Tamboran beefs up board as it aims for growth Mar 9, 2021 – 12.00am Share US shale pioneer and new Tamboran Resources chairman Dick Stoneburner says early results from the IPO hopeful’s Northern Territory exploration play are “as good as any shale play I’ve seen” as he outlined big growth ambitions for the junior explorer. “I do think it has the potential to compare to the Marcellus in terms of performance,” Mr Stoneburner said of the quality of the shale in Tamboran’s acreage in the core Beetaloo Basin region about 600 kilometres south of Darwin. Santos’ Tanumbirini-1 well in the Northern Territory has raised hopes for a commercial gas project.
