Songkran, the Thai New Year celebration, is coming up April 13-15, and the Tourism Authority of Thailand invites Nashvillians to join them at a free special event featuring local chef Arnold Myint. Taking place on Thursday, April 8, from 7 to 8 p.m., Arnold will take viewers through an online cooking class to learn how to make Som Tum Thai (Thai papaya salad) and sticky rice as part of a celebration they’re calling Spring into Songkran Splendors.
If you’re a fan of Thai cuisine and culture or have thought about making a trip there, tune in for a celebration of Songkran traditions, including a brief education on the festival’s significance followed by Thai New Year blessings live from theBaan Rai Kong Khing withTrikaya Tours.
