Hello and welcome. The newest member of the us Supreme Court, Justice Amy Coney barrett, has been sworn into office at a white house ceremony. She is President Trumps third appointment to the nations top court, and cements a conservative majority on the bench. The Republican Majority Senate voted largely along party lines, as expected, to confirm her to the lifetime post. She is 48. The democrats had accused the republicans of hypocrisy for confirming a newjustice so close to an election, when they had refused to consider president obamas nominee, back in 2016. This is the moment judge barretts appointment was confirmed by the senate. On this vote, the ays are 52, the nays are 48. An initially peaceful protest at anti coronavirus measures in italy again spills over into violence. Here in turin, the closure of dining in restau ra nts closure of dining in restaurants at 6pm is too much to stomach for those complaining the economic repercussions are simply indigestible. But according to the World Health Organization, even europes most recent measures may not quell the virus enough. Sometimes in a race, you can use certain tactics at a certain time. Right now, we are well behind this virus in europe, so getting ahead of it is going to ta ke getting ahead of it is going to take some serious acceleration in what we do. For the czech government, with 7300 new cases just recorded, that means implementing a night time cu rfew implementing a night time curfew from wednesday for at least a week. And incredibly, in the belgian city of liege, doctors there have been asked to keep working even if they have coronavirus. To prevent the Health System collapsing. There are similarfears the Health System collapsing. There are similar fears in spain with around 17,000 new covered cases reported a day. Covid cases. According to the Emergency Health chief, if cases continue to rise over the next two weeks, it is possible by the middle or third week of november that intensive care units may be close to collapse and certainly in a critical condition. And now in norway, new measures are being introduced after 1200 cases we re introduced after 1200 cases were reported last week. Limits are being introduced to keep private gatherings and business meetings to under 50 people and a new ten day quarantine role forForeign Workers a new ten day quarantine role for Foreign Workers entering from some of the worst hit countries. Including france where hospitals registered over 1300 new coronavirus patients on monday in the highest one day increase since april. In this hospital in newcastle in the uk, a sobering reminder from one covid patient why european governments feel the need to act. I remember getting up need to act. I remember getting up at about three oclock in the morning to use the bathroom. The next thing i remember, i was on my hands and knees, on all fours on the landing. Gasping for breath. I didnt think i was going to come out of it. I was very frightened. Doctors in north west syria have told the bbc that they are expecting a covid catastrophe. The number of positive cases across aleppo and idlib were said to have risen tenfold last month, putting a strain on the already fragile Health System. The bbcs Darren Conway was granted rare access inside idlib and sent this report the road to idlib has been a journey of misery for so many. This is one of the last remaining parts of syria that hasnt been retaken by the regime. Millions of civilians have funnelled into this Little Corner of north west syria in an attempt to escape the fighting. But the people that live here are about to face yet another battle covid 19. Dr ghandoor is head of the two largest hospitals in idlib. Hes one of only 600 doctors for a population ofjust over 4 Million People. Very few covid tests are being done. While we were here, an average of 400 were carried out a day. Up to 40 of those tested positive. Aeroplanes, rockets, corona, angry, poor, security, its the same. All of them, all of these terms mean for us death. Life is already tough enough here. Its a daily fight for survival. A free food hand out quickly turns into a mob. But there are no masks to be seen. At times like this, prayer is about the only support the people here can rely on. But at this mosque, there is no social distancing. And if you thought that it was tough living in idlib city, just take a look at the refugee camps up to 1. 5 Million People living in filthy, ground conditions. This is atma camp. Its one of the largest. People live on top of each other, sharing everything from tents to bathrooms, food and water. This seems like the perfect breeding ground for the virus, yet the official statistics show that only a handful of people have tested positive here. One of the reasons for this is that only people who are showing symptoms and are willing to come forward are being tested. But theres a stigma that comes along with being a covid carrier here. Little zane has the virus. He caught it from his father. Translation people have treated me as if im disgraced. If they see me in the streets, they walk away from me. A couple of days ago, i went to get some groceries from the store and people moved away from me as if i am the virus, as if i will kill them. So, unlike zane and his father, most people would prefer to suffer through the illness in silence which, in camps like this, means that they are super spreaders. Would you say that the virus is out of control in the camps . Its out of control, yes, absolutely. This winter will be very bad, very dark, very hard. We do not have many places for people in the camp, we do not have many medi kits for these, we do not have many fuel to make children and babies and women more warm in the camp. We do not have food enough for them. No one really knows just how bad the outbreak is in the camps. This is