, put the death of former on platters, and its love island host Caroline Flack features on most of the front pages, a beautiful looking film. Including the sunday mirror, which calls her death a valentine it does change the central the mail on sunday tone of the novel. As i said, it does focusses on the duchess of cambridge, who has spoken play up the comedy. Of her parental guilt. There are some great performances. The sunday telegraph reports anyone josh oconnor is nicely insufferable as mr elton. Mia goth plays harriet, who, suffering flu like symptoms could be ordered to self isolate, should the number of coronavirus of course, emma takes cases in the uk hit the hundreds. Under her wing and tries to educate her in the ways. Tries to fix her up, and finally, the observer reports that the new attorney general is a member of what it calls and she plays her almost like a school kid. A controversial religious sect. From the way she walks, shes almost, kind of, in a playground, so theres an element of caricature thats been brought to this and i dont think professor of its a definitive element, organizational psychology cary cooper is here to tell us thats why i dont think emma. Whats caught his eye. Its not like emma and this is the last word on it. Good morning. Thank you for coming to see us. So many people will be but anya taylor joy is terrific. Its got great use of music. Its got a really talking about this. I had no option great ensemble cast. Bill nighy is terrific in it. And i think it will go down very well with the cinema crowd. To look at this story. Its been and i mean, i laughed all are the newspapers. Its been in the way through and ive seen lots of adaptations of emma. Obviously theres humour in austin but its not laugh out loud humour. All the newspapers. One angle is, often the humour is wry and eyebrow raised, but i enjoyed it there is paragraph here in the and it is slightly confectionery sunday times which says friends have but i did enjoy it. Did you enjoy first love . Pointed the finger at itv4 failing i did but dont think its for you, by Takashi Miike, who made audition and ichi the killer and happiness to protect flack, she has suffered of the katakuris, one of the most nuts films you can imagine. Typical fare, from Mental Health problems and a valentines day love story depression and anxiety. One issue is which starts with a decapitated head rolling Mental Health in the workplace, itv into frame and about a young boxer whos terminally ill and loses his fear. Had the problem with participants then gets mixed up with a young woman who he saves but now its a staff member. 57 because he doesnt have any fear last year of all long term in the uk and, then a plot with yakuzas, corrupt cops, boxing, as i said, things about honour and death and bloodshed. Im already exhausted. All thrown together, and at one point it even turns economy was depression. Its a big into a cartoon. Heres a clip. Issue. And good news is, boys employers are doing things about it, they are really worried. The bigger issue for me is Mental Health budgets. We contribute peanuts, 10 1296 budgets. We contribute peanuts, 10 12 of the nhs budget for Mental Health. No parity between physical and mental illness. Theresa may wa nted and mental illness. Theresa may wanted to do something about it and started the ball rolling. With 40 of morbidity illness is due to Mental Health in one form or another. With dementia or other spill. Or others. This is telling us spill. Or others. This is telling us how important it really is. A lot the thing is, watching of people will have heard the news a Takashi Miike film last night, and it has a big impact, is like being hit over the head with exploitation cinema. That sort of thing. 40 years old, everything is turned up to full volume. I think hes an think about it. Think about the extraordinary filmmaker. Hes 63 years old, this is 103rd film, so he is absolutely no slouch. Kids. Tens of thousands of young if what you like is that violent, kids. Tens of thousands of young kids in school are currently under sensational, romantic, psychotherapy of one form or exploitative, all those things, its another. We have to do something an alternative valentines movie. About the Mental Health of our its completely people. There are places that people the opposite of emma. Im not recommending it for you because i dont think youd like it, but if youre a Takashi Miike fan. Youll love it. Affected can do. You know whats this is physical health, this next going to be in this. Story. Im sorry about being health which brings us nicely to the subject of best out, because this crosses oriented but im a professor of all forms of genre. Parasite, clearly the best thing out health and wellness. Researchers in cinema and has just won the oscar for best film, from the university of southern the first film entirely in a foreign california looking at the rate of language to do so. At one end of the scale, 166 year old i did, even though theres a couple of moments of. Was found to have a biological age elements of blood where i had of 114. To look away, but as a story i thought it was so clever, was found to have a biological age of 114. One person who was 66 yea rs of 114. One person who was 66 years old. In another person aged 59 so interesting, really well written. Which genre would you say its in . This is where i struggle. Had a biological age of 23. It i have struggled to describe it to people. Exactly. Social satire, id say, depends on a lot of social factors. Above everything. But with a ghost its not just obesity story element in it, depends on a lot of social factors. Its notjust obesity and smoking and drinking and all that kind of with some moments of horror in it . With some dark humour. Stuff, stress, and i love this, it things you recoiled from. Also some family melodrama mixed in there. Says here, they found being a yes, some bits are quite funny. And its visually very striking. Female, you are in great shape here it has the most extraordinary soundtrack byjung jaeil, which, louise, we are in bad shape, being a you know, goes from these piano tunes to this kind of choral stuff female slow down the ageing clock by and the sound of a musical saw. Up female slow down the ageing clock by up to two years while obesity theres so much going on in it, and ive now speeded up by 18 months. Suffering seen it four times i think and its coming into cinemas after its psychological stress increased finished this run in a black and white version. Biological age by around four months and bong joon ho, director bong, said the black and white version and poor childhood health, it makes the shades of grey in the story even more pronounced, accelerates the ageing process. In a so im going to go back and see it a fifth time. Way, all of this stuff is in our i think its perfect. Fascinating. Im interested to see what that control. Its trying to cope with does to it and youre right about the score, stress and deal with it and all that the music is. The music is astonishing. Kind of stuff. Its notjust striking. Drinking and smoking and all that. But that definitely features into actually its a shame its not been picked up on more, it. People who grow old surprisingly the music is brilliant. If you havent seen parasite, go and see it, the best slowly, they are referred to as thing is to go and see it without knowing the story. Absolutely. With Louise Minchin and roger johnson. Good morning, heres a summary of todays main stories from bbc news. Tributes have been paid to the tv presenter Caroline Flack, who was found dead at her home yesterday. People in some parts her lawyer confirmed of the Scottish Borders have been she had taken her own life. Told to leave their homes, the former love island hosts because of rising water Management Company criticised the Crown Prosecution Service over levels. Lets speak now to Mark Mclaughlin an impending trial for the alleged from the scottish environment assault of her boyfriend, protection agency, whos in glasgow calling it a show trial. For us this morning. The cps says it will not comment on the specifics of the case at this time. Will you just give us the latest update on what is going on at the moment . Good morning. It has been a challenging night across many parts of scotland, as we saw storm dennis pass a cross of scotland, as we saw storm dennis pass across the country, bringing with it fairly strong winds and periods of prolonged and very heavy rainfall. Very widespread rainfall, the United States is sending two aircraft to evacuate its citizens combined with melting snow and storm dennis has been lashing large parts of the uk, bringing rain and strong winds. Ground that is already heavily more than 300 flood saturated meant we saw Flood Warnings have been issued by the Environment Agency, disruption across a wide number of including five where theres areas across scotland last night. We a danger to life. Our wales correspondent tomos morgan saw flooding of properties in is in the neath valley for us. Tomos, whats the situation tayside, we have seen towns in the where you are . Perth kinross area affected, and lets speak to julie foley from the Environment Agency, significant travel disruption across who is in our london newsroom. The country. Our primary focus of the country. Our primary focus of the night was on the south of the country, especially in the Scottish Borders region. We saw water levels good morning, and thank you very much for speaking to us. Bring us rising rapidly through the day and up to date with the latest there was a significant risk of situation, because as we said, those red warnings have come into place in flooding in the towns of hike and newcastleton, and yesterday evening the last hour or so. It is a very both of those towns experienced severe flooding, to the point that fast moving developing situation at the authority did recommend to the moment. It is very important residents that they evacuate their that people keep a very close eye on properties. A number of people did Flood Warnings and Pay Attention to spend the night in wrist centres the advice of the emergency