Kyrgyzstans National Security committee has named the Prime Suspect as Akbarzhon Jalilov who has russian citizenship but was born in kyrgyzstan. At least 45 people were also injured in the explosion between two stations on monday afternoon. Three days of mourning have begun. Sarah corker reports. In russias second city, a show of grief and solidarity. President Vladimir Putin was in St Petersburg at the time of the attack. Above the station where the bombed train ended itsjourney, he paid respects to those killed and injured on monday afternoon. From underground, images have emerged of the mangled metro train, doors blown out, passengers trying to escape the wreckage. Local media are reporting that the suspect is a man in his 20s from central asia, but there are conflicting reports as to whether he was a Suicide Bomber. Translation lawenforcement bodies and special services are working and will do all they can in order to find out the cause of what has happened. At a nearby station, a second Explosive Device was found and defused. Security has been tightened across the country. Officials say this was an act of terror. Yet, this makeshift memorial, there was a sense of defiance. Translation im certain that we russians will not be divided. At this precise moment, all people, of all faiths, all religions and all political borders, everyone is united by grief. In recent years, russias planes, trains and airports have all the targeted by extremist groups. Once again, ordinary russians are asking how and why their loved ones were killed. Our correspondent Oleg Boldyrev is in moscow. What is the latest that investigators are saying about the suspected attacker, and the potential motivations . The russian investigators have had the chance to respond to this statement from their collea g u es respond to this statement from their colleagues in kurdistan, who identified the Suicide Bomber. Investigators chose to say that they knew the identity of the man who blew up the bomb on the metro but would not disclose it kyrgyzstan. The president ial spokesman spoke in a similarvein, saying the president ial spokesman spoke in a similar vein, saying there would be this investigation in russia, which holds the cards and will act as they consider necessary. The number of dead has risen to 1a, indicating there was a certain confusion yesterday. The Russian Health minister has said none of the victims died overnight, presumably the three more were dead soon after the three more were dead soon after the blast. And what about the potential motivation . So far, none of the groups including so called Islamic State have claimed responsibility. If the reports of the man from kyrgyzstan, who was also a russian citizen, are confirmed, it will strengthen speculation that Islamic State may have something to do with it. There are enough radicalised russia to act alone, there will be renewed calls for russian authorities to consider the potential of establishing this. So far, the kremlin have refused to do that. What are the indications on how authorities are likely to respond . It is too early to say. There is speculation that the reaction to this bombing may even be political and directed to a broader life inside of russia, for example. Stifling the freedom of Information Exchange and the freedom of internet operations. At the moment, russian authorities have not spoken on this, we will just authorities have not spoken on this, we willjust have to wait and see. If it is Islamic State, how i could have they been in russia . Active have they been in russia . Active have they been in russia . Hundreds of people have been on files with Russian Security services, known to them, who left for syria and iraq, this may have happened in chechnya, two provinces in russia, there are considerable muslim populations from the Central Asian republic who are, once again, free to walk into russia. There is concern that there isa russia. There is concern that there is a lack of control over the movements of people and many people we re movements of people and many people were radicalised and known to be radicalised, with Russian Security services promising that they will keep checks on those. Thank you. Just getting some comments through from the Russian Foreign minister sergei lavrov, who would say that it would be mean to say that it was. Lets go back to the suspected gas attack in syria, where 58 people have been killed. Our Correspondent Benjames have been killed. Our correspondent ben james is have been killed. Our Correspondent Benjames is in beirut. He can bring us benjames is in beirut. He can bring us the latest on what has happened. It isa us the latest on what has happened. It is a suspected gas attack, what can you tell us . Indeed, suspected because organisations like the Syrian Observatory For Human Rights, uk based Monitoring Group, they say that 58 people have been killed and have spoken of people choking and fainting after this air strike first thing in the morning, people foaming at the mouth and suffocating in the aftermath of it. Activists on the Opposition Side have posted pictures on facebook groups which are graphic and show children being treated because it looks like they cannot breathe, foaming at the mouth as well. None of these pictures are pictures we have taken ourselves and that we can verify on the ground. The Syrian Government has not officially responded to this yet. In the past they have repeatedly denied using Chemical Weapons like this, but reports that the un and organisations with the prohibition of Chemical Weapons, put together last year, they found at least three exa m ples of last year, they found at least three examples of Chlorine Gas Attacks in 2014 and 2015. Competing claims on both sides. The Syrian Government has evidence and claims, they say that they are merely provocation but agencies would say otherwise. The Syrian Government says that it doesnt use Chemical Weapons. But you mentioned there examples which have been cited of potential Chlorine Gas Attacks. What are these allegations, of what Chemical Weapons syria may possess . Some of these conversations online today and some of the claims made by the Opposition Activists are talking about chlorine, some are pointing to the symptoms seen in the pictures and videos from this town is being consistent with a Chlorine Attack in Khan Sheikhoun. There are no credible claims about the use of cx gas today. The Chemical Weapons part of the Decommissioning Exercise you may remember a few years ago in the aftermath of a Chemical Attack in the area around the capital city of damascus, that led to the us threatening Military Action, that action was wrote back on when the us and russia brigadier deal to decommission Chemical Weapons with the organisation and brokered a deal. They said that was completed just over a year ago but the notion is that there could have been more chemicals in a stockpile that were not declared. Political conversations ongoing in the meantime, activists and medics on the ground are dealing with, they say today, a Chemical Attack and symptoms consistent with that. say today, a Chemical Attack and symptoms consistent with that. If it we re prove n symptoms consistent with that. If it were proven that Chemical Weapons we re were proven that Chemical Weapons were being used, how might the International Community respond . Were being used, how might the International Community respond . |j think International Community respond . think that the problem there is with that word, proven. If there is one party in the conflict and conversation deemed to be proof, the history of this conflict has shown the other side will strongly deny it. It is difficult to see a situation where all parties agree that there is proof. There was once a red line that america talked about, where it was thinking about Chemical Weapons in the conflict but Military Action promised as a result of crossing the red line did not materialise. So, we will wait and see exactly how International Powers react to this, they havent yet. The syrian political Opposition Group have called for a un investigation in the aftermath of this. We will report on any response to that call from the united nations. Thank you. Its emerged that North Wales Police has paid a phone bill of over £44,000 for a mobile which had been given to a burglar on bail. The phone had been given to the offender by the police as part of a project to reintegrate criminals into the community. North wales police says no disciplinary action has been taken against any member of staff but the force has since reviewed its mobile phone policy. Theresa may has described the decision to drop the easter from the name of cadbury and National Trust egg hunts as absolutely ridiculous. From dundee to torquay. Bunny will be hiding easter eggs all over the uk 50, be hiding easter eggs all over the uk so, joining the fun with cadbury s uk so, joining