city hall including city departments, commissions, and including this board president see. supervisor yee has proven to be a true advocate and one who always comes through for our community year after year. he defence at risk low-income programs for our most vulnerable , and we hope that this board will elect him as the next board president. >> thank you for your comments. >> i'm coming to support supervisor yee. he is a great leader and has been for the past 20 years that i have known him. thank you. >> thank you for your comments. next speaker, please. >> hi, everyone. my name is breanna gonzalez. i'm here to advocate for supervisor ronen to be the next board president. she has always been a very inspirational person to me into many others. she is a courageous, courageous, caring and empathetic leader. one of the reasons why have so much admiration for her is a fact she is a fighter. she will fight tooth and nail to defend marginalized communities. you all know her, you have all witnessed her push and push and push for her residents in d9 and the city. you all know she is passionate, dedicated, extremely intelligent , and is consistently coming up with creative solutions to our city's problems she does not back down, and she will not do -- she will do everything in her power to give a voice to the voiceless. tell me, are both the qualities you would want in a board president? there is now a progressive majority, that i wholeheartedly believe that supervisor ronen is the best person to lead this board to create new and exciting progressive policies. you all have the pot -- the power to change a landscape of san francisco, and with hilary ronen as your president, you can make san francisco whole again, because right now, it is only a skeleton of what it once was. but what is even more amazing is that you all have the power to not only change san francisco, but the rest of the country as well. many people in power -- and due to the current state of our country, we need people in power who will, as we like to chant in march is, stand up and fight back, and hilary ronen is that person. and her two years as being a supervisor, she has shown time and time again how effective she is, how she gets things done, and how she fights until the very end and isn't afraid to get her hands dirty and do the dirt work. i really -- i strongly urge you to choose hilary ronen as your board president. thank you. >> thank you for your comments. next speaker, please. >> hi, everyone. my name is maja, and i wanted to personally congratulate rafael mandelman, as supervisor, and supervisor matt haney. i'm really excited to see what you guys do. i am a district waffle resident, and i am here to support supervisor hilary ronen for board president. i had the pleasure of working in her office, and i just saw firsthand how she is willing to fight everyone that has stood up here, they could not have said it better. i didn't really have a speech planned and i did not even plan on doing this, but i would regret it later. i'm here to strongly urge all of you to please, please, please, listen because it is pretty loud and clear who the community wants as board president, and thank you so much. >> thank you for your comments. next speaker, please. i will ask that the audience hold their applause until after the board president has been elected. we will get through this quicker next speaker, please. >> it afternoon. my name is lana, i may san francisco native. i am born and raised in the mission district, and i am fortunate enough to still live in mission district. i work in the community. we have an afterschool program. supervisor ronen has supported us through many, many years when she was working with other supervisors. >> please hold the microphone closer to your face. >> i am a native of san francisco, mission resident, born and raised, fortunate enough to still be there. i'm here to voice my support for supervisor ronen. i think she is a wonderful person, and a wonderful supervisor, and i think she will make a great board president for the city and county of san francisco. thank you. >> thank you for your comments. next speaker, please. >> hello, my name is patricia. >> please pull the microphone close. thank you. >> okay. it doesn't want to come down. thank you. my name is patricia hernandez, and i am a native of san franciscan -- of san francisco. i was born and raised in the mission district, and i'm here to support hilary ronen, and i also work at the afterschool mission education project inc., please, please, she has done so much, she is warm, she really does care about our community. please, i am advocating for her to be the president of the board of supervisors. thank you. >> thank you for your comments. next speaker, please. >> hello, my name is mckenzie. some of you may recognize me. i worked from rafael mandelman and matt haney on their incredible campaigns. i'm here to support hilary ronen for president of the boards. i saw her come out really hard for these guys in their campaigns, and i have seen her fight for the district that i live in, district nine, and being a newcomer to san francisco, i have been here for almost two years now, i was excited to come to a city that was progressive, and doing all the right things, but i do see a lot of infighting and splits within the democratic party here , and i think it's time that somebody with a bold and strong progressive voices voice is on the board. thank you. >> thank you for your comments. next speaker, please. >> hi, my name is sonya, i live in district six. congratulations to the progressives are having a super majority on the board of supervisors. what this means is if homelessness is not ended in the next two years, it is no one's fault but this board. the funders of american cities have been able to end street homelessness in their own cities , which means the power exists at the municipal level to end street homelessness, and if this board can't get it done in two years, them that