with them or with family and services. Weve got hundreds of Flood Warnings and flood alerts out friends. It has been a very challenging night overall. At one across the whole of the country. Point we had 15 regional flood obviously a particular focus across alerts live across the country, 49 those parts of the country like the Calder Valley, which was affected by storm ciara last weekend. This is a National Event and it will be Flood Warnings and those three affecting other parts of the country severe Flood Warnings for oicke and around the thames, there is newcastleton. So there has been particular concern about properties widespread disruption across scotla nd widespread disruption across scotland for the past 2a hours or around temporary and parts of the West Midlands. It is very important so. It sounds like it has been a people stay vigilant and pay tough time for many people. You know how many households have been attention to their Flood Warnings. Directly affected by flooding . M terms of the Scottish Borders, we people stay vigilant and Pay Attention to their Flood Warningslj spoke to an official from the Environment Agency earlier in the week you said that, actually, there know that in hoik, the local was more rain last weekend in storm ciara than had been expected. And that explains why some communities, authority has been having a good, especially further north in england, we re strong dialogue with residents about especially further north in england, were flooded. It seems this time the what the effects could be or are likely to be. We spoke to the intelligence under forecasting has been better and you have got much residents of about a dozen streets, more flood barriers up . We have been we dont know the actual number of working very hard going into storm residents, but certainly a widespread area and a significant number of people who have dennis to make sure we are deploying potentially been affected. Lets pumps, temporary barriers, right look at a little bit as well. What around the country. We have had the support of the military and the about the hours to come. Have you Calder Valley as well. We have been got concerns . Weve still got very ready to respond to this event, concerns, the worst of the rain has working closely with our Emergency Services. As i said, we are still in certainly passed, but there are the middle of the event, over the forecasts still for heavy showers course of the coming days. We expect and where river levels are already rivers to respond, so we expect high, where there is already flooded further Flood Warnings and impacts ground, we could see further impacts on people and property. So how many on further localised disruption. Days could this. Obviously the there remains in force by the met worst of the rain is moving through office a yellow warning for wind, so and has indeed moved through in some that again could bring localised places, but clearly there is a lag disruption to the coast, is that water is running off into particularly the west coast, and the rivers. How many days could this specifically the firth of clyde and director still exist for . We will the solway firth. So we could again see localised disruption and impacts to low lying land and properties, have forces out in the catchment especially on those exposed western areas, whether rivers will respond coasts. Just really quickly, what is very quickly, but then we will have your advice to people who are in larger rivers where it will take danger of flooding or a near time for the rain to impact on those floodwaters. I would certainly advise people to keep up to date rivers and therefore impact on with the latest flooding situation surrounding areas. So we can see by visiting our website. Where there going into today, the rest of is localised flooding, there could be trouble disruptions, so we sunday, into monday, and obviously recovery out into next week. So we recommend that people do avoid driving through floodwaters, to try are only really starting to see the to avoid all those areas together. Impacts of storm dennis as we speak above all, be cautious and dont this morning. Ta ke above all, be cautious and dont take risks. Thank you very much the comprehensive update. Thank you, we can see the impact for ourselves, good luck to everyone. Our wales correspondent thomas 6 34am. Lets round up the mornings morgan is underneath valley for us. Sport. John joins we can see that roads are already 6 34am. Lets round up the mornings sport. Johnjoins us. Good morning. Blocked. What more can you tell us . Liverpool are running away with it well, actually, a bus hasjust left 25 points clear. Unbelievable. Here outside the village of jurgen klopp himself is cold that summerhill and south wales, taking a incredible and sometimes you just number of villages that have been have to take off your heart to a manager and the team, you know, the evacuated from the village. You cannot actually see their village premier league, seemingly the most Competitive League in the world, and but if you come a bit further down liveable make it look like a here, as you can see, the river need ca kewalk liveable make it look like a cakewalk as they continue their is clearly bursting its banks here. Relentless march towards the title. It was astonishing. The number of just down there, there is a row of points that have accumulated at this points that have accumulated at this point of the season, it is more than houses which was badly hit a few any other team has ever done in any yea rs houses which was badly hit a few years ago by storm cullen, and once again storm dennis has hit them hard of yours top five leagues. And they are having to be a related. Just behind the camera here you can europes. They have only drawn one see a number of authorities helping and only drop two points all season. It is an astonishing, you know, not those villages trying to clean up the scene here. In this area is only an astonishing record but astonishing performances. Really prone to flooding and this is they may be 25 points clear at the top one of two areas in south wales to of the premier league table, but liverpool managerjurgen klopp be hit with the Severe Weather flood says the real celebrating can only start once theyve won warning from Natural Resources the title. They didnt have it all their own wales, but is the world s criminal way against the bottom side norwich but sadio mane came off the bench to score the only goal very welsh Environment Agency. Of the game. Klopp described their there is that red warning for rain form as outstanding. Until 11 at the moment. As you can see, the situation here in aberdeen we said here, and you would have is, clearly it is a very bad area asked me, whenever, during my that has been hit with flooding due career, 75 or 76 points, whatever to storm dennis. Now, 76 points after whatever match thank you for that live update. We day, i would can see the impact it is having. Now, 76 points after whatever match day, iwould probably now, 76 points after whatever match day, i would probably have thought, lets round up all the sports news you know, i would day, i would probably have thought, now. John joins you know, iwould be day, i would probably have thought, you know, i would be in the bus lets round up all the sports news now. Johnjoins us this lets round up all the sports news already on the way home drinking and now. John joins us this morning. Celebrating. It doesnt feel at all good morning. Liverpool seemingly like this. How about this for a winner, running away with the premiership . I from burnleys matej vydra against southampton, think we should all be applauding, a brilliant strike, as they won 2 1. Right . I mean that they will be lots that leaves them five of people shutting out the telly, john they have got to be sometimes points off fifth place. In sport when you just hold up your hands and say, whichever team you celtic have a 10 point lead support, this is pretty phenomenal. At the top heading into their match what they are doing. They have only with aberdeen in the scottish premiership after nearest rivals drawn one game all season. They have rangers fell away, they play livingston. And we love a late goal. Won 25 out of 26 matches. It is an well, we had one yesterday, ross county salvaging a 1 1 draw astonishing run going on. And when at home to stjohnstone. Billy mckay with it. You think about the premier league, the best league in the world, and britains kyle edmund is one win the best league in the world, and away from a second atp tour the most competitive, they are title, after reaching the final making it look like a cakewalk. Of the new york open. He beat Miomir Kecmanovic in straight sets and said he was really enjoying his tennis. Speaking of stokes that speaking is this is his first final since he won the european open in antwerp a stoke city supported. Well, it 16 months ago. Hell face italys andreas might be a little while yet, but we seppi in todays final. Can all hope. That is the joy of sport. They may be 25 points clear a home crowd, a world at the top of the premier League Record in her sights. Table but liverpool manager jurgen klopp says the real laura muir won, but she missed out celebrating can only start once theyve won the title. On the worlds best time shed hoped they didnt have it all their own for in the 1,000 metres way against the bottom side norwich at the indoor grand prix in glasgow. But sadio mane came off the bench you can see how hard she was working to score the only goal of the game. In attempting to beat the 21 year old mark, klopp described their form but she was a couple of seconds as outstanding but he refuses to get ahead of himself. Outside the time, as she continues we said here, and you would have asked me, whenever, during my career, 75 or 76 points, whatever her preparations for the olympics. Now, 76 points after whatever match went through the first four ok, little bit down 600, but, yeah, i day, iwould probably have thought, you know, i would be in the bus already on the way home drinking and celebrating. It doesnt feel at all like this. Just wanted to try to run aside