Radio no. Good morning how you doing today is really nice to have your company as an apparel in the Kirsteen thorn this week she'll be back with you next week we've got your opportunity to WIN A LUXURY a gorgeous artistically created Saturday Breakfast post I know you've just made yourself a cup of tea or coffee and you don't want to put on well we have exactly the item you need in that you've been missing in your life. Good so you got play again and she is not here this week she's off on a well address again and be coming in and because she's very musical Anyway we're going to be blindfolding her for 6 For that let's get out she's shaking my head diagnose her complex at the piano I don't hear excuses for ticks or. Good luck if you do enter I'll be good fun we'll start that off in a bit and we also be going to be sent wasn't Wally out and about he's gone. For us all when they're at it with a low allow he's going to a Frenchman. Great. Whites you know kill bring the smiles over the radio I don't know how you managed to say but but he does we've also got your weekend serving of a slice of soul and this week's chain is a really good tribute song so you can enjoy that one I'm talking to him about baby weighing station that's coming to a village and me you. Let's get the weekend gathering shall wait it's not unusual tell me this is how facing that moment. Byron. But. Tom Jones It's not unusual Well this week's sole session comes from Stephanie and Hardaway Morris but recognize the you know you well most of you probably know him as Stevie Wonder he's one of those artists that covers a whole range of musical style from Sol to Paul to jazz to R A A very cold man now I love my jazz and I play the trumpet in a big band locally and the track they were going to play today Frost slice of Sol we do play in the big band where we give it a go anyway I've never really thought the story behind it it's called City and it's one of those with a really well known intro that immediately identifies itself as the song that you know it is it's written as a tribute to well in Stevie's opinion the greatest jazz of all time juke adding 10 so the Jews died in 1000 $974.00 and he was an artist a really shaped Stevie Wonder and his music and he just a musician a really thought a lot of so he was already low Stevie Wonder because he'd experienced a death of his 2 other idols singer and pianist on Washington and guitarist Wes Montgomery so he was a bit gutted and had planned to collaborate some of his musical styles with them but sadly they passed away before he could so he wrote this as a tribute mentioning mentioning in his lyrics some of his other fake frets so here out here they are here are some of music's pioneers but time will not allow us to forget for there's basically Mila such my many Louis Armstrong written is named. So Louis Armstrong and the king of all Sergio and with a voice like Ehlers ringing out there's no way the band could lose so that subject composed and performed by Stevie Wonder from his $976.00 album Songs In The Key Of Life released as a single in 1977 It topped the US Billboard Hot 100 and black singles charts and reached number 2 in the U.K. Singles charts his joint biggest hit at the time let's take a listen it's fantastic so juke his tribute to juke Ellington Stevie Wonder. Just. Because. You. Know. Bring in that. Always a legend of his very own isn't a Stevie Wonder and such if a slice of Sol full today it's a chance now to get safety tips and hear about the career opportunities and basically have a good ol poke around nosey because fire stations across Norfolk getting ready today to open their doors to the public Hunstanton is leading the way they have got their wife and they today have been chatting to the development cream on into at Hunstanton vie station David collect and we'll have our own farm rescue services are in equipment will be on show but we've also this year opened up 2 other men she serves says so we do have local Our like education and shop coming along with the Coast Guard who will be doing water safety talks we've also invited our soft fire safety tame along to give their own talks in terms of what they can offer and also we've got Lily and Caroline from the park counseling exam was Norfolk coming for a stall to give advice on what they have to offer us for home care and safety toss so it's quite a bit of information to be available to Garcia that is fully fully packed isn't it when the fire service you guys deal with fire floods traffic collisions all sorts of really are people surprised how much the faucet is to yeah they don't people don't realize what we do until they actually need us so like you say we have such a variety of things we keep we can go to cut up a trait so literally as you say an R.T.C. Will approach traffic collision with multiple cars so it's so varied and it's a great job and why is it important that people see what you do well is to get the information out that what we do we're still available but also we're on call fossilised his stance and so we are recruiting and we are wanting people to come in and know and find more about this to ask questions to raise our prices to actually and sure that people are know what we're about and also if they're interested to come and ask. Question and find out more information really now will there be a water display with the hosts we are hoping to use one of the engines to be outside allow some of the children to play with the hose through jets as we have on the side of the pump but one of the one of the entertaining fact is what we're hoping to do is put a firefighter in a stock so someone may get where. You could be fun oh dear that sounds wonderful Well usually surprises people on days like these. I think it's kind of the equipment that we hold actually the very Tarski will attend the more we talk to people what we doing can do and some of our experiences people are surprised at the very droll that actually far miscue service actually provide today's like these 3 you really inspire the next generation of firefighters and girls boys a kid and adults mourning a change of career as well yeah absolutely we actually will have along with the 100 stunt and Cadet