SP workers accuse police, administration of 'harassing' party leaders | Allahabad News

Prayagraj: Leaders of the Samajwadi Party (SP) on Friday accused local police and administration of harassing the party candidates, their proposers and supporters and forcing them to roll back their nominations.
A delegation of party leaders and workers also met with the election observer and demanded free and fair block pramukh polls in the 23 blocks of the district.
SP district president Yogesh Chandra Yadav alleged, "BJP men have forcibly occupied the certificates of the majority of kshetra panchayat members and these panchayat members are being forced to vote in favour of BJP candidates."
He further demanded that the Election Commission (EC) must allow the Aadhaar card as an alternative for kshetra panchayat members for identification for free and fair polls. They said that panchayat members should be allowed to cast their vote after showing their Aadhaar card.
