Apr 12, 2021 UP: To Williamstown City Council’s decision to create an animal control position, to build on work already being done by organizations such as the Save a Kitty Feral Cat program. Mayor Paul Jordan is right. “I think we can create a position not only with animal control, but also to fill a void we have never really filled,” he said. That should be a help to more than one city department, and another stepped toward improved quality of life in the community. *** UP: To organizations such as Artsbridge, which continue to adapt to the changes wrought by this pandemic. With its annual Arts Encounter program, area middle schoolers traditionally get a trip downtown to visit local arts organizations onsite. This year, the arts will come to the students, with presentations at Edison, Blennerhassett, Hamilton, VanDevender, Jackson and Belpre middle schools. The kids will get a pottery workshop, a theater workshop, and a session on choreography and dance performance.