team they'll also put on a little display as well so it's actually not just for Uncle far far as we're also promotes in the cadets so from generation ages 13 homewards who are interested in the fire service can actually come along and actually start take provide none of Wednesday evening and actually get involved and do some of the tasks that we do as firefighters I mean for a lot of people being a firefighter would be quite a terrifying job you know the potential for risk is really really high but there must be some good parts about it what's the best thing for you is being available helping our local community he's been seen as we generally go into to buildings or we going it opposite direction to others we very safe you know very controlled but it's actually making a difference is actually what really makes a bus from a house a power and these days for you they really have favorites in the air getting people haven't really explaining to people. In hands on yeah it's really nice to meet people great people show what we do and then actually. See some of the children's reactions to what we actually do is quite amazing well avoid the stocks if you can day fits. Already on birth. Of a good one that sounds like a huge fun and I hope all goes very well for you thanks very much David Cleland there who's going to be there today stands our fire station open 10 till 3 if you can't do today then don't worry you can head over to hate him I've got another open day there for the Bank Holiday weekend check everything out on Facebook and all the usual sources online for some more information and any money that they raise from the raffle is going to go to help support injured fire what firefighters so they are the charity for them so a really good cause I'm going to ask those of questions and yeah have a fiddle about US House really great thank you so much to David for having a chat with us now we've got lots of what sounds coming in so keep coming in your guide to what zone and where you know folks will go through some now or shall we call a jumble sale a great massing in village green from 9 am all proceeds go to grass works I'm a long way between 10 and 12 there's another jumble sale at Davey place social club in Lawton some of fate at Del Rose Northfield Sonora tracing money for OWL visit to visit some of the residents there that's from 130 this afternoon you've also got the fate of Suffield cotton swabs starting 11 they got loads of bits and pieces they're all in aid of the beautiful gardens there thanks to Dennis for getting in touch with that also what we're doing what sounds and what's offs really aren't way so we've got the fun dog show in aid of the East Anglian air ambulance that's Tunstall playing field but that's tomorrow Sunday that's definitely going ahead as planned despite the weather what else have we caught on here morning. Crew Can you mention the run worth be a festival it's. Still on today from midday and with with music from hard rain this afternoon on hot cold ground tonight which is quite funny really. A very weather themed musicians who I like it thank you very much that's in from around with so that is still on if you're going to go out to the van with be a festival still on today from the day that we've been had a message from somebody saying that the hell's Sile is off if that is the case then you have to be a laugh that one in the house and not on today if you've got a what song or indeed a what's off for today because we've got really pounce weather happening way it's very windy got a yellow weather warning out for significant rain so do get in touch with us I was 803897321 is the number you have to call Alternatively you can text the program it's 3 Start your message with the word Norfolk all you can ping me in a manner it's dot bbc. Comes from to us hey yeah yeah let us know what song this weekend and what is all. A. Get. And you. It's a. Free. Download you. A. Few. Months out of the songs I will write a half a song for a happy morning here on B.B.C. Radio Norfolk if you're traveling here then everyone not to what we've got the very latest travel news coming up next Will East. B.B.C. Radio Norfolk travel the lovely Michael Page was nothing on Michael good morning and it's not looking too bad out there the main routes are all running very well educated to this time of the size of the morning however we do still have some work in Norwich at the Earl I'm 5 ways roundabout means Bluebell road trips line and Greenway remain closed and there are 10 pretty lights on. And also staying in a limo there are more temperate lights just the east of there between Konar been road and have locked road as well looking at the census I can see it is a little bit delayed building up just started to build up because of road works on Attleboro that's between great elling him and Attleboro on the trains we've got a fault on the train which is causing cancellations for services on great Anglia between nor H. And Great Yarmouth fare if you see anything or kind of like me call 803897321 I'm Michael Page for the B.B.C. Radio Norfolk travel Michael thank you. Was this time of year Karachi across North Africa some of fights unfair taking place but this one in particular has a bit of a French stadium about it well that's why. In the background and I actually walked up to the art walk up the aisle to this with an accordion player you know you wouldn't think it would be a talking affair so great Bircham French fare is back for its 9th year and Morley Webb has been there for us now our home was a weekend then here at the birch room we are in the porch way of Mary's Church and it's been that they've been raising money for the past 9 years with the French fairies you drive into birch and there's Bunting everywhere the red white and blue the trickle or is fluttering in the very strong breeze on top of the challenges laughing and what is the churchwardens bit breezy isn't. But we will go ahead we have activities in the church we have food and drink in the church we have contingency plans if it's too windy we have everything here for you we have crafts stalls we have calm we have after. So whatever when throws at us we still will go to the French team every