Smart ambition, dumb execution
The
Central Business District is undergoing a makeover under the
smart city project. As a result, the roads in the area are in a sorry state and Lavelle Road is no exception to this.
The makeover is going on at a slow pace. As a result, motorists and those staying or working in the area are having a
tough time. Mohan Kumar, a motorist who regularly travels on this
stretch said, “There is no distinction between a road and dirt track and it is extremely tough for the bikers to negotiate the stretch.”
Another commuter Navya S, said, “The road has become narrow as the footpath is being widened and vehicles are being parked on one side of the road. So, we really need to be careful while driving as you don’t know when you will have a fall.