a population who have already endured the worst of humanity. Its hard to imagine, but if the outbreak in the camps is as bad as predicted, life here is about to become even harder. Stay with us on bbc news. Still to come fashion is it a line or a circle . But in taking the place of the liberal Justice Ruth Bader ginsberg, she will change the court possibly for decades to come. Amy Coney Barrett refused to be drawn on issues such as abortion, Climate Change and gun control in her confirmation hearing, but few doubt her appointment could herald a new year of rulings and some of the keyissues year of rulings and some of the key issues of American Life. With just a week to go before election day, meanwhile, both candidates have been targeting key swing states such as pennsylvania. Eight days from now, were going to win the commonwealth of pennsylvania and were going to win four more years and are great white house. And despite trailing joe biden in the polls, donald trump is now saying he expects to expand on his victory there the last time around. Whilst a democratic rival continues to assailed the president over his handling of the coronavirus pandemic. The bottomline is donald trump is the worst possible president , the worst possible president , the worst possible person, to try to lead us through this pandemic. For the confirmation of a Christian Conservative to the us Supreme Court is undoubtedly an huge victory for donald trump and regardless of its impact on the election, experts agree it could change the shape of American Life long after he has left office. Security officers in belarus have arrested several hundred people taking part in the first day of a general strike aimed at forcing president lukashenko from office. Some private businesses closed. A number of state workers halted production and students protested. But a government minister said the strikes had caused no economic damage. Russell trott reports. The protesters latest move to paralyse the country with strikes, urged on by exiled opposition politician svetla na ti kha novs kaya to topple, in their eyes, an illegitimate president. The strike action spread to several cities across belarus, students taking to the streets almost three months after a disputed election. Translation first, we have to address the freedom problem and then it will be possible to get a good education because until we have solved the countrys problems, how can we study . Translation we want just one thing, the man who rules our country, who pronounced himself the king or tzar, to leave us alone. We want competent people to lead our country and for our economy to grow. Translation perhaps there isjust no peaceful way. I dont know. Its a horrible thing to say, but probably only resistance fighters can help us. As the government insisted businesses werent affected, masked officers dragged people away, the Security Services warning the protesters they may be treated as terrorists. The authorities are really afraid of this form of protest. It seems this is the only form which really works. I think this is perhaps the only way right now. There is no possibility to organise a dialogue within belarus. The strike came a day after police fired stun grenades and detained scores of the tens of thousands of protesters taking part in the 11th straight weekend of rallies. As well as hunting down some in their apartments. Official media insisted president lukashenko was at work as normal on monday with a busy week ahead of him. The stand off continues. Lets get the latest sports news now from the bbc sports centre. Hello, im gavin and this is your tuesday sport briefing. Roma came from behind three times to stun serie a leaders milan in a 3 3 draw at the san siro on monday night. Zlatan ibrahimovic scored twice for milan. His second penalty late in the match to put milan 3 2 up, but roma had other ideas. Marash kumbullas equaliser ensured the points were shared. Milan stay top, but their winning streak was over. And spurs are in the hunt again in the English Premier League. They got the better of struggling burnley by winning by a goal to nil. In a game of few clear cut chances, harry kane combined again with son heung min, who scored. Son now the leagues top scorer but the manager played tribute to kane in the team for their performance throughout. When you want to win, you do everything for your team. There is no space for individuals, there no space for prima donnas. Even a top player like harry has this spirit. Fantastic, i just have to say fantastic. There are some tasty ties in the European Champions League on tuesday. Holders Bayern Munich take on Lokomotiv Moscow in the russian capital while the English Premier League champions liverpool are away to Danish Club Fc Midtjylland as they look to record their second straight win at the start of the new season following their victory at ajax in their group d opener. Their manager, juergen klopp, said there are no easy games in the champions league. Pretty much everything is possible. We use that from time to time for us, so maybe from another perspective, but im sure midtjylland sees it exactly the same way, so they dont wave already with the white flag, so they will be here and try to everything they can. It was always the case and it was never different and i would expect it exactly like that and respect that and so there is no small team in the champions league, only teams and how small or how big you are usual on the pitch in the game. The vuelta a espana resumes on tuesday. Stage seven sees the riders tackle a new claim for the race as it takes them over the alto de moncalvillo in the rioja region. Richard carapaz will be looking to retain the race leaders red jersey he took on sunday. The 2019 giro ditalia champion has an 18 second lead over britains hugh carthy going in to the