Chance Charanza, of A.J. Briesemeister Middle School and Sweetness, cross gilt pig. (Marion) — Hundreds of kids started the process of showing off their projects during this year’s Guadalupe County Youth Livestock and Homemakers Show. The show kicked off Tuesday at the Country Church in Marion. It’s primary site for most categories. Swine projects are all being shown at the La Vernia Chamber of Commerce grounds. The kids are from 4H and FFA programs from all over Guadalupe County, and the kids have poured countless hours into making their projects the best that they can be. Organizers had to scramble to find a new location this year, because the Guadalupe County Fairgrounds in Seguin where closed by the city due to local COVID-19 restrictions. But the show is going on, thanks to the new venues in Marion and La Vernia. This year’s auction is also on the move. It will be held on Saturday at the Big Red Barn in Seguin.
