Increase pay and reform pensions Royal Mail says it's sticking by the deal prime arc is warning its customers not to purchase its products from 3rd parties online as they'll be paying higher prices reports have suggested that the chain is now selling through Amazon but it says it's still not online and doesn't have a commercial relationship with the online retailer b.b.c. News it's 3 minutes past 8. 0 yes that's May It's New Music Tuesday that means a local music enthusiastic going to be here telling you that picks all the few tracks that they think you should have on your playlist. Those choices on the way for you after that. I don't want to. Do it would. Go for the. Window with. Every day. But it recently. Don't you. David Guetta and and Marie on that one it's called Don't leave me alone you know sent to b.b.c. Radio not again with. It's New Music Tuesday so Nick Strang is here and he's a founder of plates record shop and he's come a crit with some top picks for you as the New Music Tuesday Heinecke and I hunter so before we get into it tell me about plates record shop Yes So we started out as a record shop just like a music community kind of platform for artists and knowing him I run the record shop for years and now we just kind of run a record cutting studio which is basically a place where people can come and get their music onto a record which is a really rare kind of thing to have Yeah we talking about records yeah that's cool kind of like vinyl basically yeah so it's like a vinyl record it's slightly different I was made out of different material but it's exactly the same principle it can be played in a record player but it actually was out over time so it's like a really limited kind of thing to have which is cool was also material is it right now it's actually made a metal so the inside is metal and it's got coating on the outside that you cut the music into and it's how it's actually the 1st stage of pressing a vinyl record all records are get made start out that way my style is one of those called acetate or luck while you learn something new every day and we're trying to get the message out there yeah because there was this thing about kind of vinyl and record you know old school record calling old school and ready sorry if I'm offending you for your records playing a record listener somebody listens to vinyl because it was it was massively popular back in the day and now it's come back that's I guess what I'm trying to say is that something that you kind of see in the record shop and things yeah definitely I mean. When I opened the shop it was like something that people are talking about again so actually was timed and intentionally really well I love it when the happened I know it wasn't planned or so but yeah all of this talk about records coming back and stuff was just a really big help for us originally and obviously now it's kind of sustained itself and yet people. Still very much into it it's a difficult industry to make money still I think there's a lot of kind of misleading things about that but there's definitely passion for out there and that's the main thing I'm kind of and it was well do you remember the 1st record you had a little man this is what you are remember actually there was there was a one for the record I 1st went to a shop in Birmingham called hard to find records which is closed down now and I bought a handful of kind of miscellaneous dance music to learn how to d.j. Waves there was a couple of German bass records and. Probably some house and some techno and I just didn't really know as I just kind of trying to from together and learn how to date I so I probably still got a couple of them just for kind of memories but nothink particular impressive I think. Did it help you and you know I think that they Yeah because I didn't know what was doing and to be honest I was by no touch of different music trying to mix them together and you know I suppose that's the best way to learn and I think it's nice that record shops exist still so people can go and do the same thing themselves that's definitely what inspired me to kind of keep going with it i k And is that kind of how. Sort of side of things is that is that does that reflect your music taste now you know I mean I like all types of music I always have done so I wouldn't say that's all it is but as a d.j. I'm kind of out playing I guess a lot of club music and stuff my main thing is kind of break the jungle hardcore So kind of like early ninety's dance music was break break Well you know you definitely have played songs on the show with great b. It's kind of like it's a style of drum beat so you know hip hop for example uses a lot of great beats and soul and funk were originally the songs that people sampled those drum beats out of so break me is kind of like the backing drum trying to do a lot of that music Casey make teach me so much about music right so. I could write so that is at next drawing. And he's a founder and you know while he is going to some of his picks of some new Chuen say things that maybe you might fancy listening to so that is on the way for you. Something that maybe you do recognize this is Taylor Swift with love. We believe the gruesome scene. As it. Is one is. Going to. Be good little crash in there and. This is. The. One. Ball. Was. Swift and love a b.b.c. Radio Nothing him so. He is the founder of polite enough to get what is it based Well we don't actually have a shop anymore yes. As you mentioned right I'm going. To St Just off the market. Now we have. The full. Right cases of stuff going on down there yet much will happen yeah yeah so you have come with a couple of ideas. That you think people should be hearing so what's the 1st one yes so the 1st one. As it was explained. Is a bit mysterious kind of character. No no. No definitely. Someone I know well that really. Sort of music kind of writes. Just a really interesting take on. Someone pushing themselves to kind of get out that I thought it would be a good place to kind of get their music out and just think of it Ok And so how would you describe it. This 2nd this is this is kind of a break. Quite downtempo I. Guess a bit of a throwback to the ninety's kind of