will be a huge failure. i know that it is something that is a priority for progressives, and it is a priority for me, and for people who live in district six. the path to ending street homelessness is to prioritize spending on shelter, and housing , and mental health, and the kind of programs that help people get their way out of homelessness, and prevented in the first place. this is something that i will ask you to do every day, wake up and ask yourself, in my decisions today, have i prioritized the thing that is the biggest issue for san franciscan his? every two years, the controller does a study where they ask san franciscan his, are the biggest issues, the number 1 issue is housing affordability, the number 2 issue was homelessness. those are both the same issue. i know it is a priority. please make it a priority when you decide how to spend the hundred and $81 million soap -- surplus. i know that when i was running, when i talk to people, over and over, that was the number 1 thing that people asked about, why do we have this terrible problem, and i honestly couldn't give them a straight answer. i don't know why the city hasn't been able to get it together to fix it but now you guys have a super majority, and i trust that you will be able to get it done. thank you. >> thank you for your comments. next speaker, please. >> good afternoon. i'm the executive director of the dolores community service is i'm here on behalf of our organization, and the communities we serve to ask that the board of supervisors support hilary ronen as president of the board. our city deserves a proven leader who is committed to addressing the pressing social problems that our city faces. i have had the opportunity to work at the family shelter and innovative and responsive solutions to the families at the school who are facing homelessness. the school of family shelter was tapping -- championed by hilary. she is a leader in the criminal justice reform, she is a leader in criminal justice reform, a labor rights advocate, and an ally to the lgbtq community. we are grateful to have a relentless immigrant rights advocate who we know will ensure that san francisco remains a sanctuary city. hilary has earned the opportunity to serve as president of the board of supervisors because of her impeccable leadership, hard work , and innovative solutions. we need her leadership now more than ever. thank you. >> thank you for your comments. next speaker, please. >> it afternoon, everyone, my name is anna herrera. and codirector of the deportation defence program at the community services. i am here to provide my support for hilary ronen as president of the board. i have worked with supervisor ronen for almost seven years. first when she was chief of staff for a supervisor, and now as district nine supervisor, and hilary has been an incredible leader and ally of the immigrant community in san francisco. back when we had a real crisis at the border of unaccompanied children and families in 2014, it was hilary's idea that san francisco should be one of the first cities to provide a legal representation for unaccompanied children and families in our city, and since that time, she has continued advocating for more services, and more services for immigrant community and our leaders in san francisco. in this time of attacks against immigrant communities, we will hear more of it tonight, there is no one more fit to lead as the president of our board that supervisor ronen. thank you. >> thank you for your comments. next speaker, please. >> good afternoon. thank you for letting me speak. my name is tom, i'm a resident of san francisco, and for the last four years, i have been the president of the greater west portal neighborhood association. i'm not here to speak against anyone whose name has been put forward, but i'm here to speak in favor of someone that i have had the chance to work with directly, and that is supervisor norman yee. it seems incredible to me that with san francisco voting so strongly in favor of one outlook on how the city should be, that at the same time, we having such infighting about it. what we are looking for right now is leadership. leadership that will solve problems, and leadership that will bring people together. i have watched norman yee solve problems, fight for what he believes in in our district and across the city, bring people together, he does it quietly, he doesn't do a lot of shouting, but if you define success as getting the most done when no one really cares about who gets credit, i think that is norman yee. i think it might be time for us to have a client leadership which leads through service to get the best kind of leadership. that is why i would add my voice to those who are asking they consider normandy and vote for him as board president. thank you. >> thank you for your comments. next speaker, please. [speaking foreign language] >> we are here to support norman yee. he has been dedicated to support families in the city. we are thankful for his leadership, and most important of all, he puts his heart into this community. so we support norman yee. >> thank you for your comments. >> high, we serve families who are dealing with extreme poverty , but we are able to provide child development services, not just of the families, but also to the entire household, and with the support from norman yee, we would not be able -- we would be able to continue to do this. not only are we championing the child, we are championing the entire family. >> thank you for your comments. next speaker, please. >> good afternoon, supervisors. my name is mullane, and i am here to voice my support for supervisor ronen for president of the board of supervisors. supervisor ronen is someone with whom i've had the pleasure of working in my capacity as a woman's rights advocate. i'm a resident of district five in san francisco, and i advocate for women's policy issues in the city. supervisor ronen is incredibly intelligent, compassionate, and a