Perth is waking up to a commuter headache after stormy weather overnight uprooted trees, caused flash flooding and cut power to thousands of households, mainly in the southern suburbs.
The Department of Fire and Emergency Services attended almost 180 calls for help since midday on Monday, with more damaging winds and localised flooding expected to continue on Tuesday morning.

Most of the calls were made from the southern suburbs including Rockingham, Mandurah, Byford, Success, Spearwood and Gosnells but also parts of the South West. Most requests were to assist with flooding, water and roof damage.