second week of the spanish grand tour. And the Los Angeles Dodgers are one game away from world series victory and will be feeling confident ahead of game six against the Tampa Bay Rays later. The dodgers won game five to seize the advantage in texas. The pitcher established an all time postseason strike out record as they won 4 2 on sunday. It means the dodgers are 3 2 up in the best of 7 finale as they chase a first series title since 1988. Well, after that magnificent performance from kershaw, it appears as children wanted a slice of the attention. Its a familiar scene across many households in lockdown, kids interrupting video calls and the dodgers star wasnt immune to that. Callaghan and charlie, his two eldest, popping up to surprise the worlds media as their dad reflected on the game. Looks like they enjoyed every minute of that. And that is it from us. New Yorks Metropolitan Museum of art is marking its 150th anniversary. As part of the celebrations its putting on an exhibition about the changing nature of fashion. About time fashion and duration explores the idea that design can be both linear and cyclical. The bbcs tim allman explains. In the world of fashion, everything is new and everything stays the same. Look at these dresses. Some of them are more than 100 years old. Some are much more recent. This giant pendulum represents the passage of time and the evolution of design. Instead of staging a masterworks show, we wanted to, in a way, i suppose have a show that is a meditation on temporality and fashion, in a way. Archive what could be smarter than this dress with diamante effect on collar and cuffs and a pleated skirt . Artistically designed, it costs only £3, 17 and six. Fashion is and always has been a hugely important and lucrative business. It has fascinated men and women throughout the decades. Almost all the dresses here are in black to emphasise the change in silhouette, paying tribute to the famous and not so famous. Part of the show is also looking at designers, well known designers like galliano and issey miyake, but less designers who have been sort of written out of fashion history because theyre not so well known and they didnt maintain their business. Who else do you invite to a show like this than anna wintour, editor in chief at vogue . The exhibition runs until early next year, showcasing the spectacular, the unusual and the timeless. A pretty powerful jet stream will be racing across the atlantic for much of this week, generated by some big temperature contrasts across the United States. So thats going to bring areas of low pressure to our shores, bringing rain and gales and huge waves crashing up against some western coastlines. But it will be turning milder towards the end of the week, particularly across the south. This very deep area of low pressure contains the remnants of what was hurricane epsilon, extending a weather front out in our direction. Some fairly strong winds as well. To start the day, tuesday, for northern ireland, wales, the south west of england, this band of rain will continue to journey its way eastwards. A bright and chilly start across northern and eastern areas before the cloud and the rain arrives, though not reaching the far north east of scotland and the Northern Isles until after dark. Behind it, skies will brighten, sunshine, some heavy showers, but it will be blustery with winds 35, 40 miles an hour across the south. 14 degrees or so here, chilly across the north and east after that cool start. As we head through tuesday night, its going to be a blustery one, strong winds in the west and lots of showers, some of these will tend to be heavier. But central and eastern areas again turning drier with clear skies. Those temperatures range from 5 to around 8 or 9 celsius. This area of low pressure will continue to dominate the central north atlantic. Got a long fetch of strong winds across the north atlantic and thats going to bring some very big waves to western areas, in excess of 10 metres across the west of ireland. So some dangerous coastlines to be walking on across the west through the course of wednesday. So, take care for that. The day will be another one of sunshine and showers, blustery, heavy showers at that, may be some hail and thunder mixed in, probably the best of any brightness will be towards the east. Those temperatures on the cool side, 10 to 13 celsius. Another low pressure system races up from the south west to our shores on thursday, thats going to bring another round of pretty heavy rain this time, i think heavier rain for northern and western areas. Some strong winds, perhaps touching gale force. The rainfall totals really will be mounting up across parts of south west scotland and north west england, northern and western wales. We could see some minor flooding here by the time we reach thursday and indeed friday. But some sunshine in the south and signs of things getting milder, in the mid teens celsius there. Turns milder still on friday across the south, but it will stay quite wet across northern and western areas. Headaches for investors global stocks suffer their heaviest losses in weeks, due to surging coronavirus cases. Europes biggest bank hsbc announces a 35 drop in Third Quarter profits as it focuses on cost cutting. Opportunity knocks its National Mentoring day in the uk we meet the young man who found a career and mentor in finance, by knocking on doors in kensington. Us stock markets suffered their sharpest fall in weeks as concerns about the Economic Impact of surging coronavirus cases sent shares tumbling. On wall street, the dow jones closed down 2. 3 percent, after dropping more than 3 percent earlier in the day. The s p 500 and nasdaq also saw declines. This is all mainly down to fears over surging coronavirus cases globally. In european trading on monday the picture was also gloomy, germanys dax index dropped 3. 