St James men fined $700,000 for lotto scamming-related offences


Two St James men who pleaded guilty to lottery scamming-related charges were fined a total of $700,000 and given non-custodial sentences earlier this month.
Omar Holmes and Errol Wright, both of Lilliput, St James, pleaded guilty to the offence of possession of identity information last month, according to a release from the Major Organised Crime and Anti-Corruption Agency (MOCA).
Both men were sentenced on February 2 when they appeared in the St James Circuit Court.
Holmes was ordered to pay a fine of $300,000, with an alternative of three years in prison.
Additionally, he was sentenced to four years in prison, suspended for three years with supervision.