the fun with cadbury 5 british egg hunt. Join in the fun. Her comments come after the archbishop of york said calling the event the Cadbury Egg Hunt was like Spitting On The Grave of the firms christian founder, whos faith he said faith influenced his industrial output. In an interview with the Daily Telegraph dr sentamu said it is obvious that for him jesus and justice were two sides of the one coin. To drop easterfrom Cadburys Easter egg hunt in my book is tantamount to Spitting On The Grave of cadbury. Speaking to reporters during her trip to saudi arabia, theresa may, the daughter of a vicar, gave her reaction to the row. Im notjust obikas daughter but a member of the National Trust. I think their stance is ridiculous and i dont know what they are thinking. Easter is very important, to me and a very important, to me and a very important festival for the Christian Faith and for millions across the world. I think what the National Trust is doing is, frankly, ridiculous. In a statement cadbury said easter was referred to on much of its packaging and marketing the National Trust also denied it was downplaying the significance of easter. A group of mps has challenged the government to prove theresa mays claim that no deal is better than a bad deal on brexit. The exiting the eu committee is calling on the government to assess the impact of leaving without an agreement on trading arrangements. In a report published today, it also says parliament should be consulted before ministers walk away without a deal. Six pro brexit mps on the committee did vote against the report, saying it was too gloomy. Our Political Correspondent mark lobel is in westminster. This goes back to the aims of the government, notjust to take us out of the eu but, at the same time, they would ideally like to put in place a trade deal. Those famous words from theresa may, no deal is better than. It came back to haunt david davis would he came back to the committee, he was asked to substantiate what he meant by no deal. At the Time Committee could not. Behind the scenes, the government are looking into a lot of scenarios, including this. Trying to pin down the government and what this committee, this powerful Commons Committee, has been saying, they would like to work out what no deal would mean and publish it. As you mentioned, the Committee Itself was actually rather split on the issue, and here is the chair of the committee, hilary benn, explaining about that issue. In the absence of an Economic Assessment of that outcome it would mean a return to tariffs, possible delays at ports, impact on trade between Northern Ireland and the Republic Of Ireland and, without the government setting out what mitigating steps it would put in place, the assertion that no deal is better than a bad deal is, in the words of the report, unsubstantiated. In order to have the power of these reports, you really need to have, and it is a cross party committee, you need the whole committee approving the report. That is the Ideal Scenario and sends the strongest message to ministers. But one pro brexit mp who sits on the committee, dominic raab, voted against the report and spoke to the bbc and said this. For me, it was far too obsessive leave focused on one side, the risks and the downside of leaving the eu, with scant real attention to the upsides and opportunities. What we should really be doing, i believe, is both. Mark, is the kind of work that the committee is talking about, wanting to see evidence of what is being done behind the scenes, just isnt communicated to all of us publicly . The government insists it is, we will hear more from the Prime Minister ina will hear more from the Prime Minister in a moment but bearing in mind that the government source i spoke to says that behind the scenes, based on what the remain campaign was saying, and while Trade Organisation terms that there was no deal, you have a fair idea of the ta riffs deal, you have a fair idea of the tariffs that would be in place. This isa tariffs that would be in place. This is a push to get a deal in place, to help the Agricultural Sector in the uk, so they do not, as some people turn it, for off a cliff. Those people in the sector are lobbying the government hard for a deal which is seen perhaps as a number form of lobbying for there to be a deal rather than no deal. They question the committees assertion that this kind of information should be published as they are worried it could undermine the governments negotiation positions. This is what theresa may said. Ive been very clear that i want to get the best deal possible for the uk from these negotiations with the european union. I think that will be a good deal for the eu, thats what the eu themselves have said, that they want to get a good deal and a good future relationship with us. I was clear in the letter that i sent to donald tusk when i triggered article 50 that if we dont get a deal we fall back on wto arrangements for trade. I dont think thats in the interests of either side. Thats why we will both be working to ensure we get the best possible deal. So, pressure on the government from this committee to publish what no deal would mean. The Committee Itself, even dominic raab, who was against this particular report, saying they will work strongly together in future and hold the government to account. Thank you very much. And well have more on this story at 12. 30 when well be speaking to hillary benn the chair of the exiting the eu committee. We heard from him briefly there but the full interview is at half past 12. The headlines on bbc Newsroom Live an alleged Poison Gas Attack on a town in syrias Igloo Province has killed at least 58 people, according toa killed at least 58 people, according to a Monitoring Group idlib. Chelsea forward eni aluko says england manager mark sampson is sending out a dangerous message by not picking players on form. Sampson left aluko out of his squad for euro 2017, despite herfinishing last seasons Womens Super League as top scorer. The best Ice Hockey Players in the world wont be competing at next years winter olympics. The nhl wont allow players to go to the games because the owners of the leagues clubs dont want to interrupt the season. Ill be back in half an hour. Thank you. Jeremy corbyn has accused the conservatives of running our country down in every way ahead of next months local elections. The Labour Party Leader is in nottinghamshire for the launch of its campaign in the run up to the elections on may the 4th. This election is your chance to send a message to the tories. That you will not accept our nhs in crisis. Applause your childrens future betrayed. A deepening housing crisis. Damaging cuts to the police. Insecure jobs that dont make ends meet. It doesnt have to be like this. Things can, and they will, change. So, i urge all of you to think about the issues and use your vote for labour on may the 4th. Thank you very much. Professorjohn curtice from strathclyde universityjoins me from westminster. Thank you forjoining us. What is your analysis at this stage ahead of the elections . Well, it certainly looks like a relatively difficult set of elections for the labour party. In england, in truth, the elections are, for the most part, are in the rural shires, and labour not defending that much. Just over 500600 not defending that much. Just over 500 600 seats, only controlling a couple of councils, aside from doncaster, that Is Nottinghamshire and derbyshire. Even what has been happening in the Opinion Polls recently, Labour Cannot be sure of hanging onto those two county councils. To that extent at least, labour is in a relatively weak position in rural england, and that could weaken. The real problem is in scotland, and wales. There are elections fall of the council seats. In scotland, when these elections we re in scotland, when these elections were last 142012, labour did relatively well, at least by the standards of other recent elections in scotland. Only one point behind the snp. But Opinion Polls, and indeed local pub and by elections, point to them at being below 20 in scotland, probably trailing the tories and losing control as a result of places like North Lanarkshire and glasgow, where they have the majority. In wales, labour is defending a relatively high baseline from 2012, and cardiff, for example, perhaps newport, also looking vulnerable and labour likely to lose ground. The truth is, this is probably a moment where labours pretty dire position in the Opinion Polls is as weak as any opposition has suffered during the post war period. Perhaps what will come through and be evident to labour activists and party members, Ata Time Labour Activists and party members, at a time when, in truth, an Opposition Party should be gaining, it looks like they are going to lose, and could lose quite significantly. What are the indicators as to why that is . As you describe, its a very rare situation. You