WHECTV Created: March 31, 2021 04:36 PM ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — U.S. Sen. Chuck Schumer was in Rochester Wednesday to share details about the latest federal coronavirus relief bill and let performance venues know help is on the way. Schumer mentioned money from the American Rescue Plan is coming to individuals, schools and the airport, as well as live and independent entertainment venues under a grant, called Save Our Stages. He made the announcement from The Bug Jar on Monroe Avenue in Rochester, which has been closed for more than a year because of pandemic closures and restrictions. Owner Aaron Gibalski says he anticipates it will remain closed in the months to come since most bands won't be touring until 2022.