as i how about this for a winner, could. I think for where i am out, from burnleys matej vydra against southampton . A brilliant strike. As they won 2 1, that leaves them yes, im with that. I would love to have broken that world record, well is better than to do it here . Almost, but not quite. Another scottish athlete making five points off fifth place. Headlines is muirs training partner jemma reekie. She won the 1500m. Reekie has also broken three indoor records in the past month, so herself is fast becoming something of an olympic hopeful. Celtic have a 10 point lead all while wearing nike prototype at the top heading into their match shoes, but she was quick to dismiss they are behind any improvment. With aberdeen in the scottish premiership after nearest rivals rangers fell away, they play livingston. And we love a late goal. Well, we had one yesterday, ross county salvaging a 1 1 draw at home to stjohnstone. Billy mckay with it. It doesnt happen overnight and there is a lot of hard work involved. Im 21 years old, im the fifth round of the womens fa cup starts today, developing as an athlete and pushing myself to the absolute limits. I with quarter final places at stake, and arsenal against lewes is live just let my legs do the talking. On the the bbc red button later. Just a focus on the does the kick off at1 00. Focus on the nike shoes annoy you in britains kyle edmund is one win away from a second atp tour title, any way . I have not come here to after reaching the final talk about my shoes today, so ill of the new york open. Leave it to the experts to ask he beat Miomir Kecmanovic in straight sets and said questions. There has been a lot of he was really enjoying his tennis. Discussion about the use of nike this is his first final since he won the european open in antwerp shoes and a vapour flight shoes that 16 months ago. Hell face italys andreas i have bought some myself. Have you seppi in todays final. With the olympics round the corner, the chances of making me quicker theres a name to look out for very slim, but, you know that there armand dupla ntis. Are very slim, but, you know that there a re lots of very slim, but, you know that there are lots of trainers available. Absolutely. I do like running in he set a new pole vault world record them. It may be psychological, for for the second week in a row at yesterdays indoor me. Maybe that is the argument with grand prix in glasgow, while there were wins them . They give that extra spring to for laura muir and jemma reekie, two of great britains big middle your heel and propel you down the distance medal hopes in tokyo. Heres joe lynskey. Road. It is worth pointing out that showers wearing spikes, obviously. As you say, there is quite a lot of debate about technology and sports. They are two women from the same it is very interesting. Are they nation and with the same coach, but looking at them . They are. That is in five months time, laura muir and theissue looking at them . They are. That is the issue with the prototype showers wearing. Youre allowed to wear them jemma reekie could face each other up wearing. Youre allowed to wear them up to wearing. Youre allowed to wear them uptoa wearing. Youre allowed to wear them up to a certain point but i think for olympic gold. Laura muir is from april, as you build to the already scotlands european olympics, you have to have shoes champion. Now she is setting up for which have been approved by the athletics board. You know, this is the greatest stage. She ran easily to victory and missed 1000 metres. The whole thing with sport. Marginal not the world record she had hoped gains, i guess uses the latest thing for, but a foundation for what is to that perhaps they are looking up to see if are using them to find that come. On average it is 6 18 months for people being a danger to live. This warning to be out of their home, and we have cove rs being a danger to live. This warning covers south wales. Mostly over seen longer than that as well. It is higher ground. Storm dennis worked an incredibly stressful and traumatic time for people, even through that recovery period, because although the flooding has its way. Youre ready saturated affected you dramatically, you are also then being affected by the insurance process. Insurance is an interesting point. Ispoke ground will affect some of the insurance process. Insurance is an interesting point. I spoke to a nurse this week, a man who lived in an end terraced house in lancashire rivers. Some really atrocious who was flooded four years ago, he travelling conditions. Across parts was flooded again last weekend by storm ciara. His insurance access, in order to keep his premium at an affordable level, was eight point £8,500. He said itjust wasnt worth of wales, South West England, i complaining. For some people, the think this is really coming to play. Insurance is just the complaining. For some people, the insurance isjust the most monumental headache. It is really sad to hear that story. Because we met office amber warnings. A really actually have got flattery in place severe situation. I mentioned the at the moment. That sort of thing Flood Warnings. I visited youtubes London Office orkney as well. That could cause to find out how its come of age. Some damage. More showers racing kevin, youtube used to be the place where video went viral, through during the night. Wintry and but now it seems that a lot of that happens on tiktok or facebook. Places over the high ground and what will be a rather cool night with ho how do you feel things have changed . Lows between three and six degrees. Its still going to be very windy the internet has out there, gusts of 40 or 50 miles gotten a lot bigger. It is much easier to make per hour. Top temperatures of eight a beautiful video now than it was ten years ago. 11 per hour. Top temperatures of eight 11 degrees. It looks like staying pretty windy. Some further showers or longer spells of rain at times but in the shorter term, if you are when you look at now what the most in the south of wales, there is a Popular Videos on youtube are, theyre often not these one off, viral hit videos, but coming danger to life, significant from channels producing lots of content regularly and that flooding. Its worth staying in have large audiences. I think youtube has moved from this unintentional kind of quick, short video touch. Thing which we all associate with the early years of youtube to this sort of new world well be back with in which you have creators who have the headlines at eight, businesses and build but now on breakfast, these audiences. Its time for the travel show. And few could have predicted some of the most successful genres. Coming up on this weeks programme tell me about asmr. Electric tuk tu ks. It is almost silent, the suspension asmr is short for autonomous sensory meridian response. It is a genre of video people call is still the same though. Whisper videos where people whisper and, look away now if or do things quietly you dont like snakes. To make audiences react. Laughs. Whispering what sort of things might they do . They might whisper, or cook, or rub things on the microphone. It is a very unusual form of entertainment, but its not designed necessarily we are starting ourjourney to make you laugh or do the things in sri lankas capital city colombo, where the two kings of the road that we think about for traditional entertainment. Its designed to help are the tuk tuks, also known as auto you relax and calm down. Rickshaws or three wheelers. Horn honks. Another big trend is recipes. Ahh and where honking seems making something the Old Fashioned to be a national sport. Way can be time consuming and fiddly. So some of the videos online, there is actually over a million particularly many that have gone tuk tuks here in sri lanka and it viral, make it look very simple. Definitely shows, because these things are everywhere. But is it always possible to do thats a pretty high number what youre watching . Well, chris fox has for a country ofjust over been finding out. 20 million people. Youve probably seen food hacks like these online before top tips for tasty treats the number of tuk tuks hasjumped eightfold in the last 15 years, but are they too good to be true . Videos like this have clocked up causing a little bit billions of views on youtube and facebook, but do of congestion on colombos roads. All the receipes and tips featured actually work, or will they just waste your time and ingredients . And it is notjust the pros. Here is a milk carton flan driving a rented tuk tuk from the lifestyle channel blossom. Is increasingly popular with tourists too. This videos had 17 million views. Why are you renting a tuk tuk today . You put the ingredients what is it about a tuk tuk that made in the carton, microwave it, cool it, and out pops you go, i will get in one a perfect carton flan. Now, i followed this of these today . Video step by step. Ive used the exact same quantities. Now, the first problem came well its because of the convenience when i tried to put this i can stop it wherever in the microwave, because the milk i want carton was too tall, it wouldnt fit. And i can go wherever i want. And that got me thinking, well, having that freedom is really important to you then . How did they fit their milk carton how excited are you honour full of ingredients scale of one to ten . In the microwave . 0h,100. And it looks like they didnt, because if you rewatch the video, youll see that they actually just cut the bottom laughs. Of the milk carton off. Tourists need a local driving not to be deterred, i poured the mixture into a gym shaker license to drive a tuk tuk here, and followed the rest of the video, putting it in the microwave to boil but also some practice. For ten minutes. Ok, this definitely is not and did i get a flan at the end of it . As straightforward as i thought no, i did not. It would be. Next up, gummy bear hacks i think i need some assistance 0k. Thushari has been a tuk tuk easy diy dessert recipes from so yummy. 3. 