done stuff Ok Right so if that sounds like you kind of thing or a few think you know what I have no idea what Nick is or very well have a listen to this that it's called Untitled. See what you make of it. You know I don't lives imagine this playing like in a bar somewhere like in the background so that was entitled by Papa Juliet Why do you like it I'm just a big fan of the Kelly kind of early ninety's sounds and. Just got a good vibe is like cool little samples come in and nice kind of sympathizer and the drums are just good fun and yeah I think it would work as well in a bar like what you could picture a Kanye does and I think the bar you reckon it would win over was I don't know I mean I just I just imagine a ball of sorts it's a drink that you know you know one of the totality now. And so it's quite chilled out and I guess that's what I'm imagining you know when you walk away with a few mates and someone like you know you maybe are just having a drink it could be after work or whatever and you just kind of. Playing and you're trying I just kind of imagine that kind of reading nice chilled background music that's good as it is a fat Yeah I think that's a good endorsement really make it happen. Ok. That was opportunity it with a title and you know what next got another idea for you if you're looking for something new music wise to put on your playlist that is coming to you in the next few minutes right here on b.b.c. Radio tomorrow morning. Hello this is more going to soon still gearing up for March Big saying you're going to be hearing from one of the singing groups in the county where you can get involved as well also my 1st strictly practice as I got my chuck chuck chuck on what I don't know and it's the return of why Wednesday so life's biggest questions to Morrissey raise you. On the left. It was it's easy. Now as we. Wait for the. Living. Marshmellow and Bastille with happy b.b.c. Radio Nottingham a still got music scene for you from. Afrojack all that's a really really good to be feelin a bit of a kind of down this evening and he's got a nice new bit of energy that is a great one that's coming up for you just before half past 8 and then also got some George as your for you to Mark Ronson as well that is all on the way but before that some other music a to share with you because Nick strong who is from parts record shop is here and Nick and Nick's been giving you some some ideas really some new songs new tracks from I guess you could call them new and upcoming artists to to have from. Yeah I think so I mean they're definitely on the scene and they're definitely probably this is the 1st time they've been played on radio or not. That's really cool but some of them have been working for years just kind of behind the scenes and under the radar a little bit I say but they are new on the scene right Ok so you did hear from Papa Juliette It was one of them. Well what's the next track so next track from Jeff now he's a good friend of mine and she has been kind of pushing her own music through a record label she runs called Laurie cry water. Was a unique name is a unique name and they actually did a really nice thing of releasing just cassettes originally but they've now records and yeah she's a really underwrite producer I think from Nottingham and hopefully people here it's that I. And like it Ok so again how would you describe this well I guess techno influenced sort of experimental electronic music it's quite vague and I. I think just covers all bases and it's told off. So well I mean the best thing to do really would be to listen to it so this is cold you should know I'm permanent and it's by. Thank you Nic this is the what you make of this. That was deaf now with the you should know. A new song from a new artist that's been introduced to you that by next drawing is from whites record shop so make what you like that one I just think it's different more of the kind of done stuff that I'm hearing at the moment it fuses a lot of styles of music that I like and it's just refreshing to hear like I think a lot of stuff can just but head to a kind of standard set of sounds and I think she's really kind of pushing the boundaries with who. She's touring and yeah I definitely say it's unlike anything really that I've had before so yeah interesting I was just saying is well fed. Up to be a truck was something that you might hear in a ball and this one left the bar now going to the club yet dingy club loud sounds. Yeah yeah well Nick Leeson thank you for coming in and sharing your thoughts on some new music for us so if people want to find out more about pop Judea or death now how can they do that. You can help our website place Records dot com and you can get in touch me via e-mail or check out the Larry cry water run camp or website as well co Ok So Nick just before you go from oh I really interesting was going to say it's time for the truck trap the truck trap songs a very different to the songs that you brought in so let's see let's see how you do with these 2 Ok so here's your fest choice. Young t. And Bugsy alongside h. And strike me opposes Yeah I recognize that yet. It's good stuff and. Ok so that's a 1st on the 2nd one is this is. From. I don't know the song so this is fashion week and it's by steel Bangles a.j. Tracy and my stack goes right. So what you think and Nick you know well I've heard the 1st one and I know it gets played a lot and the 2nd. But yeah I've heard it quite a lot you know what also is good that it isn't wrong to be found Yeah although both tunes all book strike me has a slightly more I suppose new. Ok so does that mean that you will gravitating towards what I'm going to I'm going to say the 2nd one because I'm interested to hear it and hopefully people are less. Money with it and you know it's good and something different all right well I say that both the book they are both in the trial it's old they have both been in the charts at some point I guess here we go with. This and thank you so much for coming in and having a. Well always a pleasure on our end as well that is next trying and he's from Perth some record shop that says Time now for some Nick Jr. 2 Make Jonas feelin jealous apparently b.b.c.
