The atmosphere of the building was a crucial part of the construction for Jen Callison, director of women and children’s services for the hospital. Callison wants patients to feel welcomed and comfortable in the new building. She said materials and colors were carefully chosen to help achieve that experience. "Our goal would be to have them walk into an environment that they feel immediately welcomed," Callison said. "Also, there can be positivity to feel uplifted and have the color brighten their day." The new technology integrated into the building is intended to make it more efficient for staff and patients alike. A two-person scrub sink is featured in the entrance of the building, along with more scrub stations throughout for visitors to keep their hands clean. In addition, the hospital is introducing an ultraviolet light station where individuals can have their keys and phone isanitized quickly.