7 percent, and in the the uk, the ftse100 fell by over a percent. Travel firms have been some of the most sensitive to warnings about the virus and were among the biggest fallers. And in asian trading today. Things have calmed down a little. In australia we are seeing the worst losses. But japan, down by just seeing the worst losses. But japan, down byjust. 2 of a percent. Hong kong off by nearly 1 . Lets discuss this. Lets discuss this. Joining me now is james hughes, whos the chief market analyst at scope markets. Are you losing sleep or not . Well, not necessarily at the moment. I think this is a situation almost a little bit like groundhog day. We have seen this a few times. Since march, we had seen this a couple of times where the numbers start to spike and the markets get particularly wire bead. Now, of course, one of the biggest issues within this market but you have to look at the way markets have performed, number one. They have been very, very strong ever since the initial dip. A little bit of sideways movement but it never really fall into aggressively apart from the odd couple of days. Now, if you add to the coronavirus story into the fact that we have court order expecting stimulus measures to be agreed between democrats and republicans in the us and that never happened. If you add that to the fact that we have an election in less tha n that we have an election in less than a week, that is also a bit likea less than a week, that is also a bit like a perfect storm for these markets at the moment where the nervousness, the uncertainty about actually what the future holds is really all up the future holds is really all up in the air. Can are you on something . This is what has bothered me for weeks is the fa ct bothered me for weeks is the fact that you read the Market Analysis and everyone is saying, there is going to be a stimulus deal and it is hoped that stocks are up and the hopes that nancy pelosi will agree something before the election. And a month or so ago President Trump said no, there will be no agreement before the election. So why were you betting there would be . This is a strange phenomenon. We do tend to get the situation where, to be perfectly honest it isa where, to be perfectly honest it is a bit like the brexit deal that is going on as well. Even though really the odds are at the moment that there is no deal likely with the brexit the market really does get it hopes up market really does get it hopes up whenever there is the slight hint of things. And what we look for, what the market wants is clarity. Once clarity and when it comes to stimulus and economic stimulus, that is good for the stock market so it will burst them higher. It is not necessarily the fact that the market moves higher or the fact that this will or wont. What it does is move higher on optimism, there was optimism today than yesterday. That drives the market higher. Donald trump said there will be no deal before the election and we all know that were less than a week away and get the headlines are still talking about the fact that we could see a stimulus package. The likelihood of anyone bringing ina likelihood of anyone bringing in a stimulus package less than a before the election when there could be a new administration in power is pretty much unheard of. A small rumour or a slight bit of optimism, that is what the market is reacting to. Not necessarily the fact that there will be a stimulus deal. We will be a stimulus deal. We will have to leave it there but good to talk to you. Thank you so much. Thank you so much. Europes biggest bank hsbc has announced a 35 percent fall in Third Quarter profits. Pretax profits for the bank came in at 3. 1 billion dollars for the quarter but that is a billion dollars more than most analysts were expecting so the banks shares are currently up just shy of 2 percent in hong kong. Hsbc has been looking to reduce costs and injune resumed plans to cut around 35 thousand jobs globally. The ceo got the job the ceo got thejob in the ceo got the job in march this year. What a time to get the topjob. What a time to get the top job. Alpesh patel is chief executive of praefinium partners. Your first reaction to the news . Well, it sounds like good news. And even when i was looking at the fine print, blea ry looking at the fine print, bleary eyed it 4am when they released these results, even in the fine print is looked positive, like you said, they beat expectations. And profit. This is not 2008 which is the concern that a lot of people have that, could there be a banking crisis . Definitely not. They will revisit dividend policy in february what will really be critical to recovery. They also said that they expect losses from bad loans and this is the worry in the back of everyones mind, how will banks be hit in the future . They think that will be at the lower end of their range. 8 13 billion. Other banks are coming out with similar positive statements, arent they . So can we take from their state banks, as you say, wont be hit in a similar way as we saw in 2008 . It definitely wont be like 2008 because if you look at the decline in the share prices of some of the major banks like hsbc, theyve been falling since 2018, you know, 1994, 1995 levels anyway. How much lower can it go . Back in 94 it dropped another 50 and that is unlikely. If it goes back to where it was in january if you are looking at doubling your money. In terms of share prices, yes, the worst is over but in terms of bad provision, they have learned the lesson to make sure they make adequate provision but we dont know how bad the second wave will get. That is the problem. So i dont think they have under provided for bad debt, we dont know what is going to happen with the virus going to happen with the virus Going Forward into