A 16-year-old from Purmerend was arrested on Tuesday for the fatal shooting in the town, the police reported on Wednesday. The suspect is currently in custody and is only allowed contact with his lawyer. The police received a report at 8:05 p.m. on Monday of a shooting near the train station in Purmerend near the Stationsweg. A 19-year-old man from the Noord-Holland municipality was killed, with another man who was also 19 from Medemblik heavily wounded. He is currently in the hospital, according to the police.
