State legislation could provide money for aging jails
Justice Center was cited with 54 violations during a 2019 jail inspection
COSHOCTON - Coshocton County Sheriff James Crawford strongly supports state legislation that would set money aside for jail construction, operation and maintenance. 
A press conference was held Feb. 16 with Republican Rep. Jay Edwards of Nelsonville and Jason Stephens of Kitts Hill in conjunction with members of the Buckeye State Sheriff's Association (BSSA) to announce the introduction of House Bill 101. Various individuals last week provided testimony on the need for the bill to the Ohio House Infrastructure and Rural Development Committee. This included Guernsey County Commissioner Dave Wilson.