year for the past 9 years it's a little bit of fun isn't it. I suppose if you think. So Death in Paradise you know it's a little bit of a tribute and and it's a way that everybody can enjoy so people who come can enjoy people who carry out the fair can enjoy it's a law Malcolm Sargent is the organizer Good morning. We are there and we've got the law forms big letters of yeah we're all ready for everybody to come the council the festival but we're still going so please come along this is strategically placed all that because you've got quite a lot of marquees here yeah we have got notions H.B.R. No small there's Evos outside so we were bringing everything we can into the church and into the large marquees in tents so. We're pretty safe we're on the sheltered side of thing yeah we're in the layer of the church anyway so in a good position and all this is to your new floor is it wise to lay low you floor and do other work in the church as well we need toilets maybe a limited amount of heating depending on what we can afford but we desperately need to do the floor so that we can actually use the church and the event is just for today just for today that's right you mustn't miss it what times start we start at 11 o'clock on through till 4 o'clock and come along get a nice overspill car park as well get plenty of parking. And the churchwarden dressed in his French uniform. It's a delightfully fake uniform. And I wish the chief of police I have toward myself a little bit of braid or this year of awarded myself a medal. Because I deserve it. OK I was just thinking it's been going for 9 years Malcolm And of course over the last few years it's perhaps you know a little controversial yes it would have to people I think in the village are not too keen on sort of showing the French flag but we think it's all worthwhile and as Ian said you know great fun for everybody a lot of people come when they're already down here as well and people come from all over north and south so we hope they'll make the journey today even though it is a bit rough Well this is it you've taken every precaution and everything is in place for a great day you say the church is crammed full of stuff as well so do come along and enjoy absolutely no political influence just come along and have a little bit of fun go away as every year with a smile on your face our hope Wally Webb comes back dressed as one of the British airmen with his mustache of course a stripey T. Shirt a big get and some breathe that would be nice and if you won in this well. Thank you as the time is 730 Let's get you up to date with the very latest B.B.C. Radio Norfolk news has closed Word and the Energy Watch Dog has demanded an urgent and detailed report from the National Grid after a major power cut calls travel chaos and disrupted electricity supplies for almost a 1000000 people in England and Wales off Jim says it wants to understand what went wrong yesterday evening and what further steps need to be taken including possible informant action and weather warnings in place for Norfolk with high winds expected with gusts exceeding 50 miles an hour predicted a number of events had to be cancelled and a warning has been issued to boaters on the broads to more up today a bus company says it is working with police to understand what led to a woman in her eighty's being killed in nor edge of 1st eastern counties bus hit the woman on Mary's name just before 10 o'clock on Thursday night she sadly died at the same a service is being held in Kings in today to remember the Norfolk men who died in the 1st World War act to liberate the Naval campaign was designed to knock turkey out of the conflict but lead to both sides suffering heavy losses of thousands of men the service starts at 230 this afternoon All Saints Church everyone is welcome B.B.C. Radio Norfolk news they'll be more at 8 thank you glad. B.B.C. Radio and thanks. Thanks well have 41 defeat against the euro fan champions at Liverpool yesterday our man Chris Core and was there and he's with us now a very good morning to express. Morning out of the off the night before absolutely Well I'm going to do that thing that people say it really was a game of 2 halves for knowledge wasn't there. It was yes you can argue with that I think it was. Not quite reality check because I think we all knew quite how difficult but the Premier League was going to be quite how big a step up it was going to be for these young City players. And particularly this game I mean even in the Premier League you don't come up against many teams who are as good as Liverpool's you quite rightly said the European champions it's only a few short months ago 4 months or so they were beating the great Barcelona 4 nil at Anfield sets and that's the sort of act to follow and they actually quitted themselves very well they just made some silly mistakes a bit of misfortune in the 1st half poor Grant Hanley the Norwich Captain scored an own goal after just 7 minutes slicing the ball off the outside of his foot and that that that unsettled Norwich that they they were 4 nil down by half time and I think a lot of Norwich fans were starting to fear the worst there the players tripped off at half time looking a bit rabbit in the headlights but I don't know what was said in the dressing room at half time but they came out with a lot more belief that they stuck to their task well and they managed to get a goal through 3 Pukki in the 2nd half so I actually I think most marriage fans who had a difficult journey getting to Anfield last last night with all the travel problems I think they left feeling quite proud of the team philosophical knowing that how you get on against Liverpool doesn't decide whether or not you stay in the Premier League that they'll have to have bigger matches in terms of realistic chances to get points in the weeks to come I think a lot of fans went there thinking Oh we know where we're going against Liverpool if we could pull it out the bag because Actually Liverpool perhaps don't know what to expect from a knowledge side off he went in the league last year so you never quite know what we're going to get but the 2nd half was really quite promising. It was and I think again what