2 million views. In this video, melting gummy bears turns them into jelly driver for four years. Which you can use to create deserts. Heres my attempt copying exactly what i saw in the video. Turns out gummy bears are actually very thick and gloopy when they are melted, not runny like liquid jelly. Will my spoon go into the jelly just as effortlessly as in the so yummy video . Well, no it will not. Because, as you might expect, female drivers remain a rare siht in sri lanka, but times are slowly changing. This gummy mixture at the bottom say in neutral, otherwise ill of the glass is rock solid. Jump forward, gotcha. Lets have one more. So the horn is my friend. This is from 5 minute crafts. If youve run out of popcorn, why notjust shove an ear of corn in the microwave and it will turn into popcorn . Now, im sure i dont need to tell you that if you put an ear of fresh corn into the microwave it wont come out as popcorn but willjust be hot corn. But i was willing to be proved wrong, so i tried it out in the name of science. Friend, yes. When it comes out, right, so they are your top tips . It is warmer than before laughs im not the only one who has i think i am ready for the road, thank you. Been intrigued by this you really feel that ann reardon is a food scientist and runs a cookery channel on youtube, and shes lack of suspension. Been investigating, too. Will my spoon go into the jelly and there are so many just as effortlessly potholes here, oh as in the so yummy video . Once you reach that level of comfort with driving, well, no it will not. The best thing about driving because, as you might expect, a tuk tuk is that you can just take this gummy mixture at the bottom in all the gorgeous scenery. Of the glass is rock solid. Lets have one more. This is from 5 minute crafts. If youve run out of popcorn, why notjust shove an ear of corn and on my left is the beautiful ocean. In the microwave and it but the gentle ocean breeze isnt will turn into popcorn . Now, im sure i dont need to tell you that if you put an ear of fresh enough to disperse the emissions corn into the microwave it wont come out as popcorn but willjust be hot corn. Produced by the millions of vehicles but i was willing to be proved on sri lankas roads. Wrong, so i tried it out air pollution in its capital city regularly exceeds the levels in the name of science. When it comes out, recommended by the world it is warmer than before laughs im not the only one who has health organization. Been intrigued by this ten years ago the government banned ann reardon is a food scientist the import of the most polluting and runs a cookery channel rickshaws, the 2 stroke engines, on youtube, and shes but several hundreds of thousands been investigating, too. Remain on the roads. Its the fake news of the baking world this is faked baking. The pollution definitely isnt as bad as i thought it would be, but it is definitely palpable in fact i think ijust ate some. The reason why that works is its more clickable, as part of the global fight and clickbait content is currently against climate change, whats currently working sri lanka has pledged on the youtube to reduce its Greenhouse Gas algorithm, and apparently working emissions by 30 by 2030. On facebook as well. Anns been trying a lot of these recipes on her youtube channel, too. Theres one on so yummy this man hopes his invention will where they make cake frosting out help achieve his countrys goals. So his is what you have been working on . Yes, this is our electric tuk tuk, this didnt really look like this of strawberry ice cream. Earlier, it was a very now, ann tried it, old chassis that i used. And it didnt work. Ive also tried it, we basically took the engine off and it doesnt work. Here and fixed the motor having a food science degree, to the old gearbox and then i know what properties different we have the battery pack things have and whether that that is placed under the seat. Would actually work or not. Its actually not possible sasiranga de silva won a un award to whip up ice cream, for creating a simple kit because the fat content isnt high enough. Which converts petrol tuk tuk even if you get the most luxurious ice cream you can get, it will not whip and it will not make frosting. Thats an example of the faked ones, engines to electric. But theres also some which are going to dangerous territory as well. One on 5 minute crafts, theyve one where they put a strawberry into bleach i thought, you know, as an engineer, to make a white strawberry. If a child was to watch that and do if i do my best, to contribute it, they could consume a lot to bring the emissions down of bleach, which is obviously in sri lanka. Not good for them. What do you think it is going there is also a so yummy video to take to get your conversion get where molten caramel is poured over up and running, produced a spinning whisk to make a sort on a mass scale . Of birds nest decoration to put because it is quite high, on top of a dessert. And a tuk tuk is quite a low cost product, so the conversion cost has to be as low as possible for drivers to afford it. So i have been doing so Many Research so i can downside the battery so i can reduce the cost. Sasiranga hopes he can bring the cost of his conversion kit down by a quarter, to the equivalent of about us 1700 or £1300. And heres another molten caramel is hot like, eye catching innovation an emission free electric model. Its hotter than boiling water. So we made a box and put plastic wrap in front of it. The hot caramel melted right through it. While were here, those melted caramel cake decorations i showed, thats not the best way of course the litmus test will be to make those, either. Whether electric tuk tu ks it takes a long time to melt one are accepted by local drivers. This is where the magic happens. Sweet, and usually theyjust burn so i have asked this thushari and stick to the pan. To join me on a taster session. The professional and just as easy so this is it, yeah, a bit different way, according to ann, is to put your sweets in a blender, to what were used to. I am going in the back though. Put a thin layer of that on greaseproof paper and then put it makes a change, to be driven around. In the oven forjust a few minutes. Thats a quick and easy way to make caramel cake decorations that you can try at home. That was chris, and chris is here now. You didnt manage to bring me its so quiet, isnt it . Lunch, though, did you . Compared to the four stroke engine, i should have saved you some its almost silent. Of my sweaty egg flan laughs . Im not sure it looked that appetising what did the companies have to say . Well, 5 minute crafts, which made the popcorn video that didnt pop, they didnt the suspensions still the same reply to my email. Though, still getting rattled around and first media, which runs the so yummy and blossom channel, in the back. Were pretty lucky though, well, they invited me were among the first people to try to the studios in la to prove this electric tuk tuk. That the recipes work, but they said i couldnt film them doing it. They told me they only put recipes in the videos that do work, excellent driving, excellent driving. Although i suspect not as shown so how was it, how did it feel . In the videos because we tried it and they didnt work, and the food scientist, ann, she said some of the recipes, theres no way they would work, even if you followed the instructions and used the most luxurious ingredients. So why are people so busy sharing these videos . I think they are obviously very visual, the videos are very nicely produced. The companies would say that the purpose of this ifeel your pain. Is entertainment, and would you one day like to own one of these . They are to give you maybe cooking ideas and inspiration. And, crucially, most of the people who watch these videos arent actually going to try the recipes, theyjust like the visuals. Keeping up with the pace of technological change can be the issue of affordability difficult at the best of times, will decide whether electric particularly for parents tuk tu ks are ever who want to be able to keep track developed on a mass scale. Of what their children are doing, but here, the projects manager is bullish about the future. How much screen time theyre having, whether we like it or not, whether all the content the future is electrification is appropriate. And never has this been more true of the transportation system. So i think in the next five years than when it comes to video games. Or so, it is going to come so mark cieslak has been looking into the streets, and even at this very problem with a spot of help from one of the best known bikes and even scooters, so it is going to happen faces in football. In the nearfuture, yeah. Five years is ambitious, father of three and ex Manchester United and england footballer Rio Ferdinand is fronting a campaign to encourage parents to learn about the Parental Controls they can but who knows the spirit use in their childrens videogames. I was someone whos been fairly involved in gaming throughout my adult life, of innovation and a smattering and my children play, of political will might be just and we thought weve got a good enough to clear the air in colombo. Balance in our house you get in, you do your school work, you do your chores about the house, and have a balance between the gaming and being outside. But having an understanding of what your children are actually doing, thats always so invaluable to me to understand what i can actually do in terms of controlling what type of games that theyre on. Now, sri lanka is like heaven for nature lovers. Almost half the people who come here do some sort of wildlife activity. Do you think parents have to take more responsibility as far as video games and their children are concerned . You have to take a key interest, like youd take a key interest in your Childs School life, take an interest in their game life because its an integral part this is the edge of sri lankas of their lives nowadays, last primary rainforest, like it or not. Sinharaja. Its a hotspot for biodiversity the get smart about play campaign is the work of the uk games rare plants, unique bird species, amphibians and snakes Industry Trade body. All thrive here. Its so