MINSK, 30 December (BelTA) – Over 60 trains were delayed due to bad weather on 29-30 December, BelTA learned from the press service of Belarusian Railways.
A red warning was issued in Belarus for 29-30 December. The bad weather affected Vitebsk Oblast, Mogilev Oblast and part of Minsk Oblast. Strong winds and icing on power lines and trees caused them to fall on railway tracks and led to disconnection of power lines in some areas. The total length of the affected tracks was 486 km.
“There were no interruptions in the train service. No injuries or damage to the rolling stock were reported. At the same time, 64 passenger trains were delayed. The delay was from 10 minutes to 2 hours,” the press service said.