happens in every city last night in that 1st half was no disgrace at all that Liverpool and Manchester City are so good in the Premier League that they are even a cut above the rest of the big teams in the Premier League at Liverpool have now got a record for where they haven't lost any of their last 41 Premier League games at home so you know let's get this right he had Norwich pulled pull the wind out of the bag last night it would have been one of the great Premier League upsets of all time so I think it was always a tall order that knowledge would go there and win certainly I think what fans wanted and I think most of us thought we would lose last night and expected it I think we just wanted to leave Anfield with something to go teeth into some some happy memories that's certainly a goal and a sign that Nori city are going to compete in the Premier League and I think in the 2nd half we certainly got that actually that they had some good chances in the 1st half as well in between so that Liverpool's 1st couple of goals went when the stuffing really got knocked out of Norwich for a little while and there were some stats around last night that no it's actually many more shots at Anfield as an awaiting that than anybody else has since the start of last season in the Premier League so they did they did lay a glove on Liverpool Ultimately though they were just too good well it was interesting listening to your commentary last night because all seem to be going fairly well up to that 7 minutes 907 minutes isn't a long time and I get that but we we were really positive and start really strong but it is though that really unfortunate own goal really shook them and took them for 6 after that. Yeah I think it did especially with it being you know there was a lot of focus last night on how young players were would take to the Premier League you know Max our. Ben Godfrey they hadn't told Campbell as well they hadn't started league games for Norwich the Aarons and and Campbell hadn't even played in the league for a year ago and stormed through last season and became big 1st team players but they're very young and there was a bit of concern about you know they freeze How would they cope with the Premier League and actually it was the Captain Grant Hanley one of the more experienced players who had more trouble early on and he scored that unfortunate own goal. In the immediate aftermath actually Norrish kept going and created a couple of chances to equalise it was really the 2nd goal and then the 3rd which was a poor one to give away where they left Virgil van Dyke Liverpool's tallest player pretty much on Mark from a corner and he was able to score that those are that I think is the the frustration for Daniel Farka that there were a couple of the goals that were just too easy for Liverpool and certainly if you don't defend properly in in the Premier League games then he body you're not going to get away with it so yeah there were elements of frustration in the way the goals were given away but Liverpool were so relentless for spells in that 1st half you can understand why the city team did get carried away with it a little bit well I'm going to take a positive from it Chris because you know never pull the bass alone for nail and we got one can slip a poll so I think I think we can take take on another thing that yeah but you know I do think that maybe not the comparison with Barcelona that my question we're going to be actually there but I think the fact that Norwich got a goal last night that moment the fans were able to have that I think was significant because. Of the game and they're going to go to Cairo next Saturday when they play Newcastle in the 1st game without a point on the board yet in the Premier League and we thought that might happen I think the longer it goes on we have got a point and you haven't scored a goal it does start to become more and more of a. And so the fact that we had that moment where Teemu Pukki raced away and gone to a pass from Wendy A and scored the sort of goal that Norwich were scoring in a week after week in the Championship last season that just I think will give supporters and the players enough of a confidence boost to suggest that you know do all the things they did well last season and they will get points in the Premier League clearly they're not going to run away with this league and have the sort of points tally they managed in the championship but we saw enough last night to suggest that these players are not going to leave the league of they do end up going down this season it's not going to be with any regrets that they're going to give this everything and they won't play many teams who are as good as Liverpool so there are weeks where knowledge is best will be good enough to get points and that is going to make sure that that happens often enough they don't make the sloppy mistakes and they produce their best enough to get the points that will keep them in the top flight so yes certainly reasons for optimism despite a 41 defeat that they were applauded off by their visiting fans after the game and you know when a team is clapped off after losing 41 then I think that tells you a story I think it does I'm going to say what was the atmosphere like and heard it's obviously an incredible place to go for you personally back in the lake is it nice to go back to these these incredible stadiums Oh yeah of course it is I think I think for anybody who was lucky enough to be there last night fan or not you know Liverpool won the Champions League in June and this was their 1st home game since the 1st time really all of the fans have been together since they won their 60 Rypien title so they had a mosaics the posters the banners all prepared before the game it was a bit of a homecoming and a bit of a party for them last night and I think they all saw North City as just being a team that were there to make up the numbers and in the 1st half that that's the way it proved but I think this is this is why everybody got so excited last season winning the championship and and playing the way nourished it was great but I think the only reason that winning the championship feels so good is because you know what it leads