important ecologically, it provides online guides that there are plans to quadruple about Parental Controls on consoles and computers, controls which can it in size. Well, we know that more than half so the forest is also home to bloodthirsty leeches, of parents in the uk in particular have concerns about the amount so i picked up these attractive anti leech socks in the hopes that of time their children and people in their care are spending playing i make it out without any of them games and on screens in general. Attached to my skin. Ridma used to hike and swim this is part of an Overall Society Digital Literacy agenda. In the forest as a child. You know, so, really its so dense. Understanding boundaries, understanding how to protect yourself, understanding how to protect your privacy, yeah. Its part of a wider thing just a tiny amount of sunlight coming through. In society that i think we need he now runs tours of the jungle around the island. Its slippery. The sinharaja forest covers more to really Pay Attention to. Than 8,000 hectares but you do not need to walk very far Research Suggests that up to 99 to spot some wildlife. Of children in the uk aged here, look. It is a kangaroo lizard. Between eight and 15 play video games regularly. Compare this to Research Carried out by the nspcc which found only 19 its tiny it almost doesnt look real. Some of it is after your blood. Of parents with children hes just moving until he can settle down and then he will suck between aged of five and 15 actually blood from me. Use Parental Controls on devices which connect to the internet. But some parents think the way it moves is creeping me out that the Games Industry should bear at the moment and its so small. A greater response ability. Are they trying to empower parents, i shouldnt be scared. When he sucks the blood he will grow three times the size. Or are they passing the buck . And now he is getting they have a purpose and i can feel it. And a responsibility to actually really . Protect the mental what does he feel like . Just a tiny little pinch. Oh, you can see it getting bigger well being of our children. Now he is sucking blood. In truth, every inch of this rainforest is buzzing with life. That is part of their there are plenty of spiders role as i see it. Of course, but were every company that is producing here for something a bit more slippery. Content for our children has to take see there. On that responsibility. Features in games like loot boxes, randomised in game virtual items its a green pit viper. Which can be bought with real world cash, have been compared under the leaf. To gambling, and have led oh, my gosh to increased scrutiny of the industry. Almost the same colour as the leaf. So does it need to clean up its act . Its tiny. Its a big one. If this snake bites me what happens . Its quite painful. It gives you cramp. And like, it depends on your condition. Stay away. Ridmas expert eyes soon spotted we are businesses at the end of the day, and these parental another baby snake on our path. Controls and family controls are important, because you can turn whats the name of this snake . Off in game spending. Thats why the conversation it is an ahaetulla, eye is really important, so it is a shared responsibility. Catcher, eye catch snake. While learning about Parental Controls improves Digital Literacy, perhaps some parents who play video games with their children might because they are used to enjoy the experience as well. Here on the trees at your eye level well, thats it for the short version of the programme. And with this. See . The full length show can be found on the bbc iplayer as ever. The problem is that on the bad days, that scrutiny and attention doesnt go away. It stays with them. The macdonut brothers her tv career went back nearly 20 years. This, tmi on childrens bbc, and then in 2014, she won strictly come dancing. The night she won, elation. But she spoke afterwards of her struggle with depression. Then came the assault charge. She was accused of hitting her boyfriend while he slept. He stood by her, but they werent allowed to communicate before her forthcoming trial. Last night, her Management Team criticised the decision to press ahead with the trial, given her mental state. The Crown Prosecution Service said its deepest sympathies go to the family and friends of Caroline Flack, but added that given the tragic circumstances, it would not comment further on the specifics of the case at this stage. Caroline flack had in recent weeks been advised to stay off social media, but she did post this on instagram. She thanked those who had been kind to her and added another post read simply if you or someone you know has been affected by the issues raised this morning, you can find help and support on the bbcs actionline website. The other main news story. Storm dennis has been lashing large parts of the uk, bringing rain and strong winds. More than 300 Flood Warnings have been issued by the Environment Agency including five where theres a danger to life. We have corrrespondents right across the uk with the very latest on storm dennis. Our wales correspondent tomos morgan is in the neath valley south wales, there is a red weather warning. That is right. Behind me is the road underneath the bridge which goes to a row of 15 houses. That is where 40 residents have been evacuated by the Emergency Services. Some have decided they want to remain but the majority have been taken away on buses to safety due to the nature of this river. The concern the river could get higher as high tide approaches at 11am. The rain that has fallen the past 24 hours and will continue to fall will push the river higher, causing more damage. You can see it streaming across the road, causing issues for residents here. South wales is an where there is a red warning in place. It also has two severe Flood Warnings in place. The other is pontypridd where the high street is underwater. Thank you. Our devon reporterjohn ayres is in bovey tracey this morning, we can see similar issues. We have had heavy rain and high winds in devon gusting up to 70 mph in places. We have had trees down, flooded roads and debris on the road. Coming here, i had to turn around twice because of the tree down and because of surface water. Behind me, this is the river which isa behind me, this is the river which is a tributary. It has flooded the fields behind and this car park. There are homes in that direction and out of shot, i was chatting to a man at that shop who said it is the highest he has seen it and he is worried and keeping a close eye on it. But, on the whole, the general feeling is perhaps the southwest has escaped the worst. Devon and Cornwall Police said there have been no major incidents overnight. The biggest problem is the railway. North of exeter, cali bridge, network rail have put a huge inflata ble network rail have put a huge inflatable flood barrier across the railway. It takes six hours to put up railway. It takes six hours to put up and some time to put down. It will be in place to protect the railway line and electrics. Fingers crossed, they will have that down and it will be ok bye rush hour tomorrow but they advise people to check before they travel. We have an amber rain warning for devon and a yellow warning in cornwall and we keep ourfingers yellow warning in cornwall and we keep our fingers crossed we might get away without Serious Problems here. Thank you. Our reporter leanne brown is in the the Calder Valley. They were hit there last weekend by storm ciara. As we can see from the robust temporary flood defences, they are trying to take no chances. Yes, it has been a worrying night for villagers here. I am by the river called hour. Despite the levels of rain, it is faring better than last week. At the moment, levels are at 2. 8 metres. It needs to be at 3. 8 metres for it to flood so the defences here seem to be containing it. The army have been here all weekend to bolster defences and that has been welcomed by residents here, who are still exhausted from storm ciara, when the roads were turned into rivers and hundreds of homes and businesses we re hundreds of homes and businesses were flooded. That clean up operation will continue. Across yorkshire this morning, we have 35 Flood Warnings. There is still an amber warning for Flood Warnings. There is still an amberwarning for rain Flood Warnings. There is still an amber warning for rain up until 3pm today. The area is not out of the woods just yet. Thank you very much indeed and i know you will monitor developments throughout the day. 355 people on board the diamond princess have been infected with the coronavirus including british passengers and crew. We can get the latest from our correspondence. It isa latest from our correspondence. It is a difficult time for people on board the diamond princess. What is the latest . The latest from here is we have seen seven large buses drive into the parking lot on the dockside. Beside the diamond princess and we believe those buses will evacuate american passengers from the ship this evening. America has said it is sending two aircraft and we think they are on their way and we think they are on their way and will land later this evening. The americans have decided to get all passengers off the ship and fly them home and quarantine them back in the states. Canada and hong kong said they will do the same. So far the British Government said it is deeply concerned about the situation and talking to the japanese government how to resolve the situation for the 57 british passengers and 20 odd british crew but no talk of a flight yet. Some british passengers on board are expressing discontent with the slow pace of the British Government response. We heard on social media today, where i saw dave, who has spoken a lot to the media, expressing his consternation. He said, the british people on board are feeling like they have been abandoned by the British Government. Thank you very much indeed. David was speaking to us earlier, particularly he and his wife being worried about being separated if one should test positive. 50 yea rs should test positive. 