Senator eyes automatic ticketing for out-of-line trucks on T

State Sen. Mike Gierau, D-Teton, is trying to change how overweight vehicles are ticketed on Teton Pass, aiming to improve safety on the mountainous byway connecting Wyoming and Idaho.
“I want to pass this bill now because one of these days a lot of people are going to die up there,” Gierau told the News&Guide. “When a truck lets go, and has to try to cross that line or jackknives and wipes out a family, or wipes out a couple, I don’t want the next bill to be so and so’s bill — the bill for the people that passed because of the accident.”