to you get to go to places like this and you know Old Trafford and Tottenham's new ground and Arsenal we've got. It all to come there may be some more bruising afternoons that some more defeats along the way but I think if the players give it everything and put in the sort of effort they did last night I think the fans a realistic enough having been in the Premier League you know a fair amount over the last 5 or 6 years I think City supporters are realistic enough to know that there are going to be these defeats but I just could have to stay with the team and the Chess out and get on with it yeah absolutely Chris gone THANK YOU SO MUCH I'M SPECIAL quite tired this morning thanks for getting up early so. That was not another commentary later on after the walk slated for King I was now going to Hereford So more for more football later we will leave you some coffee . Thank you. And we're bringing you this story now it's really interesting this is something has been designed to help new parents living in rural communities and it could be coming to a village in near you so throughout all cost one of the County Councils mobile libraries is called an extra item and it's including a baby why a station so that parents can weigh their newborns right on their doorstep Rebecca Bradshaw is set is heading up the scheme force this morning this is a great idea what's it come about so it came about 2017 we had quite a few baby way stations sent through it quite a few quite recently went through some of our static libraries we got one sent to the libraries we didn't do very much with it just of other and then sort of early this year I was kind of like what can you do you kind of came up with the idea that actually it would be quite useful pop it out see what happens give it a try if it works then if it doesn't we haven't lost anything so you want to trial scale you know those buses I like to call line free buses are fantastic I've been out with a couple of the tell you and you go to so many places so well every mobile library get one of these fully So at the moment we try to narrow on one so just for August just given a go we've only got one station at the moment so if it works out my hope is that it will go All month we've got 6 mobiles at the moment over at the county and the hope is that if it works out and kind of the valuation goes well then it will be spread out across across all of our kind of mobile My boss is it's important because one of those things when it when as if and when you become a parent sometimes getting out and about coming in really really difficult actually quite overwhelming and if you see your mobile library out and about and you know what turns up it can be really help you know it's just it's quite nice the idea was to kind of go. I don't know what I'm doing I'm a bit scared OK I can go in there own Look there's someone else there. Made a bit of connection there in the same village as you it just builds a little bit of a community just the union one you don't know where that's going to lead everybody loves a fight and someone doesn't like poppy don't. You see a baby or a puppy or I can also love you and if one asks how long how you sleeping well you know yeah you like me don't look. Good in that bit of community support that's a really nice idea how far some families having to travel at the moment to get their papers why can't it just depends so we do have libraries in some villages as you got the main dish equipment on a market day and things like that there are children centers and children kind of. Kind of places like that the all over in villages as well so there are some the are having trouble too far if you have a car you can get about Obviously if you don't you little bit stop public transport so you are a live but a trans was a little bit difficult so if I didn't have a car bit stuck to my bond I would take that stress away that actually if the mobile I was there you don't have public transport access you just have to wait on the road yeah you know I'm going to is there someone on board who can help with the why there is one it's on we have a lovely drive a C. B. On board itself why in. The mobile app we drive a set up fee you have to do but you may be $1.00. Who really just fill them in the book and you're done really that's great isn't it and can sue or whoever's leaving office yes they can answer all the queries that yeah so if you want to find out about baby about some wrong we have these things called just a copper sessions to sort of just to help you get out and about if you want to meet a few people have a drink with a couple of people they'll know all about it you can go and also be able to tell you what's going on in a community as well so it's launched the beginning of this month yeah also response been like so far so far it's been a little bit slow because obviously it's not. Well you know I doubt that telling you about it you know you've got this great think he's going to try it and hopefully it will build up a little bit and we'll see yeah go and see the teams who work on the home of Obama everybody they are such characters. That they were making and yeah absolutely it's a really really important community asset I think that our county has got so it's a huge list of places that the fans will be visiting where can people go and for well I want to list them all out for ever words over here forever but what can people perhaps to find out the dates and locations yes so you can find it on our website so that's just on W.W.W. Dot north of DK and then just forward slash maybe libraries you can also find on the north a community directory and on the. If you look from there I'll just direct you straight on to other places as well but you can download the whole of the timetable on our website that's fabulous and well thank you so much for surviving the work with us here on Lucy write a note for us Rebecca Bradshaw telling us all about the the you know I can't decide maybe way station in the mobile libraries that you can get here so you look online for a bit more information now you may be traveling here there and everywhere about the county you want to know what's happening on the roads and while you are in luck.