50 years together and the heartbreak that would bring. We can catch up with the weather. Storm dennis is still very much in play with five red weather warnings. Good morning. A lot of different weather warnings. Whether warnings and Flood Warnings. This is the first, a met Office Red Warning and we do not get many of these. It is for part of south wales and we saw pictures a few moments ago, significant and severe flooding here and with that the risk to life. That is perhaps the worst affected area at the moment and you can see the area involved, and they will be fast flowing rivers. The time the water ta kes fast flowing rivers. The time the water takes to get into River Systems means problems will continue after the rain stops. We have amber warnings in parts of southern england, wales, Northern England. I think it will come into play here today because that is where it will be reigning longest. We have Flood Warnings from the Environment Agency and authorities in scotland and wales. 330 Flood Warnings. Unusual to see anything like that. Seven of those severe, where there is a risk to life. An awful lot going on. Let me show you the radar picture where rain has already been falling. It has been heavy and persistent particularly in england and wales. We have a narrow band of torrential downpours across the southeast and amongst that, some really gusty winds and atrocious travelling conditions in many areas at the moment. As we go into the afternoon, the rain lingers in the south and east of england. Further north and west, something brighter developing, but with showers, some of which will be heavy with hail and thunder. Wintry showers over high ground in scotland. The wind is the other aspect of storm dennis. Temperatures this afternoon will be between 6 9. This evening and tonight, it will be wet across the south eastern corner but as the passes close to scotland, that will bring more damaging winds here. Perhaps up to 75 mph in the far north. We have rain and numerous warnings and a windy spell to come for some of us tonight. Back to you two. We will be on the bbc news channel until 9am. This is where we say goodbye to viewers on bbc one. Thanks for being with us here. Two main stories. Storm dennis and the death of Caroline Flack. Caroline flacks Management Team have criticised the Crown Prosecution Service for pressing ahead with what it called a show trial against her. The tv presenter took her own life yesterday. She had been due to stand trial next month for allegedly assaulting her boyfriend. In a statement, her team said. They say it. The cps say they cannot comment on the specifics of the case. Friends and colleagues of caroline have paid tribute to her online, calling her fun, kind and brilliant. Were joined now by ash percival, the entertainment editor of huff post, who had worked with caroline. Thank you for coming to talk to us about her. Tell us what she would like to work with. Caroline was exactly as you see on screen. She was fun, she was energetic, the laughter is how i will always remember caroline. That trademark tackle and the news is just absolutely shocking. It is devastating. Trademark cattle. Many fans, manyfans, didnt many fans, didnt she . She had such a presence on social media, so many young fans, the outpourings that we have seen today have been so heart warming to read. She was genuinely a very loved and respected presenter. She also had a passion for love island and apparently used to spend a lot of time debating what was going on. I have interviewed caroline on multiple occasions and flown out to majorca and we have shared cds and people we want to see couple up and the passion and warmth and energy she had for the show shone through and i think that is how she will be remembered. There have been some lovely tributes as i mentioned, those who knew her, including this one. Iain stirling, who she worked with on love island. He tweeted last night saying. You referred to the slow motion walks she used to do on love island . You are fond of them . They became a trademark and we joked about whether it was slowed down or whether she walked like that. I got the trademark laugh back acne which i think i will treasure. Did about what was troubling her at all . I only knew her professionally and it has been a difficult last few months for her and this tragedy is deeply affecting. She had a brilliant career, starting in children tv, then moving onto various different programmes then love island. She started off normal on tmi and then climbed through she went on to extra factor with all the mirrors and appear went on to host on the main show together when dermot leavey left. She has had an varied career. Telesis about love island, we know they took to show off there is no official word from itv whether the cds will continue. There is no official word as to what will happen with the rest of the series. Sony many people involved with that programme paying tribute. She had about influence didnt she . Herstand in she had about influence didnt she . Her stand in Laura Whitmore has posted various things on social media. Her influence was incredible. She will be so missed. Something about watching her with the co ntesta nts, about watching her with the contestants, she had so much empathy. That was one thing i think really shone through whenever i spoke to her, she always had their back and that is one thing that shines through in the tributes as well, all the islanders have been like caroline was there for me, she supported me, she was fearless and she gathered round us to make sure she gathered round us to make sure she was able to navigate, help them navigate the world of celebrity. A p pa re ntly navigate the world of celebrity. Apparently reached out to them when they needed them as well . Exactly. Thank you very much indeed for coming to talk to us about someone you are coming to talk to us about someone you a re clearly coming to talk to us about someone you are clearly very fond of. Thank you. If you or someone you know has been affected by the issues raised this morning, you can find help and support on the bbcs actionline website. Caroline flacks death was announced around tea time last night so it has made all the papers. The death of former love island host Caroline Flack features on most of the front pages, including the sunday mirror, which calls her death a valentine tragedy. The mail on sunday focusses on the duchess of cambridge, who has spoken of her parental guilt. The sunday telegraph reports anyone suffering flu like symptoms could be ordered to self isolate, should the number of coronavirus cases in the uk hit the hundreds. Nowhere near that at the moment. And finally, the observer reports that the new attorney general is a member of what it calls a controversial religious sect. Professor of organizational psychology, cary cooper is here to tell us whats caught his eye. Nice to see you again. This is the express talking about the need for a National Care service. Social care is one of the things that has been very much in the spotlight. Really important, really good piece on this and this was a survey done by carers uk. Its and this was a survey done by carers uk. Its amazing when you look at the facts. Her social care service ru ns the facts. Her social care service runs in love basically. Carers uk see 600 people a day give up work for caring for somebody. 1 million ca re for caring for somebody. 1 million care for over one person. If you are a woman over 50, the probability is you are caring for somebody rather than inajob. You are caring for somebody rather than in a job. Right . You are caring for somebody rather than in ajob. Right . In you are caring for somebody rather than in a job. Right . In other words, enormous figures. Their commitment is worth 132 million to the economy according to carers trust one 32 billion. So what is the contribution of the government . 60 billion only. Shocking statistics. It says almost three quarters of people who become carers will become mentally el themselves. 61 will become physically ill. Here isa 61 will become physically ill. Here is a government thinking logically. We have had this problem for how long . If these women, and it tends to be women, lets say they were caring and not working, if they were actually working, we had a care system, im not saying we could not give some of their errors up, but full time. First of all it emotionally and psychologically depletes them. If they were working, the money would go into the coffers of the treasury. Why are we not putting 80 billion or whatever the figure is . The important thing for our economy, because we have to mention dementia is a big issue. We have not sorted that out and people are suffering more and more. My appeal would be government, put money in but guess what . It will probably pay for itself if you invest now. If you dont, when well still have the burden, the stress burden, of taking a primary care. This is interesting. Great actress. Emilia fox. She did an english degree. Do you remember a year ago there was a top journalist for the financial times, one of the top journalists. For the financial times, one of the top journalists. She is for the financial times, one of the topjournalists. She is a teacher now. It is all about, it is women who, why are women at certain times of age saying to themselves may be you have a presenter on the bbc in your local news. Absolutely. Became a firefighter. I think it is about a sense of purpose. You can be a top lawyer, celebrity, but then you say to yourself, what is my life about . Maybe i should be making hot contribution and doing Something Different. I think women are much more reflective than men in this regard but i think it is useful that people do, at some point in their career, not stay in the same job all the time but think about Something Different. Wouldnt see a brilliant teacher . You would want to teach you science, i know she is only acting. She says she felt it was the time to do it. This is an interesting story. Herfriend died in the Manchester Arena terror attack, i have interviewed her, she is a very inspirational young woman. She