say there could be a 12 point swing from labour to the conservatives . The Opinion Polls point to that, when the english cou nty point to that, when the English County Councils were last 142013, we should remember neither labour or the conservatives managed much. There are Opinion Poll Performance backin there are Opinion Poll Performance back in 2013, ukip did remarkably well. These elections will be difficult for ukip as they defend a high baseline. If you look at the cupboard by elections, even though labour in 2013 were running at the equivalent of about 29 of the vote, their vote in local pub and by elections has been slipping at 45 points since then, around Something Like the 25 mark where the Opinion Polls are falling. Essentially there are two reasons for this. Since the Eu Referendum, support for the labour party across britain as a whole has fallen but in part, because some remain voters who were supporting labour has switched to the lip because they like them, like their more robust defence of membership the liberal democrats. The continuing division inside of the labour party, and the fact that Jeremy Corbyn is, frankly, unpopular. This is the continuing fallout from the Independence Referendum in september 2014, where the snp had more recently how the conservatives north of the border are getting the support of people who used to vote labour and want to stay inside of the uk. North of the border, labour are squeezed by the constitutional question and south, internal divisions, dislike ofJeremy Corbyn and some remain voters switching away from labour. These are local elections and youve already given all of the caveats around polling but if the picture that the polls are indicating in terms of swing from labour to the conservatives we re from labour to the conservatives were to be replicated in an election, there was talk of a snap and action which will not happen on the 4th of may. Snap election. What would it mean, what with the outcome be . The conservatives would be home with a comfortable majority, probably three figures. But we should remember so many of labours parliamentary seats are so safe, they have very large majorities. Even labour fall back to they have very large majorities. Even labourfall back to being they have very large majorities. Even labour fall back to being 16 they have very large majorities. Even labourfall back to being 16 or 17 points behind the conservatives. It still would not necessarily be a landslide on the scale that labour themselves got in 1997, or Margaret Thatcher got in 1983. So, labours one salvation is that their vote is so geographically concentrated that perhaps more mps would have survived than many anticipated when they take a casual glance at the Opinion Polls but that isa glance at the Opinion Polls but that is a relatively cold comfort for a party that, having been out of power by2020 party that, having been out of power by 2020 42 mac parliament recessions, they will be hoping to get back towards power. For two parliamentary sessions. Thank you, john curtis. Breaking news from syria, a rocket has hit a hospital in North Western syria, where victims of a suspected Chemical Attack are being treated. Pa rt Chemical Attack are being treated. Part of the building has been destroyed, according to an afp corresponded. No other reports at this stage to back it up, an afp report saying that the building was hit in Khan Sheikhoun, bringing rubble on medics, as they tried to treat victims of an attack that killed at least 58 people. Reports indicate that the correspondence who is reporting this is inside of the hospital. We do not know, obviously, if that has happened and whether it would have been a deliberate targeting, or a rocket going astray, there have been allegations in the past that hospitals have been deliberately targeted, by these rockets. Hospitals dealing with the aftermath of a suspected Chemical Weapon Attack in Khan Sheikhoun, in North Western syria, 58 civilians have been killed including 11 children, according to the Syrian Observatory For Human Rights. We will keep you updated on the latest in that. Time for a look at the weather. Fine and dry weather once again is on offer for the majority of the uk, there are always exceptions with the british weather we have seen a fair number of shower was going through the highlands of scotland. An ominous looking view of kent, we have this shower in the north, and across southern counties. Between some light drizzle, there is a lot of dry, fine and settled weather to be found. That process of trying will continue with the odd shower here and there but they will be few and far between. A different day in the south and in the east, it feels cooler and fresher than it has done in recent days, but there will be more strong sunshine over the next few days. The main issue this evening is an escalation in the wind. Severe gales in the north. Elsewhere, it will be chilly in the countryside, a colder start tomorrow morning. Sunshine around, and we have bright skies rather than sunny for many, some high cloud around. See you later. This is bbc Newsroom Live. The headlines a suspected gas attack kills at least 35 people in the rebel stronghold of idlib in Northern Syria, with 60 wounded. The Syrian Government has repeatedly denied using Chemical Weapons. Theresa may has criticised the Chocolate Manufacturer Cadbury and the Heritage Charity National Trust for omitting the word easter from the annual Easter Egg Hunt they are running jointly. She said she found the omission absolutely ridiculous. Lets get an update on the sport. Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says his sides struggles this season prove finishing in the Premier Leagues top four is not as easy as it looks. Hes led them to a top four spot and Champions League qualification for the past 20 seasons. But with 10 games left, they are currently in sixth place, seven points adrift. It isa it is a good challenge, but i think it is perfectly possible, you know. For 20 years i have done it and it looked always like it is nothing and suddenly it becomes important, so i am quite pleased that people realise that it am quite pleased that people realise thatitis am quite pleased that people realise that it is not as easy as it looks. If you listen to what was said the other day, to achieve top four in england is a trophy. We have a difficult task in front of us, but i am happy that people realise suddenly that it is not as easy as it has always looked. There are further questions for david moyes to answer today. The Football Association will ask for his observations of an incident in which he told a female reporter she might get a slap. Moyes will be in the dugout for sunderlands Trip To Leicester in the Premier League this evening but he could face sanctions as a result of the fa inquiries. He told media yesterday he deeply regrets his comments which have stirred debate over his future. Well, he should think about his position as manager because he has a big responsibility, not only to the Football Club, but to football in general. We are always been told that everyone involved in football is an ambassador, so if he is an ambassador, that is not very good. All i know is that he has apologised and vicky, to her credit, is prepared to accept the apology. Where it goes from here is whether people want to pressurise the key and others if they want to do something about that. Back to me would be a great shame. That to me is wrong. A witchhunt and all this sort of thing, i feel that there is iio sort of thing, i feel that there is no need for that right now. Chelsea forward eni aluko says england coach mark sampson is sending a dangerous message by not selecting players based on form. Aluko was left out of sampsons squad for euro 2017 despite ending the season as the top scorer in the Womens Super League. Its all the more surprising given england have failed to score in 4 of their last 8 games. The best Ice Hockey Players in the world wont be competing at next years winter olympics. The National Hockey leagues not going to allow players to go to the games because the owners of the leagues 30 clubs dont want to interrupt the season. Although it seems its about compensation that the teams want. The International Olympic committee have released a statement saying they feel sorry for the athletes and pointing out that theyd offered the same conditions. They go on to say. Mike ford has left his role as toulon coach with immediate effect following the defeat on sunday. Richard coppell will become the edinburgh head coach in the summer, but will take charge of toulon until the end of the season. That is all the end of the season. That is all the sport for now. I will be back with more in the next hour. A man who pleaded guilty to raping and indecently assaulting a woman with severe Learning Disabilities who he kept captive in his house has been jailed for 15 years