Three Cork food producers honoured at this years Irish Food Awards Tom Durcan was awarded the Food Award for his traditional spiced beef, while Kinsale Mead was given an Irish Drink Award for their Merlot Barrel Aged Mead. Online marketplace NeighbourFood was started in Cork by Jack Crotty and Martin Poucher in 2018 and is now available in 40 locations in Ireland and 20 in the UK. They were handed an Outstanding Organisation Award for their work. The Irish Food Writers Guild awards were established 27 years ago and celebrate the local producers and 'food heroes' who are committed to producing great food and drink.