interviewed her, she is a very inspirationalyoung woman. She has written a book, she woke up in her hospital, they hugged herfriends as they were going out the arena in the lobby where the bomb went off and she hugged her and herfriend said to her this is the greatest night of my life. She wakes up in hospital, dad sat next to me his head in my hands i felt a sense of fencing is like part of me was missing. Dad, where is nell . Dad said nell died. She has written a book, it has helped to get her feelings out. I think it is a wonderful story. She is an amazing woman, i have to say. The north south identity crisis, is an amazing woman, i have to say. The northsouth identity crisis, as a northerner, ithought the northsouth identity crisis, as a northerner, i thought i should do this piece. Millions of brits dont know if they are northerners or southerners according to a poll. How do we tell . We tell buy for example, i love this bit, we tell if you wear your coat if you were out at night or you dont. You also tell if you have chips with gravy you are a northerner, chips with curry sauce, you are a southerner. It is interesting that people in the midlands. I have never seen that with curry. People in the midlands like lincolnshire, West Midlands, the majority of them think they are southerners. I cant figure that one out. I am from stoke, and we have a com plete out. I am from stoke, and we have a complete identity crisis. This is one of the nolan sisters. Tell us about this. Denise nolan. One of the nolan singers. Something happened, she went on stage, she forgot her lines, stage fright which you get a lot, and acting and everything else. What happened as she didnt work for yea rs. What happened as she didnt work for years. Then her sister said to her i have a 60th birthday party, a lot of friends and entertainers coming i wa nt friends and entertainers coming i want you to perform something. So do ajudy want you to perform something. So do a judy garland number. Judy garland had anxiety attacks, she had anxiety, clinical anxiety and anything else. The same thing. So she started singing judy garland songs and just doing that with her sister in front of all these people gave her courage again plus she identified with judy saying she gave her courage again plus she identified withjudy saying she had the same thing i had and judy garland songs revised herself and is on tour with a musicaljudy garland. Even if, she was obviously in a very difficult place but there is optimism, there is hope. Particularly people suffering from anxiety and depression. Im sorry it has been depressing today but we have had a Mental Health issue today. There is hope, really what we need is more councillors, we need more money invested in Mental Health basically. She helped herself but we all need help at one point in time of our life. One in four people at the moment in the uk will be suffering from anxiety or depression. Thank you very much. We sit here, and you would have asked me, whenever, during my career, 75 or 76 points, 76 points after whatever match day, i would probably have thought, you know, i would be in the bus already on the way home drinking and celebrating. It doesnt feel at all like this. It really doesnt until you have got it done. We come here and we play against norwich, bottom of the table. There is no feeling before the game, we will do that. They will do. It was inevitable. A well documented signing as a result of everything that has gone on, so they could have expected this type of thing. But it is probably not going to be the first time it will happen. And interesting to see what the club will do. Thanks. Imagine being able to buy your dream home forjust £2. Well, one woman in the West Midlands has done just that after winning an idyllic country cottage in a raffle. The house had previously failed to sell for its list price of more than half a million pounds, which meant that owner mike chatha had to look for other ways to find a buyer. Mikejoins us now and on the phone is the lucky new owner, jemma nicklin. We will come to you in a minute, jemma. You bought two tickets. But first, why did you want to sell in this way . We put it on with an estate agent and it did not sell and put it with another agent and still no offers and i work in marketing so i thought i will sell it myself. Not straightforward to run a raffle like this. There must be in the history of time examples of scams like this. How do you make sure it is legitimate . There is only one other insta nce legitimate . There is only one other instance when it was done properly, in 2017 by a chap who did his prize draw, technically, which falls outside the Gambling Commission normal laws. You have to do things ina normal laws. You have to do things in a particular way. And have scrutiny of the way you did it. Totally. Jemma, you heard about the lottery a nd wa nted totally. Jemma, you heard about the lottery and wanted to have a go . My mum and dad told me about it. Lottery and wanted to have a go . My mum and dad told me about itm lottery and wanted to have a go . Sol sent them a text and they called me back straightaway, which is when i spoke to mike and he said congratulations, you have won the house. You are an administrator. What was your reaction in the office when it happened . What was your reaction in the office when it happened . |j what was your reaction in the office when it happened . I was shaking. I did not think it was real. Did eve ryo ne did not think it was real. Did everyone else realise something was going on . Yes. I had told my manager and boss i think i might have won. Then i mouthed to my manager i had won and she started crying, they we re won and she started crying, they were so happy for me. That is wonderful. Picking up a few thoughts with mike. Jemma is the winner, but presumably it is fraught with legal issues. What happens now . Now jemma will come to the house and we will meet each other and open a glass of bubbly. Then my solicitors will draw up bubbly. Then my solicitors will draw up the transfer deeds and we will put together a timescale forjemma ta ke put together a timescale forjemma take over the house in the next few weeks. This is a win win because you were asking 550,000 for the house and you sold 340,000 tickets so you have made 680,000. Hamza abbas gets a house for £4 effectively and you get more. We have extra costs so we make sure pay the costs, paying chutes stamp duty and other things. Any other money above that we will pay to charities. Jemmas stamp duty. Above that we will pay to charities. Jemmas stamp duty. Why do not other people do this . jemmas stamp duty. Why do not other people do this . I went from having zero media follows to having 90,000 people. The previous competition had brought in 800,000 over the period of six months. This was a phenomenal success. It broke all records. But it is not for the faint hearted. It is not easy at all. A lot of hard work behind the scenes. What does the future hold for you . This has thrown light on the struggling housing market. Why go through traditional channels when you can do Something Different and make yourself stand out. Jemma, you have not seen the house you will own infour, have not seen the house you will own in four, five weeks. What you think of it . I think it looks beautiful. Do you have enough furniture for the rest of the house . Possibly i have not seen it yet so i am not sure quite how big it is. Your boyfriend bought tickets. Have you been equitable about the fact you won and he did not . Yes, he is super happy for me. Good luck when you get to the house. I hope you like it. And thank you very much. Incredible. This is where i say goodbye because iam going this is where i say goodbye because i am going to read the news. It has been a pleasure. Thank you for keeping me company. Lets find out what is going on with the weather. Good morning, a lot of weather details to get through because storm dennis has brought a very strong winters across the uk. But rain seems to have been causing the bigger impact and we have seen various pictures throughout the programme of flooding in many parts of the uk. We have this from the met office, a rare morning. The highest red warning they will issue. We have seen huge amounts of rain, and more not welcome but we have fast flowing rivers. Some deep flood water. Some atrocious conditions. Also the risk to life. This area we are concerned, the south wales valleys. More rain to come. And you can see the more extensive amber warnings across wales, Northern England, parts of South West England and this amber warning. Coming into play now. A lot of rain here. And also from the Environment Agency and the authorities in scotland and wales, we have Flood Warnings, numerous warnings, at the last count over 340 Flood Warnings. Seven severe. That is where there is danger to life from flooding already occurring or expected to occur. This is how it looks on the radar picture from earlier on, a lot of rain over england and wales. There are heavy bursts, a bit more rain starting to push back into was affected areas of wales, this area really dragging its heels through the rest of the day. The resort indeed for east anglia and the south coast into the afternoon. A different story further north. A bit ofa different story further north. A bit of a surround across northern scotla nd of a surround across northern scotland but across scotland and northern ireland, a day of sunshine and showers. It will brighten up across Northern England wales on the midlands, maybe the south west as well. We will see brisk winds once again, widely gusting to 45 or 55 miles an hour, stronger in places and your temperatures heading downwards as a day goes on. Values between six by the afternoon. This evening, storm dennis has another trick up its sleeve, as the area of low pressure passes, see the white lines squashing together, another swathes of brisk winds, maybe, driving a lot of those heavy showers across the uk, some clear spells, what will be a clear night, cooler than last night towards the south and east. It is a quieter day but relative. Quieter than today