next year. And it could see further falls in revenue whilst the revenue only fell 11 , it is an unknown factor. I just only fell 11 , it is an unknown factor. Ijust want only fell 11 , it is an unknown factor. I just want to ask you, i dont know if you heard my conversation with james about markets in general but we are going to a really vulnerable time and next because the us election and people like you, you will be up all night trading, so where is the money going to be going . What are your thoughts . We have been telling people for most of this year to go into the more resilient stocks, the safe as houses companies with billions in the bank account which does mean the large blue chip tech companies, iam mean the large blue chip tech companies, i am afraid. The safer ones. Youre not gambling are speculating around election results, brexit outcome over the next set of covid figures. People do that will get their fingers burnt as we saw yesterday. At the end of the week we will get a 600 point rally probably. We dont want to gamble around those kinds of trades. We want the more resilient tax companies. Microsoft, amazon, paypal, those ca nape companies microsoft, amazon, paypal, those canape companies which can see the headwinds of this uncertainty through. Lovely to see. See you again soon. You have probably not heard of the company we are talking about next but it could make the Worlds Largest stock market debut. Ant group is by no means small its a chinese fin tech giant and is backed by the billionaire founder of alibaba jack ma. Ant is to sell shares worth just under 34 and a half billion dollars on the shanghai and hong kong stock markets. This tops the previous largest debut saudi aramcos 29 point 4 billion dollars float last december. Sharanjit leyl now joins us from singapore. Nice to see you. Sometimes we dont get our heads around these numbers. They are huge, havent they . Absolutely warping. And it may be cold and group but this ipo is anything but ant sized. There was a Chinese Financial Technology giant will be the largest ipo witness on the shanghai and hong kong stock markets and crucially, it is not listed in the us and i will go on to explain why in a bit but a bit about the company first. It is an Online Entertainment business which runs hourly pay which has billions of users. Mostly in china. Some from elsewhere in asia. If you have been to china you will know that mobile and payment apps have far eclipsed the use of cash or credit cards. The pricing values the whole business at a whopping 313 billion. And the founder of ali baba has a sizeable chunk of shares in the firm. This could make him chinas richest man. Just last week we heard and talking about the significance of this listing which he said would be a big dealfor shanghai and hong kong. He said this was really the first time the largest listing in Human History was being priced outside new york city. Something no one would have dared to think about five years or even three years ago. According to him. And why . We know the Trump Administration has threatened to limit chinese firms access to us firms as pa rt firms access to us firms as part of the long running trade row. China has essentially called on its tech giants to list on domestic stock markets instead and they say the stock offers investors a big chance to secure big slice of asias fast growing tech sector. To secure big slice of asias fastgrowing tech sector. We will keep an eye on that. Thank you. Thank you. American farmers overwhelmingly voted for us President Trump in the last election. Although the trade wars have hurt them, farmers still support mr trump and his bid for another four years in office. Why . Samira hussain went to speak to farmers in pennsylvania, a state being hotly contested in the upcoming president ial elections. It is harvest time on the farms of central pennsylvania, the moment when another years hard work hopefully pays off. But this is Donald Trumps america, where trade wars with china have led to the loss of crucial markets for us produce and increasing numbers of farms being repossessed. You might think farmers would lose faith in the president , but many are sticking with their man. In the midst of a war, is it helping us . Has anywhere helped us in the midst of the war . Were fighting for the greater good. And were trying to create something down the road that were not a doormat for other countries. There is no question the trade wars have hurt American Farmers, particularly those that grow soy, but they continue to support President Trump and it is the same story across rural america. Can i eat these . Yes, yes. Theyre edible. Theyre not as tasty as edamame, but theyre edible. For Grain Farmers like grant, the short term pain of plummeting crop prices is worth the long term gain of finally addressing the us trade imbalance with china. Most American Farmers were willing to bear a little bit of the burden because they could see the light at the end of the tunnel, very bright as you get closer to it, and now today, Soybean Prices are over 10 a bushel which is really a good price for soybeans. When the trade war obliterated the soybean market, the white house softens the blow by giving farmers billions of dollars in agricultural subsidies, saving many from financial ruin. But mr trump will need more than just the support of American Farmers to win another term in the white house. He could use the support of american diners, too. Who are you voting for in this election and why . Ill probably vote for trump because i think he actually wants to make a difference. Trump because of the economy. Biden because of the economy i want trump to put china back in its place. American farmers believe us President Donald Trump is the only person who can put china back in its place. They voted for him