Sulis Baird, 13, with the seed library Enthusiasm for growing things has taken off on Portland thanks to a new seed library. It has been set up in the old phone box at Wakeham, which is being used as a community library. Members of the Isle of Portland Gardening and Allotmenting Facebook Group have established the seed library as a place where people in the community can deposit and take seeds for their gardens and allotments. Group founder, Marion Baird said: "In lockdown the importance of and enthusiasm for gardening has grown enormously and food security is also high on the agenda.