at Craigavon Crown court. Keith bakers wife, caroline who was also involved in the years of sexual abuse was sentenced to three years for a series of related offences, with 18 months to be served during sentencing the judge said it was difficult to see how someone had lost their moral compass to such an extent that they could subject someone to such treatment. For most of a decade this estate in craigavon housed the secret of soomin abuse. Inside the home and hidden from sight, keith and Caroline Baker kept a woman with severe Learning Difficulties a virtual prisoner and for eight years they raped and indecently assaulted her. The vulnerable woman went missing in england in 2004. She was only found here in Northern Ireland eight years later. She was not keep bakehs eight years later. She was not keep bakers the victim. He was raping me for 13 years. I could not tell anybody about it. It was hurting. Mandy highfield live with the couple and is the mother of some of keith bakehs and is the mother of some of keith bakers would on. She says she did not know that the bakers were sexually abusing the woman kept captive in the house, but she did eventually contact the police because of the conditions she was being kept in. She was in her 40s, but she was like a 12 year old. Keith took the handle off her door. There was no light bulb in her room, no carpet on the floor, no curtains up no carpet on the floor, no curtains up against the window. It was like a little prison. They were sick people, just really sick people. I just dont know how anybody, anybody can do Something Like that to a mentally disabled woman. When the police found the woman inside an unlit bedroom in the house, she weighed just six stones. The court was told that she only had one solid tooth. Neighbours say keep baker appeared controlling of his wife but they never imagined what was going on behind these doors. they never imagined what was going on behind these doors. Ijust thought she was in a situation of Domestic Violence with a controlling husband. It was very quiet, we never heard anything. During the search of the house, which is no longer owned by the bakers, police found video taken by the couple of them are abusing the vulnerable woman. The whole case is upsetting and depraved. The suffering of this woman over a period of around eight years can only be imagined. It has been an awful life that this woman has been exposed to at the hands of Keith Bakerand has been exposed to at the hands of keith baker and his wife. The dark truth of what happened in this house may now have been exposed, but authorities on both sides of the irish sea now face serious questions about how she ended up in the hands ofa about how she ended up in the hands of a couple who abused her while pretending to offer her a home. We can go to chris butler. We heard a lot of reaction from people who we re a lot of reaction from people who were horrified to hear what that happened. The details of what happened. The details of what happened to this woman are so disturbing that we just cant deport them. Ican disturbing that we just cant deport them. I can tell you that in the images that they took, there were videos of them abusing them, this was both pete and Caroline Baker, the couple this woman. She was seen from going from being relatively healthy to being a mum morris. There was plenty of food in the house and fridge, but she was kept in the bedroom. She only had one solid tooth in her head. This was a woman who suffered years of a breeze. Questions will now being. Saying that she was with friends and she was ok, but the woman was not capable of reading and writing. There will be questions asked about how she was not found. Both keys and Caroline Baker were known to social services here in Northern Ireland. Questions are being asked and there should be an enquiry. The fact this continued for so long is something that cannot be just ignored, it has to be investigated now. The really strange thing is having been to where they live, you speak to neighbours and they simply did not know of the existence of this woman. She was hidden inside the house, but four years went through in effect what was torture. I listen carefully in the courts and a detective said when they rescued her from the house, rescue being a word they specifically use, they asked the woman when she was being driven away if she was happy and she said yes, freedom. She was abuse that eight yea rs freedom. She was abuse that eight years and now questions need to be asked. There was a Global Movement them to ban landmines, but it got taken up another level essentially by dianas engagement, by walking through one of ourlandmines. Engagement, by walking through one of our landmines. She had on the visor and ballistic vest and walked through a working landmine. That helped to particularly push the uk government who were perhaps hesitant to sign the treaty. We are in a situation now where the arm huge numbers of mines that have been cleared. Over 20 countries have been completed. We finished mozambique in 2015 and we arm within, we think, given the right sort of commitment, we are within ten years of finishing thejob. We are within ten years of finishing the job. So this is about Clearing Landmines that will put the historically, landmines that have not been used and are not being used any more . There are very few countries laying landmines. Last year we think syria, north korea and burma are the only countries that use landmines, and certainly did production and sale of landmines has pretty much dried up. We were Clearing Landmines on the thailand border in 1999 and they were made in the 1970s and 1980s. It is a big job to clear them, but we are inside of doing it, providing we get sufficient Financial Support and there is the political will bear. We certainly have the expertise. Tell us certainly have the expertise. Tell us about the work you do . Obviously a very bravejob us about the work you do . Obviously a very brave job you do, clearing these mines. I am the assistant Operations Manager of halo cambodia. Lam Operations Manager of halo cambodia. I am responsible for over 1000 staff, 30 of them are female. It is a very hard and dangerousjob. However, we have a very strict Safety Procedure which is simple for the miners to follow and make themselves safe. We also have advisers. We also have advisers and personal protective equipment. Each minor uses a Metal Detector for clearing and each minor has the area to work. Painstaking work. In one day, how many minds would get cleared . Day, how many minds would get cleared . It depends on the minefields, but average numbers are 20 per sites. Site. Prince harry is now going to be championing the cause in the footsteps of his mother, supporting the efforts to get landmines cleared by 2025. Is that the realistic aspiration . I think it is a realistic aspiration. I think it will take political will and the signs are that the uk government is prepared to take a Leadership Role in this, which is really fantastic, andi in this, which is really fantastic, and i think the fact that we have got this beats coming up by prince harry, i think hes going to talk from experience of his own trips to minefields. There is expertise. We do have the two biggest mine clearing organisations here, but we need money. We think that this could be done within ten years with approximately 100 million a year. Its not an insubstantial amount of money, but the scale of the aid we give, is 1 a year of the uk aid budget. Im not suggesting the uk should pay for all of it, but there is a real opportunity to pretty much finished the job. There will be challenging places like syria that will take longer, but for most of these countries we are in a position to finish the job. Thank you for coming in. A lot of concern about Online Fashion retail in particular, especially Customer Service and the sheer number of close them back by consumers and online retailer struggling to deal with that. It seems as if asos has turned the corner . It is right and thatis turned the corner . It is right and that is why traditional high street retailers whove moved online are struggling to get the dynamic of all those challenging elements. Experienced firefighter Simon Mcnally used to train new recruits. It meant several times a day he was exposed to fires of almost a thousand celsius. Then one day at work he had a heart attack. I was in denial. You are hoping it is something else. You are hoping it is not going to be as sinister as a heart attack. It came as a bit of a shock. We keep ourselves reasonably fit in the fire service. We have to take part in a standard test every year. It was a bit confusing to be faced with those symptoms. Heart attacks are the leading cause of death for front line firefighters. Studies in america show almost half of all firefighters who died on duty are killed by heart problems. The new Research Carried