overwhelmingly before and hes counting on them doing it again. Bp will probably announce something grand about breaking even or a small part which is better than the last quarter but significantly worse than the same quarter last year because oil prices are significantly lower than a year ago. And it is really for Companies Like bp, even before kay that hit, they have got to implement a brand new strategy Going Forward , brand new strategy Going Forward, a green strategy, a sustainable strategy. Bp has got a relatively new boss in charge but now it is dealing with covid, a massive fall in demand and drop off in the price of oil, not coming into fund of this new ideas and restructuring. Exactly. Bp has beenin restructuring. Exactly. Bp has been in this situation, strategy wise, before. We can remember beyond petroleum they had a decade or so ago, so it will be really interesting to see how much progress they are making ina see how much progress they are making in a very difficult cost environment, youve outlined. They have slashed Capital Spending but by 2030 they are aiming to produce oil and and fuel production by 40 . And on the other side they are looking to multiply by ten the amount of investment they make into renewa bles of investment they make into renewables and so on. So i should have mentioned that is a lot more difficult to do when the oil price is lower and perhaps creates an urgency behind the strategy but it will behind the strategy but it will be interesting to see how they are making progress on that and how they feel that can be managed in terms of their Balance Sheet if you compare bp to its rivals, which one is being most radical when it comes to its green strategy . Well, some analysts believe that bp has announced the most aggressive strategy so far. Others have not been as forthcoming in terms of that energy transition, that energy shift. But these companies are all facing a significant reduction in profits because of the challenging cost environment and as a result of that their share prices are sharply down. Bp is not by any means alone in that but the share price has fallen by almost 60 and is close to 26 year lows. And so the market capitalisation value bp overall this coming below some green energy Companies Like the one in denmark which has made this pivot from fossil fuel towards things like offshore wind. That is what bp and the new competition looks like and that is the difficulty behind making the strategic move because it isa the strategic move because it is a very competitive space in clea n is a very competitive space in clean energy and renewables as well. Interesting. David hunter, thank you for your time and getting up so early. Lets get some of the days other news. But, one of the ways candidates can help their prospects is by getting a mentor and today is National Mentoring day here in the uk. Joining us now is reggie nelson, whos a fiduciary management analyst at Legal General investment management, and has an inspiring story of his own. Great to have you on the programme. I want you to tell your story of how you got into the career you are in because when you tell your story, many will remember it. We told eve ryo ne will remember it. We told everyone at the time when you we re everyone at the time when you were knocking on doors in kensington so just remind us all of the cuts you had at the age of 17. Yes, so at 17 i decided to do something that was quite innovative in order to get my foot into the door and before that i was playing foot ball and before that i was playing football at quite a high level but that wasnt really working out for me and was not what i wanted to do any more so i was kind of stuck and did not know direction to go down so i decided to do a Google Search and find out how the wealthy amassed their wealth because my family didnt come from a wealthy background. I decided to go to kensington and asked people how they amassed their wealth. That was not bidding to any tangible results so i decided to knock on doors and i knocked on the door of the ceo of the Largest Asset Management Company in the world and he has mentored me since i was 17. Why would you say mentoring is critical, especially for people like you . A young black teenager who did not go to any affluent schools are private education, going into an industry, banking, which is majority white. I think for me it was really, really important because i didnt have any visibility to the sector. Where lam from, visibility to the sector. Where i am from, east london, you almost presented with footballer, musician or crime which is what a lot of people i grew up with decided to go down, unfortunately. And i came across my mentor, quinton price, he opened my visibility to whole new world which was financed. Didnt know how that worked anything like that. Through his guidance managed to go to university, which did not wa nt go to university, which did not want to do. I studied economics and thenl want to do. I studied economics and then i started to find my feet and i thought for me university a steep learning curve because i had not studied maths, or at that velocity before my life. My first exam i scored 25 which is a fail and thenl scored 25 which is a fail and then i started to find my feet and that was the power of mentorship. I got 84 in the next examined 86 on the one after that. I managed to defy the internships in the ergometer where i am today. I am so sorry to say we are at a time that you are so inspiring and thanks for sharing your story with us this morning. This mentoring day to someone. I will see you soon. Hello there. Good morning, welcome to breakfast with dan walker and louise minchin. Our headlines today. A warning that the north of england could be left behind as 50 conservative mps say there needs to be a clear plan for leaving lockdown.
