Tenney was in Rome Tuesday to announce the new bill, called the Remembering Our Local Heroes Act. According to the congresswoman, the bill will establish a grant program to assist communities with the construction, restoration, or maintenance of memorials honoring veterans, active-duty military personnel, law enforcement, and firefighters. The grants are authorized for up to $100,000, and will be awarded to applicants who can secure matching funds from other sources.
