Terrebonne Parish Council votes down attempt to restrict recreation districts A proposed measure that would have temporarily barred rec districts in Terrebonne from making large improvements to their parks was rejected by the Parish Council Wednesday night. The Council voted 6-3 against a proposed ordinance that sought to establish a moratorium on the purchase of immovable property by any recreation district until May 30. The proposed ordinance was introduced by council member Jessica Domangue at the last regular meeting in March to address the potential restructuring of the Terrebonne Parish recreation districts recommended by the Recreation Modernization Task Force. Domangue said during the meeting the proposed moratorium was designed to ensure the council can implement the recommendations if it chooses to without extra complications.
