A giant goose that has been flying over the town of Sumner, Missouri, for nearly 50 years will soar again thanks to a five-year fundraising effort to restore it.
"It's pretty amazing, " said Gov. Mike Parson. "And really to know the history of how it got here and the artist behind his motivation to do it."Sign up for our Newsletters
The governor made a stop in Sumner, Missouri Monday to see the world's largest 40-foot goose, named Maxie.
He said structures like this one are important to save and important to smaller communities.
