Min In the seventh episode of High Noon, Inez Stepman speaks with Spencer Klavan. Klavan is the associate editor of the Claremont Review of Books and the Claremont Institute’s online publication, The American Mind. He’s also the author of an academic publication, Music in Ancient Greece, as well as a translation of the Book of Isaiah. Klavan hosts a popular podcast, Young Heretics, where he explores, through the lens of the Western canon, “truth, beauty, and the stuff that matters.” Stepman and Klavan discuss why the Western classics have fallen out of favor in the academy, America’s relationship to Western civilization at large, and what the canon has to teach us about our modern crises.