out by Edinburgh University monitored the heart of 19 healthy firefighters during mock rescues. It found Body Temperatures rose by one celsius and remained high for a up to four hours afterwards. Blood vessels failed to relax and the blood became stickier, forming potentially harmful clots. Scientists believe the reason was the extreme physical exertion and heat. They say simple measures like staying hydrated and breaks are vital for saving the lives of firefighters. I think what the National Trust is doing is, frankly, ridiculous. New Research Suggests that firefighters may have a higher heart attack risk because of Long Exposures to high temperatures. Good morning, its tuesday the 4th of april. Im joanna gosling. Welcome to bbc Newsroom Live. At least 58 people are reported to have been killed in a suspected gas attack in syria. A british based Monitoring Group says either Syrian Government or russian planes carried out the bombing in the town of Khan Sheikhoun in the rebel held province of idlib. The Syrian Observatory For Human Rights believes the dead are mostly civilians, among them children. At least 60 people are thought to have been injured. The Syrian Government has denied using Chemical Weapons. Medics treating survivors of the attack have described evidence that would indicate potentially a Chemical Attack with some survivors suffering from Respiratory Problems, and symptoms including vomiting, fainting and foaming at the mouth. After that attack there are reports that a hospital treating the wind it has been hit by a rocket. The injured. Rubble was brought down on medics treating survivors and the injured in that hospital. Our correspondent ben james is in beirut where a number of reports are filtering in of the suspected Chemical Attack. The initial attack and now reports of the hospital treating the injured being hit by a rocket, what can you tell us . We are certainly looking at those reports, we cannot bring you much more on that so far, we know the Syrian Observatory For Human Rights, the Monitoring Group, are talking about at least 58 people have been killed in this Early Morning air strike on the town of Khan Sheikhoun, on a strategic highway between italy and how ouma provinces, close to the boundary idlib. Close to areas controlled by other groups and the government, the Monitoring Group said people were choking and fainting after this air strike took place. Pictures that activists have posted online, we cannot verify them but they are on their sites including facebook, talking about and showing children who appear to have Difficulty Breathing and being treated by doctors, showing some people foaming at the mouth, and pictures to graphic to broadcast showing what appeared to be the dead, the victims, on trucks. Some have had clothes ta ken victims, on trucks. Some have had clothes taken off, so that people could hose them down with water to alleviate the effects. No official response from the Syrian Government yet, they have repeatedly denied using gas and Chemical Weapons in the past. A un and opc w, the organisation of the Prohibition Of Thenis Organisation of the prohibition of then is report last year found three insta nces then is report last year found three instances where they said the Syrian Government used chlorine gas in 2014, they talked about so called Islamic State using mustard gas during the syrian conflict as well. Chemical weapons have, according to those agencies, been used as a weapon during the conflict. We will wait and see whether the attack today can be verified in that way. Chemical weapons would be particularly significant as they are banned by an international and universal treaty, america has previously described the use of Chemical Weapons as a red line. What are the chances of actually getting to the bottom of whether they are being used . It is very difficult, to get close and get on the ground in this part of syria. It is something we cannot do aside from talking to sources on the ground. You talked about the Obama Administration talking about the red line, there we re talking about the red line, there were Chemical Attacks in 2013 around damascus which led to the threat of Military Access to the Syrian Government from the us, but afterwards, the us and russia brokered a deal through the opc w to decommission a declared stockpile of Chemical Weapons from the Syrian Government. They said that exercise had been completed at the start of 2016, questions from Opposition Forces are whether or not some chemicals remain which were not declared as part of the stockpile. For the part of the Syrian Government, they talk about the Opposition Forces being guilty of using such banned weapons. The accusations fly both ways. Thank you. Ben james accusations fly both ways. Thank you. Benjames in beirut. We will be speaking to the International Committee of the red crosss advise on weapons later. We will have his reaction on this latest reports and reports that a hospital treating victims of the attack has been hit bya victims of the attack has been hit by a rocket, it has previously been alleged that hospitals have been deliberately targeted. The number of people known to have died in the explosion on the St Petersburg metro yesterday has risen to 14. Russian sources have said that they believe it was a Suicide Bomber. What is the latest that investigators are saying about who may have been behind this, and why . Investigators in moscow say that they know who did this, and it looks like it was a Suicide Bomber. They found the remains and say they belong to the man who detonated the Explosive Device. They have not said who it is and will not confirm state m e nts who it is and will not confirm statements from kyrgyzstan, who identified the 22 year old man who lived in russia. Russian investigators are not known for being talkative and we can expect a long delay before they come out with any public statements. What about theories as to why . If you ask me theories as to why . If you ask me the reasons to this, well, the explanations will inevitably be going towards radicalised extremists muslims, which exist in russia. Russian Security Services have never made it secret that there are hundreds of people within the Russian Federation and republics like kyrgyzstan, but also Central Asian states who are coming to russia. They are known to be linked to extremists, and travelling to syria and coming back. We know that the new year attack in istanbul was carried out by a citizen of a Central Asian state. Thank you. Six more people, aged between 15 and 22, have been charged over an attack on 17 year Asylum Seeker Reker Ahmed In Croydon last friday. It brings the number of people charged over the attack to 13. Our Home Affairs Correspondent tom symonds is in croydon and gave me this update. Police talked about 20 or 30 being involved in this incident. Theyve arrested 16 and currently 13 have been charged, thats ten men or young men and a boy and three females, three young people. All of these people are quite young. Theyre all local to where this attack happened and theyre charged with two key offences. Violent disorder, theyre all charged with and that involves a threat of violence in a group of people. But three of them are charged with racially aggravated gbh grievous body harm. The racially aggravated bit of that can increase the sentence. There has been quite a debate in the community here about the element of racial aggravation within this incident. One man is charged with dangerous driving. He was in a car that was seen at the scene, its claimed. As i say, they will all appear here in front of magistrates and quite a lot of paperwork and discussions to be had about whether they get bail and where this case proceeds from here on. A man who pleaded guilty to raping and indecently assaulting a woman with severe Learning Disabilities who he kept captive in his house has been jailed for 15 years at Craigavon Crown court. Keith bakers wife caroline, who was also involved in the years of sexual abuse, was sentenced to three years for a series of related offences. The judge said it was difficult to see how someone had lost their moral compass to such an extent that they could subject someone to such treatment. Our ireland correspondent Chris Buckler is at the court in craigavon for us now. A particularly shocking case . Yes, details of the case and the abuse are disturbing. Not only did keith and Caroline Baker rape and indecently assault this woman with severe Learning Difficulties, they also videoed some of it and questions will be asked about how such a bond rubble woman can simply go missing for eight years. The alarm was raised by a woman who also lived inside the house alongside the bakers. She also said that she was raped by keith baker. She was known in courtjust as miss x but raised her right to anonymity to describe what happened in the house. For most of a decade, this estate in