remarkable leader. i admire her, and i am so very disappointed to hear some of the criticism of supervisor ronen, which i personally find to be very sexist, and i hope that the board makes the decision based on her record of supporting the communities of san francisco that really are the most vulnerable in the city. our immigrant communities, the lgbtq communities, and our victims of sexual violence. i want to remind the board of the incredible work that she did this year of leading the unanimous vote of the sharp ordinance, which will protect -- i hear that, and i just want to say thank you, and that this ordinance will protect women and others that are at risk and thank you. [please stand by] not only did she believe me, but we shared our passion with the board of supervisors about the lack of accountability within these departments. as a result, sharp was created. i believe that real change comes from folks who not only work hard, but who are vulnerable, empathetic, show compassion and see humanity. hillary is always out on the streets and she shows up for people. she doesn't stay, like, comfortable in her cushy office. she is out on the street with her daughter, like, marching and shows up in her district when something is going on and meets with families. so, i feel that a people's revolution and connecting with the people that represent is really important and i felt that. when i went to the city departments for help and they didn't treat me like a person. so, that is why i'm here to speak in support of hillary. thank you. >> thank you for your comments. next speaker, please. >> good afternoon. my name is taylor hernandez. i'm a city college of san francisco student. i'm a freshman, actually. and i'm here for support on ms. hillary ronan because i currently work for mission education projects inc.. we're located in 24th and mission and i've been working there seance freshman in high school and she's continually supported our mission of educating students and making sure they're not on the streets doing what they're supposed to do and i just want to put my word in support of her. thank you. >> thank you for your comments. >> good afternoon. my name is asia hernandez. i'm currently a first year at u.c. berkeley and also in favor of hillary ronan. she is also -- she's also been a strong supporter of mission education projects incorporated and i think it is very important to speak on behalf of the community she shows and her support because coming as a minority to a prestigious school, it is hard to come to that place when you are surrounded by all these difficulties and having a place like mission education projects incorporated, it makes it possible for kids who don't have those same opportunities as others and she, as a supporter, has shown that she's strong with her community and that's why we continue to support her. thank you very much. >> thank you for your comments. next speaker, please. >> good afternoon, and congratulations, new supervisors. my name is gabriel medina. i'm the co--pac chair for san francisco latino democratic cluck and latino democratic caucus and i'm here to speak in support of supervisor hillary ronan for board president. as many know, hillary's been a long-time champion for the latino community since before she even worked for the board of supervisors. and currently, as you know, there is no latino on the board of supervisors and hillary was elected largely from the latino community's support and we heard and you are going to continue to hear today support from our community about wanting to make sure that our issues are at the forefront. the forefront of displacement. the forefront of the crisis with president number 45. so, if you really want to value our issues and make sure our voices are heard, even though we're not necessarily present, we want to make sure that we have a strong alliship here on the board of supervisors. that is why i would encourage you to please support hillary ronan for board president today. thank you. >> thank you for your comments. next speaker, please. >> hi. my name is jack rice and i'm here as a district nine resident who works at the coalition on homelessness in district six. congratulations to all the new board members. i work at a nonprofit that organizations within and advocates for the city's poor and homeless and involved in a city and statewide fight for housing justice. the so-called two aspirational, speaks to her tireless work, passion and emotional engagement, those at tributes that put her front and center at every rally, at every town hall, advocating for our most vulnerable communities, listening, collaborating, up lifting, getting things done, where so me lektsed officials in san francisco don't dare to fred and don't dare to speak. today electing a board president should be an easy decision for all of you in this room. thank you. >> thank you for your comments. next speaker, please. >> good afternoon. my name is rosanna rojas. hillary has been collaborate rating with us for many years before she was a supervisor. she attends every one of the crisis emergencis that we attempt to respond to when she goes and meets each of the families when they're going through the worst moments and the meeting is not just oh, hi, it's a supervisor, but it's a true meeting of the people and really understanding what the families are going through and providing what they need and giving us the community workers. the support and the resources necessary to be able to respond to the crisis. besides the fact that she has the track record that she has, we have an opportunity to elect a progressive woman as the president of the supervisors board. right now the congress just appointed a number of strong, progressive women. we are in a progressive city. it only means that we are the ones that elect the progressive board of supervisors president. so i hope that you do the right thing and that you elect her president. thank you. >> thank you for your comment. next