View Comments Visitors to Birmingham's newest hotel will notice immediately a different feel when they walk into the lobby. The first thing guests see when they enter the Daxton Hotel is the artwork, the bar and the lounge. The front desk, tucked behind some glass toward the elevators, is almost an afterthought. The hotel's leadership says that's done by design. "When you come into the Daxton, immediately you're taken in with being a part of something," said Kelley Black, the director of lifestyle for the hotel. "As you come in, you definitely feel like it's social, there's something going on, that I've arrived into."