craigavon housed the secret of serial abuse. Inside their home and hidden from sight, keith and Caroline Baker kept a woman with severe Learning Difficulties a virtual prisoner and for eight years they raped and indecently assaulted her. The vulnerable woman went missing in england in 2004 and was only found here in Northern Ireland eight years later and she wasnt keith bakers only victim. He was raping me for 13 years. And i couldnt tell anybody about it. And it was hurting. Mandy highfield lived with the couple and is the mother of some of keith bakers children. She says she didnt know that the bakers were sexually abusing the woman kept captive in their house but she did eventually contact the police because of the conditions she was being kept in. She was 45 but she was like a 12 year old. Keith took the handle off her door. There was no lightbulb in her light, no carpet on the floor. No curtains up against the window. It was like a little prison. They were sick people, just really sick people. I dont know how anybody, anybody, can do Something Like that to a mentally disabled woman. When the police found the woman, inside an unlit bedroom in the house, she weighed just six stone and the court was told that she only had one sound tooth. Neighbours say keith baker appeared controlling of his wife but they never imagined what was going on behind these doors. I just. Ijust thought she was in a situation with Domestic Violence with an abusive husband that didnt let her out, that was controlling. But it was very, very quiet, never heard anything. During their search of the house, which is no longer owned by the bakers, detectives found videos taken by the couple of them abusing the vulnerable woman. The whole case is extremely upsetting, its horrific and its depraved and the suffering of this woman over a period of around eight years can only are imagined. It has been an awful life that this woman has been exposed to at the hands of baker and his wife. The dark truth of what happened at this house may now have been exposed but authorities on both sides of the irish sea face serious questions about how she ended newspaper the hands of a couple who abused her under the pretence of offering her a home. Questions about how she ended up in the hands of a couple who abused her under the pretence of offering her a home. Chris buckler, bbc news, craigavon. The timeline of this is important. It was December 2012 that this woman was eventually found inside of the home of the bakers. I spoke to Suffolk Constabulary and they confirmed to me in march 2004, more than 80 is beforehand, she was reported missing by her husband. Eight years. But then they received a phone call the next day from a woman on their mobile phone who said that she was ok. They closed the case. Her brother told authorities here that he received a letter from this woman, saying that she was with friends in ireland. But, she could neither read or write. This was a very vulnerable woman which has raised questions about how this abuse and disappearance could have gone on for so long, more than eight years. A Democratic Unionist is calling for a Filling Quarry into what happened here, and how this abuse continued for so long a full enquiry. The headlines on bbc Newsroom Live an alleged Poison Gas Attack on a town in syrias Idlib Province has killed at least 58 people, according to a Monitoring Group. Lets get a sports update now. Good afternoon, joanna. Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says his sides struggles this season prove finishing in the Premier Leagues top four is not as easy as it looks. Hes led them to a top four spot and Champions League qualification in each of the past 20 seasons but with ten games left they currently in 6th place, seven points adrift. It isa it is a good challenge, but i think it is perfectly possible. Certainly, ive done this for 20 years. Suddenly, it becomes important. Im quite pleased, to realise that people realise it isnt as easy as it looks. To achieve a top four in england is a trophy. It is so difficult. Of course we have a difficult. Of course we have a difficult task in front of us, but im happy as well, that people have realised that suddenly, it isnt as easy as it always looks. He can certainly think about his position as manager, he has a big responsibility, not only to the football clu b responsibility, not only to the Football Club that football in general. Lets go back to the news coming from syria this morning ofa of a suspected Chemical Attack in idlib, 58 People Killed, survivors of the attack have been foaming at the mouth and struggling to breathe which leads to it being suspected chemicals were used. Serious as they do not use Chemical Weapons, reports ofa do not use Chemical Weapons, reports of a Rocket Attack on the hospital treating survivors. I can now speak to neil davison who is a Weapons Adviser for the International Committee for the red cross. Hejoins me from geneva. Thank you very much forjoining us. What is your reaction to these reports . The use of Chemical Weapons is absolutely prohibited in all circumstances and International Humanitarian law, the law of armed conflict. They have been appalled over the last four years about repeated allegations and some confirmation of use of Chemical Weapons. There has been confirmed to use of nerve agents, chlorine and mustard gas. Tell us more about the evidence that you talk about, to back the allegations that Chemical Weapons are being used. Syria has repeatedly denied it has them and uses them . There were some investigations carried out by the un, with organisation for the prohibition of Chemical Weapons over the last several years. To verify the last several years. To verify the use of Chemical Weapons and in some cases to determine responsibility. We do not take part in such investigations due to our working methods. But, where we have first hand information about the use of Chemical Weapons, we raise it with those parties for the conflict concerned, and sometimes we issue public statements like we did last month, about a Chemical Attack in mosul. Tell us about that attack . This attack, some victims of a Chemical Attack were treated in a hospital where there were some of our medics. They were seen to be victims of a blister agent. In this particular incident, it seems to be a much more large scale incident, if the reports are correct. Let me point out that the icici is not present in idlib, we do not have first hand information only what is being reported. If confirmed, the attack would be the second largest Chemical Weapons attack the syrian conflict, second only to the large scale use of nerve agents in august 20 13. We are just hearing that france is calling for an Emergency Un Security Council meeting. After this suspected Chemical Attack which has killed 58 people. Do you have a position on what the International Community should do . Our view is quite clear, these weapons are prohibited in all circumstances. These weapons are prohibited in all ci rcu msta nces. States these weapons are prohibited in all circumstances. States that are party to the Chemical Weapons Convention need to make sure that the prohibition is upheld. And ensure that they take the right measures to uphold this prohibition. Separately, there are also reports of a rocket being fired at the hospital where victims of the attack are being treated. It has been alleged on many occasions that hospitals have been deliberately attacked, do you have any thoughts on that . deliberately attacked, do you have any thoughts on that . I do not have any thoughts on that . I do not have any direct information but this has certainly been a major concern for us certainly been a major concern for us for a number of years. Direct attacks on Health Care Facilities and health care workers, it is a major humanitarian problem. Thank you very much. Thank you. The powerful south African Trade Union Federation Cosatu a key ally of the governing African National congress has called on president jacob zuma to step down. Mr zuma has faced growing pressure to resign since firing his widely respected Finance Minister last month. The president has given a speech defending the decision and urged the country to unite. On monday, a prominent Ratings Agency reacted to the sacking by downgrading south africas Credit Rating to junk status. Our south africa correspondent karen allen is injohannesburg. Tell us more about the crisis . That that rating state is being moved to junk after the sacking of the Finance Minister, how much they crisis is south africa in . A lot of things are happening at once, the engine is gathering speed. You mention that Ratings Agency, Last Night One of the prominent ratings agencies downgraded that Investment Status to junk, meaning that it will be far more expensive for the South African Government to be able to service its debt. Money can be spent creating jobs and dealing