A Conservative election candidate has been suspended over online slurs about the police and boasts of taking drugs while a soldier in an elite unit that guards the Queen.
The Conservatives have launched a probe into Lloyd Widdup after his Twitter history also revealed a series of hardcore pornographic posts, along with images of him in uniform with the Grenadier Guards.
Mr Widdup, who is standing for election to Nottinghamshire County Council, shared a post referring to the police as 'bacon' and joked about them being 'pigs' in another.
He also boasted of being 'on a mephadrone high', of wanting a 'jazz fag' - a common synonym for cannabis - and of relieving his boredom by masturbating. It is understood some of the posts were made when he was aged under 18.