speaker, please. >> good afternoon, supervisors. my name is mena parks. i've come here today in support of hillary ronan for board president. in my experience working on progressive issues here in san francisco, like police accountability, resources for after school programming, affordable housing and the most recently cannabis and social equity. supervisor ronan and her office have been engaged, courageous, passionate and effective in being a representive for the voice of the people. and as many people who have already expressed, supervisor ronan doesn't wait for you to walk into her office to express concerns. she comes out to the community and asks us what we think and inquires about how the issues affect us and that is the time of leadership that we need. we need active -- an active leadership that has a relationship with a diversity of our city. as well as being courageous enough to attack the issues that threaten the humanity and creativity of our city. so i ask that you guys vote for hillary ronan. thank you. >> thank you for your comments. next speaker, please. >> hello, everyone. i'm the executive director of brava theater center and brava for women in the arts and a resident of bayview for the last 20 years and i fully support hillary ronan for board president. i've known hillary for the past eight years and she is an arts supervisor. she believes that arts is part of the solutions to our city's challenges. she understands what the arts landscape and cultural landscape means to the citizens. and especially in the mission and the challenges we face in the mission district. she is thoughtful. she is kind. she is passionate. she is present. and she will make an outstanding president. she is fair. you may not agree with her method or her process, but she is very fair and she cares so much about all the residents of san francisco. and that we build a fair and socially just community. thank you. >> thank you for your comments. next speaker, please. >> hi, is it good morning? sorry. i don't know what time of day it is. and i -- my name is guynor and i'm born and raised in the mission. native of san francisco. you know -- people that know me i like to say that a lot because we're rare. right? whatever. i'm here in support of hillary ronan for president of the board. there's not so much i can say about her that 50 million people came up before me to say except i definitely validate everyone's feelings and compassion because that is what she shared with us in our community. the biggest things for me being a community activist and advocate is, you know, seeing true folks that we vote for don't forget what they're representing or where they come from. at tend of the day, what i appreciate of hillary is that i can call her to a meeting in the hood and she actually come to the 'hood which a lot of people don't because rats run around and roaches but she doesn't care. about none of that. cares about us as people. she kairs about what affects us, what impacts us and then she fights with all of her might to assure that things will be better. and that is why i support her. she's always supported me. we worked together for, oh, my gosh, forever. so -- and congratulations to everyone that was sworn in today. i'm looking to ward to a great year. thank you. >> thank you for your comments. next speaker, please. >> good afternoon. jane martin from usww. congratulations to everyone who was sworn in. i'm very excited about this board and i know this has been a difficult process. but for the low-income people of color that we represent, there is a lot at stake right now in san francisco and what's most important for our members and our union is that we have professionive majorities on the budget and the land use and the rules committee and i hope that comes out of this process. we're standing with the rest of labor in supporting hillary ronan because she has been a champion for our members and all low-income workers of color for a long time. we hope that you support her today. thank you. >> thank you for your comments. next speaker, please. >> buenos dias. [speaking in spanish]. >> interpreter: hello. it is a big honor for me to be here today, deit into the rain. i couldn't not be here today to support this great lawyer, this great activist. >> [speaking in spanish]. >> interpreter: and who better than her to represent this board of supervisors? >> [speaking in spanish]. >> i've been working in the community for 17 years. >> [speaking in spanish]. and i've seen the tireless work and labor of hillary ronan. >> [speaking in spanish]. >> interpreter: from working with those who have the least like day laborers -- >> [speaking in spanish]. trep taupe >> interpreter: to the rest of the population who's a lot easier to work for. >> [speaking in spanish]. >> interpreter: she's got the grace to let herself be loved by kids with down syndrome. and enough love to support them. even with her own personal time. >> [speaking in spanish]. >> interpreter: and if jesus was still alive, he was a young man with cancer, he would be here with me. he would be here supporting hillary. and this is a big task and a big challenge but i know she can step up to that task, that it's very important. >> [speaking in spanish]. >> interpreter: [speaking in spanish]. [laughter] >> interpreter: this board must count on hillary. >> [speaking in spanish]. >> interpreter: to confront this very inhumane challenge we have in the city. >> [speaking in spanish]. >> interpreter: and that are affecting everybody even though we don't want to recognize it. >> [speaking in spanish]. >> interpreter: because it is such a strong woman in the forefront. >> [speaking in spanish]. >> next speaker, please. >> good morning to everybody. >> [speaking in spanish]. >> >> interpreter: i'm here representing the support of hillary ronan for those of you who can vote for her. >> [speaking in spanish]. >> interpreter: because immigrants and people in the street need support that's it. >> thank