Placing four skiers in the top 10, the Warrior boys' alpine ski team won the Mesabi Invitational meet at Biwabik. “This was a huge win for our boys,” said coach Jim Ruttger. Kyle Goochey led with a third-place finish, followed by Stewart Sawdey, fifth; Tyler Rudek, sixth' and Scott Moen, ninth.

His 1989 NFL season wasn't up to Rohn Stark's usual high standards. But the Pine River High School graduate still finished fifth among NFL punters. This year Stark has regained his status as one of the game's best punters, kicking for the Indianapolis Colts, and he was named to the AFC team for the Pro Bowl, Feb. 3 in Hawaii.
