A man who did not self-isolate properly after travelling from Romania has been given a hefty fine. Lincan Dan Ionut travelled from Romania to England last year and under coronavirus rules was required to self-isolate at his address in Fairfield Avenue in South Oxhey. This is because Romania is outside the common travel area and people coming to England from such countries have to self-isolate under the Health Protection (Coronavirus, International Travel) (England) Regulations 2020. But Ionut, 39, had been outside his address on September 22 - when he was still required to self-isolate - without reasonable excuse, St Albans Magistrates’ Court heard.