but still very windy, a mixture of sunshine and showers, shower is most plentiful across western areas, temperatures between eight and 11. A lot of weather going on. I will remain you have the red warning across south wales, a risk to life from severe flooding. Check details on weather warnings and the forecast where you are on the bbc weather website, thats all from me. Weve got corrrespondents right across the uk with the very latest on storm dennis. You cant walk through there, thatisif off. You cant walk through there, that is if i hate. There was a lot of Emergency Services here, fire services, that is thigh high. Evacuating residents from the houses. The majority have been taken to safety. The river behind me as you can see is overflowing. The commanderfrom you can see is overflowing. The commander from the police force, sorry, the fire, was telling me that he has concerns that due to all the rainwater, this level could get even higher and cause even more issues to this area. That is coming down but actually upriver, the problem he says that could come from the seaforth high tides the sea with high tides. A more severe issue later on. This is one of the areas that has been hit with that red warning for rain from the met office which means there is a serious threat to life and homes and businesses will be flooded across this area but also as you can see, this area but also as you can see, this is one of a few areas across the uk that has been hit with a severe Flood Warning. Storm dennis making its murk year once again an area which in 2018 was badly hit by storm callum. Our reporter Alexandra Mackenzie is in glasgow for us. Alexandra, a tough night for those in the borders . Absolutely. It is very windy here in glasgow by the river clyde and there isa glasgow by the river clyde and there is a yellow wind warning in place for the whole of scotland for today. But yes, as you say, it was the boarders who bore the brunt of this overnight. They had an amber warning in place all day yesterday and were pummelled with rain all day, plus they had the after effects of storm ciara, plus they had melting snow so some of the rivers just could not cope. The village of newcastleton was one of the worst, we understand at least Six Properties were flooded. People had to be evacuated from their homes. The same in hawick, people were evacuated from homes and streets were flooded. In both these places, facilities were put on for people to come, the local leisure and health centre. We understand people did not have to stay overnight with the people there yesterday evening if they were not able to be in their homes. We do understand that the rivers have peaked so it is hoped the flooding will not get much worse, but the three severe Flood Warnings are still in place. Thank you very much live from glasgow. Our reporter leanne brown is in the the Calder Valley for us this morning, leanne, lots of fears about rising water where you are . It has been a very anxious night for people here in the village of mytholmroyd although having said that, despite the levels of rain were seeing, the situation is much better. The river colder, water over the last few hours, we are not at the 3. 8 metres required flooding to happen so it is being contained at the moment. The army have been here all weekend, bolstering flood defences, very much been welcomed by residents here who are pretty much exhausted from the effects of last weekends storm ciara. Hundreds of homes and businesses were flooded when the roads were pretty much turned into rivers. Across yorkshire there are 33 Flood Warnings in place. An amber warning for rain until 3pm this afternoon. All those things are looking better at the moment. The area certainly isnt out of the woods just yet. Thank you for the update. Our devon reporterjohn ayres is in bovey tracey this morning, john what is the latest there . Another river which has burst its banks. As you say, this is the river bovey. It is filling the car parks into the fields in the background. Over the other side are some houses which are quite close here and there is a shop where the manager has been telling me he is keeping a very close eye on this. He has never seen anything like this before here. One local has told me it has been Something Like 30 years since it has been as high and perhaps may be worse than this overnight here, couple had to be evacuated from their home. A Great Community spirit where they got sandbags, worked together to try and keep the water away from their properties. Mainly as a precaution but community really coming together as is often the way in situations like this. I think the overall picture for the region is it has not been too bad. Police say there have not been any major incidents. Our main problem is the railway which is just north of exeter. The main line that goes from exeter to the north of england and to london paddington but that is going to be closed all day. They have to put a big inflata ble day. They have to put a big inflatable barrier across the railway line to protect the line and the electrics. It takes about six hours to take it up and bring it down, sometimes. Fingers crossed they can have it down again and be ready for tomorrow mornings Early Morning rush hour. Settling today, if you dont have to travel, do avoided and certainly check before you travel. In terms of the weather generally, we have an amber rain morning for here in devon. Yellow for cornwall. Expecting more rain and the water to rise also keeping fingers crossed that any damage caused by all of this is kept to a minimum. Thank you for bringing us up to date on what is going on there. Huge impact across lots of areas. We will keep you up to date with the ongoing situation tomorrow. Lets talk about those people at risk of flooding and what is going on. Heather shepherd is from the National Flood forum, a charity which supports people affected by flooding in england and wales, and joins us now. It is really striking. Lots of people affected in different areas. First thing is first. If you know there is a Flood Warning in place where you are, you need to listen very carefully to the advice being given. Absolutely, it is imperative. We need to figure it lives here. This is fast moving rivers, water can only rise a foot and be a danger to people. If you are asked to be evacuated, then go for it. Do it. That is. And if youre going to have to leave your home, what sort of things should you be thinking about . You are probably prepared by now by letting as much outside, how youre leaving your property, switching off the electric and gas and then basically hopefully you have done that already so that when you are asked to leave, you can just step out and walk away. What are the things you should take care if you have time to take with you . things you should take care if you have time to take with you . If you have time to take with you . If you have a bag, grabbing basic things like toothbrush and toothpaste, make sure you have a phone and phone charger, all of the sort of things you might need while you are out of your home for a couple, could be. It could be a few to be honest. We are seeing various pictures of the four defences being put in place. I have been following these stories for many years. It seems it is almost more sophisticated in the way were dealing with flood defences. Or is that not case . I think were much more focused, i havent working on this for over 20 years and i do see that flooding is increasing. I think where we are managing cities and biker areas with flood defences, basically, for the people in rural areas and smaller areas, they are losing out because the government criteria does not match up to help those people. We need to look at that and see where we can help in these other areas that feel that they are. The army helping in some particular areas. We saw storm ciara only last week so there will be places that have been hit twice. That is double the impact obviously. It is and it gets to a stage when continued flooded he thinks yourself toa continued flooded he thinks yourself to a move . What do i do . The inclination to move is quite a strong one. And actually, then, you are selling your property which can be difficult. You tend to be stuck ina be difficult. You tend to be stuck in a situation really where you have no choice. You cant move and you are living in this s. What about insurance . Can they get insurance . We have a scheme in place at the moment which is a living affordable accessible insurance for all. At the moment, as long as your Insurance Company is in that scheme, you should have no problem in getting insurance but obviously in our helpline we, people are knowledgeable the Insurance Company they are using is in that scheme and there are people who seem to fall in feral of that and not gain that insurance that they need. If your property is one of those it has been flooded, it can be a long time before you get back, cant it . Flooded, it can be a long time before you get back, cant mm flooded, it can be a long time before you get back, cant it . It is and the expectation is often that we will be out of our house for a couple of months but the reality is it is 618 couple of months but the reality is it is 6 18 months to get back into the your property and we have seen much longer than that. Why is that . It takes a long time to repair . Drying a property is a lengthy process but there can be complications within that insurance process. It slows everything up, it may be that there are old backs or difficulties or things that need to be relook at so the process can be elongated. Very stressful for people. It turns your world upside down. It is horrendous. And it is also a memory youd never forget. Thank you very much indeed for joining of this as this morning. Keepin joining of this as this morning. Keep in touch, especially with the weather at the moment. So many mornings out. 300 Flood Warnings because of storm dennis. We will keep you up to date across bbc news and tomorrow, practice will be back from 6am tomorrow morning. Have a great day. See you soon. This is bbc news. The headlines at 9.
