The Sydney removalists who brought the Delta strain of COVID-19 into Victoria and sparked a state-wide lockdown will not be charged for any breaches of health orders. The Department of Health's compliance and enforcement team yesterday completed its investigation into the three removalists, probing whether they had breached the Public Health and Wellbeing Act and the Chief Health Officer's directions. The department found the removalists entered Victoria on a valid permit - the Specified Worker (Low Workplace Interaction) permit - which is designed for commercial freight workers.