you. >> thank you for your comments. next speaker, please? >> hi. good afternoon. my name is leticia. i'm a resident in engelside and a community organizer. i'm here today to show my support for hillary ronan as president for board of supervisors. i believe that hillary ronan is the best person for this role. she has been atentive and responsive to the need of san francis cans and has the experience to lead. given her experience at city hall and in the community. she has taken action in addressing the homelessness and having crisis by supporting and being an advocate for strong protections. opening and advocating for navigation centers, supporting the building of affordable housing in her district, which is frankly something we need across the city of san francisco. and i believe that we must -- you all must elect and vote for hillary ronan. if we hope to do something radically different and pave the way towards a more just and equitable san francisco. i urge you today to please vote for hillary ronan for president of the board of supervisors. thank you. >> thank you for your comments. next speaker, please. >> my name is mari, i'm a district nine resident and i first wanted to send you all a congratulations to all the people who just got sworn in today. big ups. each one of you on some level with my very limited time, i workd on your campaigns whether it was doing social media, dropping lit or whatever. i'm proud that all of you are now board of supervisors. next i want to say a person i'm really proud of who got elected this year is alexandria cortez. if you know anything about me, i follow her i.g. about everything. i send her messages daily to instagram stories that she posts. she is an amazing, amazing, refreshing person. she reminds me why i first started coming here to city hall. i've been shaken up here in city hall for 20 years and started as a youth commissioner. coming here and i just realized today, dang it has been 20 years. i'm not even 40! [laughter] with alexandria cortez being brand-new and everything like that, we had a major vote and naturally the speaker of the house. right? now i just wanted to throw it out the you all for you to think about this. if alexandria cortez said they wanted to be the speaker of the house on their very first day, what would be your response? i'm going to tell you right now. i'm not the biggest nancy pelosi fan. i don't follow her i.g. and i don't follow her twitter -- [laughter] and i didn't agree with her war in iraq vote, either. but who has more experience? so i want to say today you all have different votes, how you're going to vote. but i want you to really look at who has experience. there is lots of different people. norman has huge child care champion stuff. sammy does great work shaking it up. but there is only one and i'll tell you who i would vote for, i'll vote for hillary ronan and the reason is because she was the only no vote on not sharing [inaudible] town heritage day that stephanie you did not include the native american voice within italian heritage day and she stuck to her guns and that's what you need to be board president. someone who sticks to their guns to stand up in this community. >> thank you. thank you for your comments. next speaker, please. >> hello, everybody. my name is dia sellby and i'm a public official myself and a woman. i am with board of trustees at city college. i'm five for five. i supported five absolutely fabulous candidates for supervisor and all five were elected and i'm thrilled about that. i'm really excited about the direction that this board is going to go. i just have a few things to say. and one of them is to ask you to look at how hillary has brought people out from all walks of life and to think about how, with your support, she can do that for the board. when she needs to. one of my concerns with government in general is transparency. and surely hillary going out to the public to openly and honestly state her interest in being at the head of the stable a good thing, not a bad thing. finally, there are three, as you all know, districts that require a lot of resources, and i'm taking this directly from when hillary came out to talk to us at manny's. there's district six. there's district nine. and there's district 10. and i want you to think about how important it is that we have a president of the board of supervisors who can understand the importance of giving the resources to the city. it affects all of us. i'm in district five. it affects all of us in every district. we have to take care of the issues in six and 10 and nine. finally i want to talk about being president. i'm looking at a former president of the board of trustees. i, too, was president of the board of trustees at city college and i want to tell you that being president changes you. you do not behave the same way. you cannot behave the same way you do as an individual, whatever it might be. trustee, supervisor, whatever. so, if you think that hillary ronan is not going to be able to come and coalesce you all -- >> thank you for your comments. thank you for your comments. next speaker, please. >> i'm blaine bookie and i'm a resident of the district eight and work here at the u.c. hastings center for gender and refugee studies and i'm here to support hillary ronan for board president. i know that she will look out for my family as well as the immigrant families that i work for tirelessly every day and i think we've seen the bold -- what ah bold and what hillary brings us with authentic leadership. we've seen that across the country and i would be a serious shame to miss having that here in ours own city of san francisco. i urge you to vote for hillary ronan for board president. thank you. >> thank you for your comments. next speaker, please. >> good afternoon, board. i'm curtis bradford and i'm the chair of the tender loin people's congress, coalition of 14 resident organizations, representing hundreds of tender loin residents. first of all, i'd like