Getting enough COVID-19 vaccine allocation to Houstonians has been a daunting challenge for Harris County health officials.
Now, Texas will finally get a larger distribution of COVID-19 vaccines, increasing the weekly amount up 385,000 doses starting next week, according to the Texas Department of Health Services. That's 50,000 more doses than last week.
According to the Texas Department of State Health Services' Imelda Garcia, more than 2 million doses of vaccine have already been administered, with nearly 1.7 million receiving their first dose. Only 307,000 Texans have currently received both doses.
