With the first few flakes forecast for 2021 falling over the weekend, it seems likely that more snow will soon land in South Africa. We saw the dusting of mountain tops and high-peaks in the last 48 hours, but a more substantial covering is expected by Friday – and it may no longer be confined to just the Eastern Cape and Lesotho.

An updated forecast from Ventusky shows that the snow flurries could now spill into both Free State AND KwaZulu-Natal. Of course, predicting when the white stuff will land is one of the toughest tasks in meteorology – and the picture is subject to change at any moment. But, as we stand on Monday afternoon, the outlook is promising for snow chasers.
