Students on the South Shore interested in pursuing a health care career can apply for a bursary of up to $7,500 dollars. The South Shore Bursary Program is offering the opportunity to high school, college and university students residing in Lunenburg and Queens County. Arleen Stevens, Executive Director for the Health Services Foundation of the South Shore said it’s a great way to make students consider staying in the area for work. “It’s important to continue to have our young people think about working within our medical fields and working close to home,” said Stevens. She said the bursary is for students going into all aspects of the medical field including nurses and lab techs.