with problems like housing and a lot of problems that south africa face and what has been promised to deliver on that. In conjunction to what happened this morning, we had a prominent voice in the tri party alliance, the congress basically breaking ranks and saying it is time forjacob zuma to step down, which is significant because it comes hot of the heel of another Alliance Partner at the weekend to serve the same thing. At the weekend, cosatu said they do not believe that jacob zuma is the right man to lead the country, he is a divisive influence. They are concerned about a Cabinet Reshuffle at the weekend. The popular and by all accounts competent Finance Minister was sacked which they believe was based on political loyalties, and not based on the ability to deliver. Finally they raised concerns about the influence of the gupta family, the controversial Business Family they believe was unduly wielding influence over president jacob believe was unduly wielding influence over president jacob zuma. Very damning but what becomes of this . It might involved in those who are pushing for a vote of no confidence in parliament. At the moment, parliament is in recess but the speaker is in consultations this afternoon to see whether mps will be recalled. If so, it will take 70 anc mps to effectively cross the floor to vote with the opposition in order to vote with the opposition in order to unseat jacob zuma which is to vote with the opposition in order to Unseatjacob Zuma which is a big ask, especially because it will be an open vote. Thank you. Theresa may has described the decision to drop the easter from the name of cadbury and National Trust egg hunts as absolutely ridiculous. From dundee to torquay. Bunny will be hiding easter eggs all over the uk so, join in the fun with cadburys Great British egg hunt. Im notjust a vicars daughter but a member of the National Trust. I think their stance is ridiculous and i dont know what they are thinking. Easter is very important, to me and a very important festival for the Christian Faith and for millions across the world. I think what the National Trust is doing is, frankly, ridiculous. Cadbury said it used the Phrase Easter in its marketing for over 100 years and continues to do so in its current campaigns the National Trust also denied it was downplaying the significance of easter and there are dozens of references on its website. Time for a look at the weather now. Time for a look at the weather now. Good afternoon. A lot of dry weather in the forecast over the next few days. If you are looking for rain, you will be out of luck. Sunshine in places. If you look at recent satellite pictures, there are areas of cloud pushing in across north west scotland. Showers and strong winds, thick cloud in the south east. That has produced some rain today, and some breaks in the cloud, some brighter spells. Then we have this nice spell of sunshine through Northern Ireland, south eastern scotland, and in the south west. The best being 15 or 16 degrees which will not feel bad. Tonight, showers continue across scotland. We have severe gales here, losing rain from the south east. Where we have clear spells, we have patches of mist and a touch of frost. A couple of degrees is possible in the countryside but where we have the coldest starts in the south, that is where we have the best sunshine. Things cloud over in the north, things dried that the drizzle here and there, mainly fine weather continues for the end of the week. This is bbc Newsroom Live. Theresa may has criticised the Chocolate Manufacturer Cadbury and the Heritage Charity National Trust for omitting the word easter from the annual Easter Egg Hunt they are running jointly. A group of mps has challenged the government to prove theresa mays claim that no deal is better than a bad deal on brexit. The exiting the eu committee is calling on the government to urgently assess the impact of leaving without an agreement on future trading arrangements. In response theresa may has again insisted it is in both the uk and the eus interest to strike a deal. In their report the mps Say Parliament should be consulted before ministers walk away without a deal. But six pro brexit mps on the committee voted against the report, saying it was too gloomy. The Conservative Dominic Rabb is one of the mps on the committee who refused to support the report. For me, it was far too obsessively focused on one side which was the risks and downsides of leaving the eu with scant real attention to the upside and opportunities. What we should be doing, i believe, is both. Let us go to hilary benn, chair of the exiting committee. The committee was divided on this. Some feeling it has painted to negative a view . Im sorry some members of the committee did not feel. That was a Fair Assessment of the evidence before us. It was a report focusing on the governments White Paper Setting out its negotiating objectives. For example, it was not a report looking at future Trading Opportunities with the rest of the world because that will not be negotiated as part of the article 15 negotiations which are about to begin. On the central question of no deal, we say very simply that without an Economic Assessment of what that would mean, and david davis confirmed that no deal would mean a return of tariffs, something that businesses do not once, it would affect the ability of the British Services industry. 1 Million People work in Financial Services, most of them outside london and it would impact on that, write to you to the emergency medical treatment we can get with the eu medical card. All of these things will no longer apply and without that evidence, without an indication of what the government would do to mitigate the impact, we say clearly that the assertion is no deal being better than a bad deal should be substantiated. Was it designed to show an intent to be ha rd designed to show an intent to be hard lines and to get the best deal . Try to flush out information about it might, the government would say, damage britains negotiating position. Nobody wants to do that. Every single one of us wants the United Kingdom to get the best possible deal out of these negotiations, but if you are going to indicate that you will be prepared to walk away with no agreement at all, then it is incumbent on the select committee, because it is ourjob to scrutinise what the government is doing and hold it to account, to spell out what the consequences of that would be and there are some people in this debate using to think that that will be the best outcome. Now that is not the governments position, it is not the governments position, it is not the select committees position because all of us want a deal that will continue to give us trade without any tariffs or barriers and will continue to allow British Businesses to be able to sell their services into the european market, but we dont yet know whether the eu will agree to that in the course of these negotiations. David davis the brexit Secretary Has says a responsible government should prepare for all potential outcomes. Do you doubt that the work you are talking about is being done in order to be pragmatic and properly understand what potential outcomes could happen . He has said that and eve ryo ne could happen . He has said that and everyone would expect the government to be looking at all of the possibilities which is why it was, to put it gently, surprising when he appeared before the select committee, and having confirmed what the consequences of a no deal would be, i put to him the question has the government done an Economic Assessment as to what no deal would mean and he says no, we havent done it since before the referendum. I was not expecting that answer because i assumed as probably eve ryo ne because i assumed as probably everyone else did that the government was doing an assessment of all the possible outcomes of these negotiations and i think it is important that that work is done because a great deal rests on the out come, in david daviss words, of what is going to be the most complex negotiations we have ever undertaken of the country. If that work is done, should it be made public . That isa done, should it be made public . That is a matter ofjudgment. We have been clear that there is a balance to be struck. No one is expecting the government to reveal its Fallback Position of red lines, that would be sensible, but at the beginning we said to the government in ourfirst report beginning we said to the government in our first report at a time when they were arguing with them to try and get the best deal, when going to give you a running commentary, as a committed we thought it was insufficient because it is reasonable to asked the government to set out the negotiating intentions. Todays report is an analysis of what the white paper set out. No one wants to damage negotiations but at the very least we Wa Nt Negotiations but at