Thunderstorm risk on the Prairies, but won't offer drought relief for most
Digital Writers
All Quiet on the Western Front may be the title of a novel, but it is very applicable to the current precipitation situation on the Prairies. The region is facing a growing drought problem that is considerably worse in some spots more than others. This is despite the fact May has favourable pattern that could bring some much-needed precipitation. However, there is some relief on the way this week, with a bit of rain and a risk of thunderstorms Tuesday for parts of the Prairies. The rainfall will be hit-and-miss and many areas won't see a drop. Those that do see rain, the totals won't be quite enough to bounce back from the deficit, however. More on how much rain is forecast and the thunderstorm threat creeping in for Tuesday, below.