to say congratulationss to all the folks who were sworn in today. it's really awesome to see you. but matt, it is really greet see you sitting behind the desk seated at the board. that is fantastic. i'm really excited. i'm here today to talk about hillary ronan. she is the right choice. i think she is the right choice for the right time. folks have turned out from all over the city, all the districts are represented in this group that you are hearing from today and they all came to tell you one thing. this is what the city's choice, the people's choice for president of the board of supervisors is being made abundantly clear to you today. nobody reached out to me from hillary's office. i haven't talked to anybody from the campaign. nobody advocated for me to speak on her behalf. i'm here because this is what we wanted as residents. we talked about what we thought would be the best choice and this was our choice and that is why i'm here today to speak on behalf of her. and lastly, i just want to say hals that i have to take this opportunity as a tender loin resident to advocate for my neighborhood. all the challenges that are currently facing san francisco as a hole, they're manifest 10 times in the tender loin and if you are going to treat the problem and solve any of san francisco's problems, if you are going to make a healthy san francisco, you have to start in the tender loin, the heart of the city. and until you address the issues in our neighborhood, you're just wasting your time treating the symptoms without looking at the wound. thank you. >> thank you for your comments. next speaker, plea. [applause] >> good afternoon. my ?aim larissa with united to save the mission and i am here to talk about hillary ronan's exceptional leadership. as a resident and business owner in the mission, i have watched supervisor ronan work with our community, other supervisors, the mayor and other communitis to create and move legislation forward that will make living in the city better for all residents. but especially those that are most vulnerable and often ignored. time and again, i have watched supervisor ronan in the community making great efforts to make sure that the voices of the vulnerable were heard, even though the voices of power and privilege were louder and trying to dominate the discourse. and i have seen her strong negotiation skills put to work to bring eke quity to our city, getting $10 million from the state to create navigation center, passing legislation to protect our cultural districts and fight gentrification and passing throwsing assist survivors of sexual harassment and assault. this is exactly the skillsthaet we need today and our city needs hillary ronan as board president. thank you. >> thank you for your comments. next speaker, please. >> good afternoon. my name is carlos and i work as a housing immigration attorney for mission neighborhood centers and for various collaboratives among them. u.s.m. and 3sf. answer -- and i've come to talk in support of hillary ronan because right now we find ourselves in a tenuous time in our nation's history. now more than ever disenfranchised and marginalized communities from all across s.f. and this country are being oppressed and there is a move to continue to oppress them even further. what we need right now is someone with a strong track record of leadership, of vision. somebody who's willing to step out for these community, provide them the equity they need and these processes and raise and up lift their voices. in the years that i've been working here in the mission district, hill -- hillary ronan has always been just that. so i think more now than ever it is the most important and critical time to stand together, to be united and to have a leader who's been proven to have that vision, to have the ganas necessary to do what is wrong and stand for these communities so i highly suggest that you all vote for hillary ronan for board president. thank you. >> thank you for your comments. next speaker, please. >> my name is [inaudible] and i'm from chinatown. first of all i have to say that i admire hillary as a person. but i'm not here to speak for hillary as board president. a lot of people who couldn't get here today is because they're working. ok? and i think a lot of those people would support norman yee and i want to tell you something about norman yee. i've known him for more than 50 years. maybe 60. i used to think he was a really straight guy. a really kind of square guy, you know. an eagle scout. dudley dooright. the guy that would break up fights when a basketball game got a little too heated. now knowing the history of this board, i think you really need to think about the kind of person who isn't necessarily a policy leader. because every one of the members of the board can be policy leaders. you need somebody who can bring about consensuss so that this board can continue to function. and that is why i'm supporting norman yee. thank you. >> thank you for your comments. next speaker, please. >> hi. good afternoon. congratulations to everyone who was sworn in today. i'm jenny worley, the president of 21 representing the faculty of the college of san francisco. we're here to support hillary ronan for board president and we just wanted to remind you that the city of san francisco elect add progressive majority and we would like to see a highly progressive board president. we've all heard a lot about the personality differences, the past hurt feelings, etc. but we are here today to say we've gotten past our own hurt feelings and our own differences and we need board members, we need the progressive board members to do the same. put those things in the past. and vote for a president who represents the will of the people of san francisco. the women of san francisco, labor in san francisco and the progressive organizations of san francisco have all come together and spoken in one voice and that voice has said elect hillary ronan. >> thank you for your comments.
