She lost 3 loves ones to COVID-19. Now this Black pastor is on the front lines Connecticut’s vaccination effort.

The Rev. Brenda Barnes is the senior pastor of Faith Gospel Assembly Church in Bridgeport. She lost her father and her uncle to COVID-19 in January and has since become involved in the effort to encourage Black residents of Bridgeport to get vaccinated.
Her aunt was the first to fall ill with the coronavirus, dying in a nursing home during those chaotic early days of the pandemic.
