The current presidential campaign provides us with an opportunemoment to revisit our misconceptions and replace them with betterand more fully grounded ones, or, short of that, at least toresolve to be resolutely skeptical when we hear importantabstractions employed with imprecision, equivocation, andobscurity. We should demand that our leaders fill such abstractionswith actual content.
