An Independence man is facing a couple of felonies in Cooper County following a traffic stop on March 9.
According to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a trooper stopped the vehicle after he observed there was no front license plate. The license plate that was on the rear of the vehicle was registered to a Chevrolet pick-up and not the Cadillac that the trooper had stopped.
After questioning the driver, the trooper approached the vehicle where he observed the passenger, Jeffrey Scott Harris, moving things in the console and it appeared as though he had put something in his pocket. The trooper instructed Harris to exit the vehicle.
