Taiwan issues sea warning for Tropical Storm Choi-Wan

Taipei, June 3 (CNA) A sea warning was issued Thursday afternoon for Tropical Storm Choi-Wan, as it moves closer to Taiwan, the Central Weather Bureau (CWB) said.
As of 2 p.m. Thursday, Choi-Wan was located about 550 kilometers south-southwest of Taiwan, moving northeast at a speed of 19 kilometers per hour, according to the CWB.
The tropical storm has a radius of 80 km and is packing maximum sustained winds of 65 kph and gusts of up to 90 kph, CWB data shows.
The weather bureau said that a sea warning was issued for Taiwan at 4 p.m., with Choi-Wan weakening slower than expected as it moves closer to Pingtung County on the Hengchun Peninsula in the south of the country.