the very least we want to know the government is preparing for all possible outcomes and the view the Committee Takes is that leaving with no deal would be bad to the british economy. He said to be the Committee Takes, but the committee was split. Six voted against. Dominic rab said the report was rushed, skewed and partisan. It says that rackley said it undermined its credibility. I dont share dominics view in this case. He is a highly established member of the committee and we have worked together. I thought it was a fair and balanced report and i would urge people to read it and then they can make up their own minds. Hilary benn, thank you very much. Let us get more on the reports from Northern Syria that at least 58 people have been killed in idlib. Most of the dead in the raid were civilians and either the Syrian Government of russian planes carried out the bombing. We can talk now to wa nt out the bombing. We can talk now to want other directors from the charities working in syria. What your reaction to what is being said in terms of the Chemical Attack . We are concerned about these repeated attacks. We have seen an unprecedented increase of attacks on medicalfacilities and unprecedented increase of attacks on medical facilities and civilians unprecedented increase of attacks on medicalfacilities and civilians in the past weeks and it is concerning. Tell us more about the evidence. We know an attack happened this morning, at about seven oclock in the morning. Where it happened isnt area where there is ongoing fighting. In this area around 2500 people have been displaced. On top of the fighting, they are now being targeted by these types of attacks which are very concerning. What we know in terms of information is that so far, the casualties are between 50 and 60 and also there are more than 200 injured people. Many patients have been transported to other hospitals. I dont have any medical reports yet, but patients are being checked on. As far as we know, since the first report, patients are reporting concerning symptoms in terms of the medical situation. The situation continues to be very concerning. Patients are breathless, high heart rate and vomiting. There are also reports of a rocket subsequently hitting the hospital that has been treating those injured in the attack. There have been previous claims that medicalfacilities are have been previous claims that medical facilities are deliberately targeted. Yes. Since the beginning of the year at least 21 facilities have been hit by air strikes. It caused the death of an offer btec an orthopaedic surgeon, and there are many in the country. Thank you. Theresa may is Holding Trade Talks in saudi arabia today, with labour urging her not to sacrifice human rights for the sake of arms sales. Critics want the government to ban the sale of british weapons to the kingdom. Theyve been used in attacks on rebel forces in yemen, but speaking to our chief Political Correspondent john pienaar in riyadh, the Prime Minister said it was right to support the saudi led coalition. We are concerned about the humanitarian situation. Thats why the uk was the fourth largest donor to the yemen in terms of humanitarian aid. We will be continuing with that. Yes, we will raise the humanitarian issue. It is important we recognise the threat there is in terms of peoples lives, and we will be supporting that through the aid and support we give. Do you expect a frosty reception when you raise issues of human rights . The important thing for the United Kingdom when we meet people and we want to raise issues of human rights, and that may be in a number of countries, is if we have a relationship with them, we can do that. Rather than standing on the sidelines sniping, it is important to engage, to talk to people, to talk about our interests, and to raise difficult issues when it is necessary. We can talk now to be chair of contemporary middle Eastern Studies at the London School of economics. Thank you forjoining us. Theresa may says those who focus on the human rights issues should not carp on the sidelines and should look at britains Strategic National interests. How do you see it . Its very simple. Theresa may views International Relations through transactions, business and security. A much more complex approach will be to have an engage policy whereby business and trade along with human rights, suddenly this particular government human rights and political reforms take a secondary seat to business and this is not good for britain and it is not good for The Middle East. She says that the humanitarian issue will be raised. She says it is important that it raised. She says it is important thatitis raised. She says it is important that it is recognised and that the threat that is there in terms of peoples lives, she says this country is supporting that through the aid and support we give. Country is supporting that through the aid and support we givem country is supporting that through the aid and support we give. Is that enough . Well look, this is a massive economic and financial relationship between Great Britain and the gulf. Just give your viewers an idea of what we are talking about, the past two years the United Kingdom has sold saudi arabia 3 billion of arms. There is more to come. Two thirds of the uk arms sales go to The Middle East. Tens of billions of pounds i invested in the uk economy. The post exit british strategy is to expand trade and business and security, in particular with The Middle East and the gulf where there isa middle east and the gulf where there is a huge market. Mum money that britain should not deepen and expand its economic and financial and business ties with The Middle East. The problems facing the United Kingdom is how do you create a more nuanced and complex approach whereby human rights and political reforms are at the centre of british strategy . The fact is that when theresa may keeps saying british interests, security interests, national interests, that is fine, thatis national interests, that is fine, that is realism, but where does the human rights and political reform coming . Were talking about the yemen war. Its a war that has been taking place for two years. It is a proxy war between iran and saudi arabia. The United Kingdom and the United States are the United Kingdom and the United States a re key the United Kingdom and the United States are key players in the war. It is time to talk about humanitarian questions and to find a political settlement to exert pressure on iran and saudi arabia and the groups who have taken over the government in yemen to find a solution. 17 Million People in yemen are on the verge of starvation. People have been displaced. Alqaeda has emerged as one of the most potent organisations. British Foreign Policy and International Relations have to take into account Human Security as well. Human rights, political rights, political settle m e nts rights, political rights, political settlements and the complex issues raging in the heart of arabia and The Middle East. Thank you. New Research Suggests that working in high temperatures increases the risk of heart attack. Scientists were investigating why the most common cause of death for Serving Firefighters is heart attack or heart disease. Our health correspondent, sophie hutchinson, reports. This weekend, some extraordinary acts by young people are being celebrated at the Rotary Young Citizen Awards in manchester. There are seven winners from across Great Britain and the Republic Of Ireland, one of whom is a Mohamed Khalil from leeds. Mohamed grew up in syria. He was forced to the flee the country with his family when he was 10, having been shot in the leg during an attack on his school. He watched his friends die around and had to pretend he was dead so the attackers would walk away. Having moved to england, mohamed started going to leeds city academy, and has quickly become a credit to himself and his family. Ian bucknell has been to met him. Its not going from my head. I close the room im sitting in and thinking. Im quiet when im sitting because every time i think about the bad things that have happened to me. Mohameds family fled syria and eventually made a home in leeds. His mum has had surgery for cancer and his dad injured his back at work, so mohamed looks after them both and helps support the family with money he makes from working in a restau ra nt. His teachers are astonished at the progress mohamed has made. In school, as at home, hes made it hisjob to help others. His story is what pushes him and his story is what makes him want to change things and seeing the war at such a young age, he speaks about helping people that have been through that, that arent managing as well as him. And mohamed plans to dedicate the rest of his life to helping other people. Sometimes i feel like i want to earn a lot of money and i want to help society. If you help people, you feel happy.
