But it was only after the greatest Shaiman and no sort of wild sort of success of it did my agent kind of say I think you are in the world now part of that like Senator idea but you know I think blame is very very popular to any one time and I don't think she. It has been such a phenomenon 21 weeks it's been a number one of the U.K. Albums charts you know what's your theory about why so there's a saying in musicals that musicals work because of the book or the story that people love them because of the music and from the moment I was hearing these songs it just I loved them I could play them for my daughter for my mom everybody loved them on the 1st listen to you know and that's really hard with music and we spent 7 or eighty's writing on the songs and I think the lyrics really speak to the things that we're all feeling right now which is be true to yourself follow your own PAF that meet the needs of all about just be self and dream big and in a way we really it sounds like a convenient segue but that's kind of what this show is this is maybe actually the show This Is Who I Am This is the music I love and where do you know me from all over Reno of the greatest show I'm gonna lay me is you're probably going to say it's hard to me that you haven't seen before is there any chance of a sequel to the greatest showman it's a really interesting question because I'm not sure right now. I you know we don't have a situation in the business where the company that did it means all the time even though there's a lot of moving plates right now spinning blades but you know I'm not sure what that would do but it did take us a while to get the 1st one up and I it's not to be underestimated how difficult it is to get a musical up and going but it's clear to me you know every on the people of these characters and a lot of love stories that are nice for that of general way around are saying possibly but I'm not children might be involved in science like but I love this movie and I love this character and it was one of the great joys of my life and honestly there was a period where we'll enjoy how it was going to go. And then it became sort of caught fire and a lot of that has to do with thank God to the U.K. . That's really where that movie 1st really took off I think to everyone who was there the fans of it but I absolutely love it if I can you an opportunity came up where it felt like there I tend to do than the topic of. Touched on it then it got off to such a terrible start the price so much I mean the disabuse what you're emotionally diluted to the New Yorker and a shrill blast of nothing but when stoned and the 1st weekend was poor How worried were you at that point yeah I was worried I mean I was worried I'm one level because I've been around the business to know that when you don't get any e-mails not even a consolation sort of a mile then things are bad but we really are I'm a lover of underdog stories completely dismiss the itself and the story upon themselves as very much an underdog people didn't believe in him and he had ideas and dreams and and the movie weirdly that that the treachery of the movie itself matches the actual story that is in the movie I've never been part of anything like it I'm not sure if I ever will be part of anything like it again it may not be very long but I can tell you just from going around the Straits of all the movies I've done the people who love this movie who love it they really love it and I see it over and over again. Critics not mattering and that I think that matter I mean I met in May I think. I mean I think there's certain elements today of the movie going business who don't greet the New York Times or The God in the. Rolling sun whatever it is but I think what's more important what's more immediate is what your friends say you know because they used to be when I began in this business you would have a whole weekend where you'll move you could perform before anyone got to work on Monday or to school on Monday instead of talking about it so you had ideas weekend where Vaughn would go. That night or that no longer happens by like noon on a Friday people have gone there on social media so it's ultimately been fantastic to the movie business I think I mean it's terrifying if you're in marketing up a bit that business has been fantastic because the movie has to connect with audiences the movies have to be good people have to love it because if I don't love it they're going to tell every single person then I.
